    1. Life has been crazy lately. Almost like a blur. Initially I wanted to crawl into a hole like a hermit, but I’ve decided blogging helps me stay calm and collected. So blog I shall.

    2. Cookies make everything better…everything.

    20130415-115427
    3. Remember when I said I felt like I was a flying unicorn while dripping sweat in spin class a few weeks ago? Well the other day I noticed more sweat drops underneath my bike and instantly got excited. I then remembered that I never felt any drops fall from my face, and noticed a fan blowing directly onto the sweaty man next to me. The fan was blowing in my direction. Ohh gross. Please let the sweat on my skin be mine.

    4. While trying to coax my cat into the kitty carrier to go to the vet he was hesitant.

"Please go into the jail like box."

“Please go into the jail like box.”

My other cat decided the box was a playground and I couldn’t get him to come OUT of it.

    20130515-093548

    5. I never read The Great Gatsby in school, so when I saw the movie I had no idea what to expect. What a sad, tragic, and romantic story all wrapped into one. I couldn’t help but feel a bit down after watching it though. Also, WHY does Leo ALWAYS die!?

    6. I love my mom because she is ALWAYS there for me. No matter the situation. We may butt heads at times, but when I need her the most she is there whether it’s a shoulder to cry on, or answering my distress call after a failed attempt at a long run.

I made it to 6miles and everything started to hurt. Including my mind. Mom to the rescue.

I made it to 6miles and everything started to hurt. Including my mind. Mom to the rescue.

    7. I really realllyyy really want a bike. I am looking at hybrid bikes, but don’t know much about them. If you’re a biker pleaseee help!! Any tips or suggestions PLEASE!

    8. I got a haircut last week, and of course left the salon excited with the way it was styled. I cannot for the life of me style it the same way. I now regret this decision and want to shave my head. I must remember this next time I feel the need to chop my hair.

Do not be fooled by this. When I try to curl it myself it looks like a 12 yr old did it.

    9. My black cat has been ALL OVER ME lately. I’ve decided I am going to invent a device where humans can pick up on emotions like animals can. I swear he knows when I am off and then turns into extremely annoying kitty. It’s appreciated though. Stay tuned for my invention, I think this is my calling.

    10. I need a vacation. Somewhere tropical would be nice. Someone please take me.

    Q: What’s your confession?

bahahahaha! “Also, WHY does Leo ALWAYS die!?” I never realized this, but it’s TOTALLY TRUE. Poor guy.

My hair neveeeer looks the way it does when I leave the salon. How do they get so much volume and bounce? Seriously, how?

Shoving a resistant cat into a carrier is definitely one of the worst things ever. Glad to hear the other one went along with it!

Cookies DO make everything better. I think your hair came out really cute! I totally feel you on not being able to style it the same way though and having it be frustrating. I now just get trims when I get a haircut because I know I’ll regret it later.

Your hair looks great shorter — I am sure whether you do it or it’s all done up — maybe go back to the salon and ask whoever cut it to hook it up with a free tutorial. I know you got that charm.

I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE GETTING A BIKE.
I only know a little about mountain bikes, so I can’t help ya there.

It drives me nuts when the hair stylists make my hair look awesome and then I go home and can’t even make it look a semblance like they did. Because of this, I’ve become realllllly conservative with my hair cuts and only get a trim and angles in the front. AKA I am boring. I think your hair looks super cute though! Maybe you could rock it as a bob? My confession: I am pretending to be busy at work…I am not even a little busy haha.

I don’t even own a curling iron because I’m so bad at it! I don’t have a straightener either, so since my hair isn’t completely straight, it’s always a funky mess on top of my head. Good thing I don’t get out much! ;]

LOVE the haircut!! I have both a hybrid bike and a road bike. I set the road bike on a trainer during the winter so I can train indoors. Then, I ride the hybrid on trails or to run errands/tool around (I do love it!) and use the road bike for road races or outdoor training rides.

Loving the haircut!!! And I totally agree – I almost want to ask them to NOT style it because then I’ll have these outrageous expectations about how it should look when I attempt it at home.

Also the staredown picture with the kitty cracks me up. Who won?

I’m headed to your neck of the woods (Seattle, San Juan Islands, BC) a week from today!! I confess that I’m very excited for the trip. 🙂

#2 is the mother of all truths. Hope that between the cookies, cat cuddles, and mom time, you’re feeling a bit better ❤ But thanks for spoiling the end of Gatsby for me! Nawww, I kid, I kid… I read the book, but I really can't answer the question about Leo. And I have to say that your hair looks pretty damn gorgeous… but I know what you mean about not being able to style it worth anything when you're at home. My hair is so fussy that I've all but given up on it. Sometimes I wake up having a naturally good hair day, but most of the time I seriously think about shaving my head and buying a wig.

your hair is sooooooo cute! but I have the same issue, it never looks as nice as when I leave the salon. that is why whenever I know im getting my hurrrrrs cut I make big plans for that night so I can make use of my beautiful hairstyle.

and then the next day I go back into plain pin straight hair lily. whatevs.

lets go to Hawaii! or paris! b/c then we can drink a lot of wine and eat a lot of bread and cheese and it will be no big deal.

I would be freaking out if a cat was on me all day…. I’m glad you can handle the furr and meows.

Confession: in my desire to move out to California next year, I have been watching 90210 and The Hills. No shame.

I love the short hair – it is perfect for summer!! And yes, cookies really do make everything better. Especially when they are the size of your face haha

I have the funniest picture of our cat in ‘time out’ when I put her in her box for being bad. It still cracks me up! I have a TREK Hyrbid bike and I LOVE it! I can’t speak highly enough about it. It is amazing… I have commuted with it and done a triathlon with it and if you get the year before’s colors they are usually on sale. Super bonus! Another great place to find a bike is Craig’s List!

Hawaii, a haircut, mom… I could use them all right about now. I’ve been feeling antsy and anxious lately, waiting to hear some news, but thankfully my momma has been there to talk some sense back into me – worrying won’t change anything or speed time up!

      1) LOVE the new haircut 🙂 Very cute and flattering!
      2) The Great Hatsby is a great read- so beautifully written. I highly recommend it as a quick read. I cannot wait to see the movie and see how it all plays out on screen. And yes, why does Leo always die? Boo.
      3) I need a vacation too. July cannot come soon enough!

I’m bummed I’m so behind in my blog reading because if I had seen this sooner, I would have taken you to Belgium with me, and we would have run all over Europe. I hope all is well in your world soon, and I will dig on your new hair style in the meantime, even if you can’t recreate it. Matter of fact, I just got mine cut and I feel the same. We’ll figure it out soon enough right?!
