Posted at 7:32 AM by Brittany, on April 14, 2014

    1. I bought a new French press, and I don’t know how I ever lived without this gorgeous piece of pastel. The colors are legit and it screams, “I’m 12 at heart, but LOOVEE coffee.”

    20140412-171140

    2. Speaking of coffee, today I start my training to become a coffee master..aka a coffee ninja. I credit my soul mate Gigi for coming up with that term. Click here to learn more. When I complete the training I will be gifted a fancy black apron (ninja.) Stoked.

    3. Continuing with the topic of Starbucks, three of my coworkers and I “gave back” last week and volunteered to stuff Easter eggs with candy for kids. They are lucky I don’t like mints…I would have struggled not smuggling all the candy out in my pants.

    20140412-171615

    4. Yesterday I went to Darby’s Cafe in Olympia. I’ve been wanting to go there for about a year now, mainly because I saw it on DDD. I’m a sucker for Food Network. It was delish.

    5. I’m training for my 5th half marathon, it’s in three weeks. I’ve been running on roads like this…

    20140412-171651

….and refueling with treats like this….

I totally had a giant bowl of vegetables before I face plated a cupcake..I promise.

I totally had a giant bowl of vegetables before I face plated a cupcake..I promise.

    20140414-065541

    6. I spent $150 at REI the other day on a rain jacket…it’s been 70 and sunny all week.

    7. I’ve made headway onto foodgawker..and I couldn’t be more elated. I still haven’t read my dSLR manual, and I know nothing about food photography. I shoot what I think looks good, so this is extra exciting for me. I’ve had three photos accepted..starting somewhere!

    20140412-171939

    8. I have complete plans of going back to school, but I’m taking my sweet, sweet time.

    9. I’ve managed to fit some exploring into my schedule. Total necessity. 20140412-171702

    10. Life is good, and I want to own a bakery.

    Q: What’s your confession?

    b

I’ve always wanted to try a French Press! I know nothing about food photography either, but I love photography and would LOVE to learn more about it.

I seriously need a French Press. I had one before but broke it, and have been too lazy to get a new one;)
Congrats about making it onto foodgawker! That’s amazing. I seriously suck at photography. Everytime I try and learn about my camera, I just end up more confused ha.

Aaand I think it’s really sweet that you volunteered to fill up those Easter eggs. You have such a sweet spirit!

I saw you on FoodGawker — YAY YAY YAY!!! So proud of and excited for you girl! They’re super picky, so that’s awesome you’ve already had 3 acceptances. GO YOU!! 🙂 And I’m all for you owning a bakery. I’d probably visit every day and gain 100 pounds on all of the yummy brownies and coffee chocolate fudge you’d sell, but it’d be totally worth it!

You are a coffee fiend! No judgment though – if you’re gonna be addicted to something coffee and sugar isn’t a bad place to be. I’m not going to lie…those easter eggs are sad! If I opened and egg and there was anything but a cadbury egg, reeses, or m&ms in there, I’d be disappointed haha. I guess that’s just the chocolate lover in me! Next time sneak some of the good stuff in there 😉 you’ll be the kids’ favorite.

I am obsessed with coffee! HAHA, honestly though..I limit myself to no more than 16 oz a day, and a lot of times don’t even have that much!! SO, I keep it within limits!! HAHA.

I totally wanted to hook those kids up, I even told my coworkers, “if I had known THIS candy would be what we were stuffing I would have stopped at Walmart and bought REAL CANDY..this shit sucks!”

        I want a cupcake..everyday.

I tend to make my cappuccinos a bit on the dry side, and save some milk just in case someone wants it a bit heavier, but today I received a wonderful compliment. I pride myself on making a decent cappuccino, because let’s be real..not everyone can. This woman told me that the cappuccino I made for her was, “the best feeling (weight wise) cappuccino she has received in a long time.” I was touched. HAHA.

Those cupcakes. I die every single time. And here I am trying to cut back sugar and well, lets just say its not going so well…. I’m gonna blame whole foods and their vegan cupcakes.

My confession: I ate a vegan thumbprint cookie & chocolate for dinner. Oh, and some steamed broccoli to make up for it, I told you its not going so well.
