    1. I know you’re all waiting on the edge of your seat to find out how my dental appointment went to get a foreign chunk of matter cemented to my tooth, also known as a crown. Well I’m jazzed to report I did not need one after all, and instead my tooth was stuffed with a composite filling. Big fat win because you can’t even tell I had a hole in my tooth, and I can now successfully move forward with my life.

    2. I’ve been spending a solid chunk of my time with other peoples fur children. Back to back to back house/pet sitting is keeping me busy. Meet my current time filler, Lobby.

    IMG_1157

    3. A customer came into Starbucks last Friday and handed me $100. He then leaned in and whispered to me, “I know this is a total pain in the a#$, but can you use this for the people after me until it’s gone?” Good Samaritan, it is no pain in my a#$ at all to pass on feel goods to the world. And for that, I thank you.

    4. I’ve had an insatiable craving for both cinnamon rolls and apple fritters lately. The kind you’d buy at a bakery laden with sugary glaze. I tried to combat these cravings by making my own cinnamon rolls. I put ground coffee in the center because why not.

Well I’ll tell you why not…I put TOO MUCH coffee!! I never thought I’d type those words. I ate all of them, but they need some work.

    IMG_1177

    Before going into the sauna.

    5. I’m already wishywashing my current plans for my future. I’m a lost cause.

    6. When I’m not wrangling other peoples children pets I’m spending time with mine.

    IMG_1191IMG_1167

    7. I’ve been enjoying spending one of my days off each week in Seattle. I go run around Greenlake, walk around it, and then I eat. I eat all the things.

    8. I’m loving walking around my town lately, and pretending I’m somewhere else.

    Like Italy.

    IMG_1216

I think this is what a rustic Italian building would look like.

    IMG_1218

    9. I seem to have some kind of digestive intolerance to nuts, specifically peanut butter. This is a very depressing discovery. I’m going to avoid nuts for a bit and see how it goes incorporating certain types back into my diet in the future.

    10. With that said, I tried a random new rice cake combo. Instead of my usual nut butter and fruit combo, I swapped in coconut oil. I tried it with cinnamon and dried figs, and loved it so much I ended up dipping the figs straight into the oil.

    IMG_1235

My mind was blown all the way to mars. Obsessed.

    Q: What’s your confession?

    b

My confession: I have a peanut intolerance as well and have been peanut butter free for two years 😦 It takes some getting used to especially if you’re used to having it a couple of times a day but the peanut butter free life is indeed possible! Which I never thought it would be. Haha. Hopefully you can figure it out soon!

My confession: I can’t seem to go to bed without eating something. It’s like I can’t get past the gravitational pull my kitchen has on my way to bed…last night it was almond butter! I’ve learned I need to start ‘counting’ these pre-slumber nibbles because they add up fast!!

Loved hearing about the man at Starbucks – what a nice person and probably made a few people smile that day 🙂

Sometimes I wish there was a magical test (that was free), which could test all.the.foods and tell you which ones to avoid. I think that would be quite lovely. I still think it is hard to be dairy-free, and sometimes wish I had to avoid gluten more…but then I’d probably be saying the opposite. Oh well! Thank goodness for coconut milk ice cream and almond milk #lifesavers. And gosh, a cinnamon roll sounds heavenly.

      3. That story made my entire day!! It’s a beautiful thing to know that there are still people out there like that who will graciously and anonymously perform random acts of kindness. Although I don’t exactly have quite that much money to spare at the moment, I’m definitely going to think about doing something similar in the future!

      5. You are NOT a lost cause! Those feelings show that you truly, deeply care about your future and that you want to do something that you love, not just bring home a paycheck. That is one of the most admirable qualities in any human being, and I’m proud of you for that! I highly recommend the book “Making a Living Without a Job” by Barbara Winter. (http://www.amazon.com/Making-Living-Without-Job-revised/dp/0553386603/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1429652995&sr=1-1&keywords=making+a+living+without+a+job) It completely changed the way I approached deciding what I want to do with my life, and maybe it can provide a little insight for you too.

      9. SO SAD!! I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve heard sunflower butter is a good substitute for people with nut allergies. I hope it’s just temporary though!!

So glad you didn’t need the expense of getting a crown on your tooth! Also lovely to hear about the Good Samaritan. Your furry pet and other people’s furry pals are lovely. Sorry to hear about your nut allergy. My list of allergies and sensitivities is increasing and it becomes more difficult to find good alternatives to receive enough nutrition. I was mortified to discover I can no longer tolerate eggs after I had already being taken off gluten, soy, lactose, peanut butter, onions and bananas! I do miss my peanut butter! I can eat blanched almonds but not the ones with skins on. I’ve also heard that some people can tolerate peanuts boiled in their shells but can’t eat peanut butter. Weird the way we are affected like that. I have a latex allergy which is common among people who have an intolerance to a particular kind of avocado…which is me! The world of food sensitivities is complicated. It can take a long time to work things cause the problems. Very frustrating sometimes! In the end it is worth it when you feel better physically and mentally though. I wish you well finding out the problem! 🙂

I wish I thought to do this when I buy coffee. The reason I don’t is probably because I usually never buy coffee…because I work at a coffee shop…sometimes I bring bread home from work and put it in the community kitchen with an “up for grabs” sign and it’s gone in a couple days. My confession would have to be that I still have no idea what to do with my life and I am ok with it 😉

Also, I’m sad to hear about the peanut butter but it may for the best. I wish I had an intolerance to it! I bought PB2 yesterday and am still struggling with eating too much but it’s not as bad as actually peanut butter. I’m thinking about switching to almonds instead of nut butter to see if I can control myself a bit more…

That sucks about the possible nut intolerance. 😦 Hopefully that isn’t the case. I do admit when I eat nuts it seems I cough more often and it seems to produce more oil or zits….mainly peanut butter and pecans so I don’t try to eat them too often because of this.

You are so sweet! Pet sitting is a fun thing to do! I used to cat sit for a family friend and he eats everything I eat from vegan cream cheese to leafy greens. Hehe! It’s nice to have a foodie companion. What a sweet and kind customer…I hope he returns to Starbucks, he deserves a badge! I enjoy raw nuts and nut cheeses, but I started to notice a slight breakout on my skin. I started eating them less, and my skin cleared up.

Oh my goodness – #3 – what a cool gesture! I bet it was fun spending his money for him on people who were in line.
