There are a handful of things I am loving right now, and not just watching my cats UFC fight while I dip popcorn into almond butter and mustard.
SEPARATELY.
Lately I’m loving…
- Too legit to quit runs.
As you can see/know if you follow me on Instagram I ate a fat piece of raw pie last Monday and went for a run from my town, to the next town over. I had no idea if I’d make it as I haven’t run more than 6 miles (and only a handful of times) since March.
- Creepin in a coffee shop
I hadn’t spent time blogging in a coffee shop for…so long I can’t recall when the last time was. It’s always fun to be in a Starbucks that isn’t the one I work at.
- Features on popular websites.
I am not a famous food blogger, nor do I aspire to be one. My recipes don’t travel the web at the speed of light, and I don’t have people knocking at my door begging to try my random creations. With that said, it has been like the work of a wizard adding coffee to the energy bite world. These bite sized balls have been a hit since the day I first shared them. Adding coffee to treats makes the world a better place.
- New shewwwss.
I stalled long enough with buying a new pair of Vibrams, so I ordered these online because they were on sale. I can’t say I love these yet because they haven’t arrived, but I’m hopeful that by sacrificing my pride with that “up the ankle” look they’ll be extra comfortable. If anything they won’t have holes in the toes like my current pair.
- Coffee
Is this a shocker? Do you know what I do sometimes with my days off? I drive out of my way to get a good cup of coffee. Yesterdays cup was Brazil Santa Ines, a Starbucks Reserve roast with tasting notes of milk chocolate and plantains. It sang in my mouth.
- Blogging
Despite today’s somewhat random attempt at a post, I have a few posts in the draft bin ready to go. One mountain adventure, one recipe, and one product review.
Piggy backing off of that I also love blogging for the people I meet, and places I go.
Like that time I went to Taiwan…
Just kidding, but this girl did and she sent me that awesome mug with a bear on it. I am traveling soon though to visit this girl. I’m stoked to stomp all over Ohio and drink all their coffee, and eat all their food. All the all’s.
Q: What is one thing (or five) that you’re loving right now? I’m loving how sore my legs are from yesterdays five hour hike.

I love having time off from uni, reading, blogging, more time for long walks with my dog and the prospect of going to England 11 days from now. =)

When you go to a Starbucks that is not your workplace, do you find yourself “managing” in your head? Just curious.
Brittany
Yes…and no. I definitely notice things (sometimes, when I pay attention) that make me cringe, but most of the time I really just go in as a customer and the only evidence that I am a Starbucks employee is my partner card. I use it for my discount. 🙂
Amy @ A Desert Girl
That’s awesome that your energy bites have been such a hit! It’s understandable. 🙂
Instagram shows what I’m loving too – cats, my growing belly, flowers and nature shots, cats, growing belly, flowers and nature shots….and repeat. 🙂
Kelsey
I’m loving: my new sense of creative and inspiration for the blog this week, a new coffeehouse by my work with an awesome mission, my back squat PR of 200# (!!!), the calmness at work, and YouTube vloggers from Britain. Watch out… I might move there soon!
Tania @ Run To Radiance
Yay! New shoes!! 🙂 and that coffee sounds awesome. Also, I love creeping in a coffee shop! haha! 🙂
Heather @ HeatherRunsFast.com
Love the disclaimer. I need to start checking out random coffee shops in my area. Guess this isn’t the best time since I can’t have caffeine, but even just the atmosphere is calming to me. I’m loving 1- running 6 miles w/baby on board, 2- having a girl!, 3- the relationships that blogging has created for all of us 🙂
Brittany
You can get tea! If I feel like going to a coffee shop when it’s too late in the day for coffee I get teaaaa!
P
I’m going to have to get some new running shoes soon…can’t believe I already have at least 600 miles on my Hokas…and it’s only been 9 months since I got them?! Haha.
Vibrant are cool though, whether they go up the ankle or not 😉
Brittany
I remember having to retire my “normal” running shoes sometimes at only 6 months!! The joys of the barefoot shoes…YEARS of running. HA.
Amy
Hooray for new shoes!!! I hope they feel more comfortable than your last pair. That’ll really be worth waiting so long for! 🙂 And I definitely need to add coffee to more of my recipes… It’s been so long since I’ve been able to drink it, but I miss that flavor a lot. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

Loving housesitting right now! So much fun getting to live in a different town & mind other people’s pets. Another world!
Brittany
Agreed!! I have done so much house sitting the last few months I’m actually welcoming the break. It’s always fun though, and look forward to my next adventure.

I love being active again and coffee and Once Upon A Time and my dogs and summer !!! :)👙☕️👏🐕🐺🐶☀️

Loving having time to make handmade cards, and I had my first affogato today! If you are ever finding yourself in KC, I will show you all our great coffee places too 🙂
Brittany
Oh, YUM! You’ve got yourself a deal.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Watermelon. And chocolate. And sunshine. And salsa. Although not necessarily all together 😛 And September seriously needs to happen sooner… Because blogging [friends]. And fall ❤
Brittany
I need fall asap. I’m over this heat. And ready to mingle with my ladies.

Love this post! I’ve been loving being off for the summer and yin yoga to stretch lately. It’s so nice to hold poses forever and just let your muscles relax!
Ellie
I am guilty of going to a different CTB location to get coffee or food even though I work at one =P As long as I don’t have to work, I really love the establishment! I am sore too and that makes me feel good, although mine is from a race, not an epic hike.
Jade
That cat is adorable. I’ve never blogged in a coffee shop before. I might have to try it just to say I’ve done it.
Luv What You Do
Popcorn in almond butter?! I will have to try that!
We got our first set of response cards back which I am totally loving! Plus my guy just made me dinner with his new charcoal grill. l guess there’s a lot to love : )

Dude that run. Now that is impressive. I did manage to get four miles in on Saturday which is huge for me. I’d like to get that number up to 6 this month. Wish me luck or maybe just run with me come September. 🙂
Speaking of…September can’t come soon enough.
Brittany
I was hoping you’d ask me to run with you….
more coffee, less talky
your balls were on twitter! LOL
it’s been forever since i’ve sat in a coffee shop!
Brittany
My balls are famous. Bahaha. Balls.
Rach @ This Italian Family
Your recipe is famous! Girl, that’s awesome! And hooray for new running shoes! May you run many fabulous miles in them! 🙂

Whaaaaat?!?!? You’re gonna be in Ohio?!?! You better stomp right over to Columbus and have some coffee with me!! We have some vegan bakeries around here too! 😉
Brittany
Isssss Columbus near Cleveland!? I’m terrible with geography…lol.
Lucie Elizabeth (@CollectingLight)
Haha, I love that the majority of your posts include, in some form, coffee (and that you get excited about it)….thats so me! And nobody understands my excitement for coffee. Im glad you do 😉
Brittany
Coffee is an under appreciated art!
Lily Lau
Those Vibrams look crazy, you’ve to tell us how comfortable they are 🙂
di @ life of di.
1) You’re going to be in OHIO!?! Where and when? Is it possible to meet up?
2) I wish I could run like you. I’m slowly trying to run again but it is so discouraging because I have so far to go before I get to even a 5K. Boo. Progress not perfection (at least that’s what I keep reminding myself…)
3) Love those new shoes. I’m interested to know how they’d feel on a run.
4) All things coffee = always.
Brittany
Cleveland! Are you near there? I won’t have a car so I can’t go far, but if you’re close I would love to meet up for coffee!
familyrulesbyplainjane
P.S.You are officially nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award though if you don’t do awards or are too busy, no worries! (I am not sure the nomination was clear when I wrote the post at X%$@!!!! o’clock last night so I tried to clear it up this morning.
Arman @ thebigmansworld
Looks like another hot mofo will be in Cleveland in September. 😉
Brittany
Whaaat!? No way, fo rilz!?!?
Lauren
I’m loving that I have time to read blogs again. And that the weather has been absolutely gorgeous!
Emma @em-poweredwellness
Loving chocolate and coffee, too. And sore muscles. And wine. And card games. And early morning bike rides. 🙂
Alison (Fueling for Fitness)
I will have to try your… energy balls…. how can I say that again without it sounding completely inappropriate?! My husband and I just moved to Vancouver so we are loving everything about this city so far.
Brittany
It’s OK, I want you to eat my balls.
The Vegan 8
I add coffee to soooo many of my desserts, it’s pretty much the best addition ever! Love your new shewzzz!
Dannii @ Hungry Healthy Happy
It’s always good when you get your balls featured 😉
Such a cute cat. Sadly our cats don’t like being dressed up. Not even when bribed with treats.
Brittany
My cat HATED that vest. That photo was like three years ago, and I haven’t attempted clothing since. Really it was just for a photo, I would never leave clothes on my animals haha.
Change of Pace
I’ve been loving your hiking photos on IG; so beautiful!
I loved a couple shorter hikes we took Jasper on last week when Kelly was on holidays. Seeing nature through his baby eyes is pretty spectacular. He looooved watching a creek flowing and touching a mossy tree 🙂
Brittany
Thank you! I’ve been loving the adventures. AHH baby hikes, gotta start them young.
Jess @hellotofit
CONGRATs on the energy bites feature! I taught my first yoga class today (as a sub for another instructor, but hey) and LOVED it. I have a feeling I made a neat decision :P. XOXO
Brittany
That is AWESOME!! Who knows what doors that may open for you!

I’m interested to know how that new starbucks coffee tastes — the one with the black sleeve!
Brittany
Ah yes, the black sleeves. Those cups actually indicate many types of coffee’s, and what sets them aside from the brown sleeve is that they are meant for cups filled with Starbucks Reserve blends. These blends are usually small lot coffee’s that are much more rare than the typical Starbucks offerings. The coffee I shared a photo of in this post is a Reserve blend, and it was so delicious. I prefer darker, smoother, more full bodied coffees with notes of chocolate and nuts, so if you enjoy similar notes you would love this Brazil Santa Ana. I love Latin American beans, and when blended with certain Indonesian beans they SING!
A few other reserve blends that I just LOVE are: Brazil Sertaozinho (this is fantastic as a cold brew), West Java Preanger, Maui Mokka, and my current favorite is the Pike Place Reserve, which is different than the typical Pike Place roast and only found in Seattle. As I mentioned though, I like the smoother flavors that have a silky finish. If you prefer blends with citrus notes and a higher acidity then you’d want to explore some of the other Reserve blends, there are PLENTY with those types of African notes. Many of those are sun-dried and the berry flavors BURST out.
These blends are only found at select Starbucks locations, and are typically clover brewed, though you can request a pour over if you prefer that method. If you ever find yourself in Seattle the Starbucks Reserve Roastery can also make some of these as espresso or cold brew. These blends are for the true coffee lovers, and I love telling people about them because most people don’t know Starbucks has more unique offerings. 🙂

I’m loving that you also have a black cat! Black cats own my heart and soul. Keep on livin’ and lovin’. 🙂
Brittany
Black cats have the biggest personalities, I just adore them.
Mary
I love setting up in a coffee shop and nursing my drink while I bang out a blog post. There’s something super relaxing about it.

I’m loving all the great produce at the farmers market these days, esp. sweet corn and melons! -Kat

Brittany
Yea! Cleveland area (I think, lol) in September!

Okay! That is super exciting and a lot more north than me, but let me know about the good coffee places in that area!!
