1. I bought a new French press, and I don’t know how I ever lived without this gorgeous piece of pastel. The colors are legit and it screams, “I’m 12 at heart, but LOOVEE coffee.”
2. Speaking of coffee, today I start my training to become a coffee master..aka a coffee ninja. I credit my soul mate Gigi for coming up with that term. Click here to learn more. When I complete the training I will be gifted a fancy black apron (ninja.) Stoked.
3. Continuing with the topic of Starbucks, three of my coworkers and I “gave back” last week and volunteered to stuff Easter eggs with candy for kids. They are lucky I don’t like mints…I would have struggled not smuggling all the candy out in my pants.
4. Yesterday I went to Darby’s Cafe in Olympia. I’ve been wanting to go there for about a year now, mainly because I saw it on DDD. I’m a sucker for Food Network. It was delish.
5. I’m training for my 5th half marathon, it’s in three weeks. I’ve been running on roads like this…
….and refueling with treats like this….
6. I spent $150 at REI the other day on a rain jacket…it’s been 70 and sunny all week.
7. I’ve made headway onto foodgawker..and I couldn’t be more elated. I still haven’t read my dSLR manual, and I know nothing about food photography. I shoot what I think looks good, so this is extra exciting for me. I’ve had three photos accepted..starting somewhere!
8. I have complete plans of going back to school, but I’m taking my sweet, sweet time.
9. I’ve managed to fit some exploring into my schedule. Total necessity.
10. Life is good, and I want to own a bakery.

I’ve always wanted to try a French Press! I know nothing about food photography either, but I love photography and would LOVE to learn more about it.
Lisa
I seriously need a French Press. I had one before but broke it, and have been too lazy to get a new one;)
Congrats about making it onto foodgawker! That’s amazing. I seriously suck at photography. Everytime I try and learn about my camera, I just end up more confused ha.
Food, Booze, & Baggage
Very cool french press! Congrats on the foodgawker…that is awesome. What do they say, “practice makes prefect” 🙂
Amy @ A Desert Girl
I’d run along those paths with that scenery. Gorgeous! Also I love the green and yellow coffee press. Too fun. Last but not least, you’re going to make an awesome coffee ninja.
Rach @ This Italian Family
The picture in #5 is gorgeous! Looks like my kind of place to explore. Maybe not run by, but definitely hike through! 🙂
Congrats on having pictures accepted by food gawker! Way to be, girl!
Aaand I think it’s really sweet that you volunteered to fill up those Easter eggs. You have such a sweet spirit!
sincerelylily

You speak such kind words. I run so that I can face plant into sky high cupcakes. Oh swoon.
kathy@vodka and soda
i want to run those trails with youuuuuu!
Brittany
ME TOO ME TOO ME TOO! Get your ass to Washington! NOW !
Amy
I saw you on FoodGawker — YAY YAY YAY!!! So proud of and excited for you girl! They’re super picky, so that’s awesome you’ve already had 3 acceptances. GO YOU!! 🙂 And I’m all for you owning a bakery. I’d probably visit every day and gain 100 pounds on all of the yummy brownies and coffee chocolate fudge you’d sell, but it’d be totally worth it!
Brittany
AHH SO EXCITING!!
I would probably try to convince you to be one of my taste testers. Free treats all day long..bahaha.
Amy
As if I’d need convincing!! 😉
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I’d like to work in your bakery and borrow your French Press whenever I see fit, which would be daily.
Congratulations on the FoodGawker acceptances!!! That is fantastic news, totally earned and well deserved.
I love your last picture.
I confess to mad monkey action with the Hubby yesterday. 🙂
Brittany
As always, your comment made me laugh out loud. Monkey love away my friend.
Change of Pace
That bottom photo is so heavenly and peaceful!
Yay for another half! Where is it?
My confession: it’s only Monday and I’m counting down the hours until the long weekend!
Brittany
My half is in Washington (I do want to travel again soon to another state for a half.) It’s in a city called Tacoma, and I chose it because I’ve always wanted to run across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, and that’s exactly where it starts!
Hang in there, the weekend will be worth the wait!! ❤
Lauren @ ihadabiglunch
You are a coffee fiend! No judgment though – if you’re gonna be addicted to something coffee and sugar isn’t a bad place to be. I’m not going to lie…those easter eggs are sad! If I opened and egg and there was anything but a cadbury egg, reeses, or m&ms in there, I’d be disappointed haha. I guess that’s just the chocolate lover in me! Next time sneak some of the good stuff in there 😉 you’ll be the kids’ favorite.
Whenever I read your blog I want a cupcake haha
Brittany
I am obsessed with coffee! HAHA, honestly though..I limit myself to no more than 16 oz a day, and a lot of times don’t even have that much!! SO, I keep it within limits!! HAHA.
I totally wanted to hook those kids up, I even told my coworkers, “if I had known THIS candy would be what we were stuffing I would have stopped at Walmart and bought REAL CANDY..this shit sucks!”
I want a cupcake..everyday.
Life After Swimming
Whoooaaaaaa look at you go on foodgawker. I gawk hardcore everytime you post a recipe, so I can imagine everyone else does too.
That is the PRETTIEST French press in the entire world. It looks like a box of crayolas.
karla @ finding my fit
Ooo! Going back to school?! Can’t wait to hear more about that front. I have two plans for my life.. either go back to school soon and be a medical ultrasound tech. or be a stay at home mom forever… i really like the appeal to the second one.
so excited to take my baby (DSLR) out to colorado next week. 😀
Heather @ HeatherRunsFast.com
I love reading your confessions 🙂 That French Press is perfect! Congrats on Foodgawker, that’s awesome! Your refueling choices are spot on. DDD is one of my fave shows. The Food Network is one of the only reasons we haven’t gotten rid of cable yet. Happy Monday Lady!
jessielovestorun
You are right, that sure is one beautiful french press. I adore the colors & pretty much now want one of my own. Ohhhh school? What for? 🙂
Brittany
Holistic nutrition as my baseline….with MANY possibilities for more. I’ll blog about it…eventually. 😉
Matt @ Runner Savvy
I wish I had time for a French press! I’ll stick with my Keurig for convenience 😉
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Ohhhhh so THAT’S what the black aprons mean?! Good to know! Now I’m going to make sure to only order my fancy cappuccinos when the barista making them is wearing a black apron 😉 And grats on Foodgawker, lady! I was over the moon when I started making headway with them.
Brittany
I tend to make my cappuccinos a bit on the dry side, and save some milk just in case someone wants it a bit heavier, but today I received a wonderful compliment. I pride myself on making a decent cappuccino, because let’s be real..not everyone can. This woman told me that the cappuccino I made for her was, “the best feeling (weight wise) cappuccino she has received in a long time.” I was touched. HAHA.
ahellams
Gosh I really need to step up my food photo game, you are killing it. Mine are awful. Just add it to the list of things that will finally get done after boards and Boston!!
Choc Chip Uru
I want those sweets pleaseeee way to make my week better 😛
Cheers

Meghan
If you could please follow through with numero 10, I would have one more reason to move back to WA, k thanks. 🙂 Oh boy another half! You are gonna kill it girl! Send that rain jacket to me, it’s pouring all week in ATL and I am ill equipped for such shenanigans. 🙂
CONGRATS on those foodie pictures being famous! Your pictures (as I always say) are my fave so I’m NOT surprised woman.
Sarah @ Feeeding the Brain and Body
I really want a coffee press but now I want to find an awesome one like yours. Plus, green is my favorite color. Owning a coffee shop would be so neat!
Davida @The Healthy Maven
yeah girlllll, well done on FG!!!! Also obsessed with that french press. Your bodum just owned my bodum.
Britta
I love coffee from a french press, it just tastes better AND you feel like a boss for making it. I don’t know why. um, your 5th half? What the?!? AMAZING! You will blow it out of the water. I am shitting my pants about my marathon, come save me.
Those cupcakes. I die every single time. And here I am trying to cut back sugar and well, lets just say its not going so well…. I’m gonna blame whole foods and their vegan cupcakes.
My confession: I ate a vegan thumbprint cookie & chocolate for dinner. Oh, and some steamed broccoli to make up for it, I told you its not going so well.
adaisygarden
Beautiful photos, fun post to read. Congrats on foodgawker!
Melanie
That road your ran on and the place you went “exploring” look amazing! You live in a gorgeous place! I’m loving your “refueling” cupcakes too. YUM. I also love your FoodGawker pics. They look beautiful!
GiGi Eats Celebrities
You are my BRUCE LEE BI***!!! 😉
brickhousechick
You have been one busy BlissfulBritt, haven’t you???? Your motivation and outlook on life is inspiring as are your desserts. 🙂 How perfect for you to own your own bakery! I can totally see it! I’ll have to get back to you as to my confessions. This is a family show after all!
Brittany
You are too sweet my friend!! ❤
Alisha's Appetite
You’re going to get a BLACK APRON!?!? That is so totally ninja I can’t even stand it. Congrats on the pics on foodgawker! That’s major. Double major that you self-taught to take your own food pics. Props my lady!
Nicole @ FruitnFitness
If you open a bakery will you ship your baked goods to kentucky? Those roads look perfect for running on, I love getting to look at nature when out for long runs.
Katy Thomas (@KatyMarie5)
OMG I had NO IDEA about barista bootcamp! That’s amazing! I’m so jealous of all the gorgeous scenery around you! It’s beautiful. In keeping with your cupcake theme, here’s my confession: I gave up sweets for lent, but ate dessert last night at Passover. It cancels out, right?
apartmentwife
brit! congratulations on the foodgawker thing-your pictures look gorgeous and it seems like people are loving what you’re doing 🙂 maybe you forget about grad school and start some kind of vegan cook book?? okay okay, more realistic- do both?
Brittany
I should totally do both…I would love to write a cook book! 🙂
The vegan 8
Congrats on your photos girl!! And as usual those freaking cupcakes you post are making me salivate! I LOVE the colorful coffee press too… I absolutely love bright colors. I am an artist on the side ( when I’m not being a baking fiend) and I paint with really bold colors, so I loved this coffee press . Speaking of coffee, I thought of you when I posted my Energizing Almond Joy milkshake, for real… I added espresso to it and whoa, so good!! I thought.. Oh Brittany would like this, lol 🙂
Brittany
OHH I love it!! You know me too well. 😉
itsthecookiemonster
yay food gawker! youre waaay more pro than i am with that dslr! somehow my photos always turn out blurry/fuzzy/grainy =.=
Hannah
I’ve always dreamed of owning my own coffee shop. To this day being a barista is the most fun way I’ve ever earned a living. So I’m with you on owning a bakery.
And Yay Food Gawker!
jessiebearwhat
Congrats on foodgawker- I’m in the same boat but finally got a piece or two up there :). Also, a french press is the best thing I own (besides my apron that looks like snow white’s dress- never too old for a tutu).
