The dairy crates compost bin is inspired!
Did you know the dreaded English Ivy in our PNW forests is as good as grape vines for wreaths and basket weaving? I’ve been at it for years in Portland’s Forest Park.
Below is my main technique but I look forward to learning more styles. The finished product comes out looking better than the ones pictured here if you work carefully. I only wish I’d remembered to take pictures before I gave them all away as gift baskets!

What’s groovy about these baskets is that you can use them as temporary planters that break down after one season and then can be tossed into the compost pile. Now, all I need is a compost pile.
