Last Thursday I had an exceptionally great day, and the moments just kept coming.
Exceptional moment #1: I woke up with the sun. It’s ALWAYS a good morning when there are no alarms. I rose from the dead around 6am – my happy wake up time.
Exceptional moment #2: I made a French press, opened my computer, and sliced myself a piece of raw blueberry pie. I was sipping on some Organic Yukon, which has a smoothness that paired beautifully with this creamy pie.
Recipe for the pie here. Exceptional moment #3: I took a drive a few towns over for a run along the water and across the bridge. Everything about this run was on point.
Exceptional moment #4: Post run grocery haul, aka the two stores that are the Disneyland away from Disneyland. Plus Whole Foods had my favorite Theo bar.
Exceptional moment #5: Satisfying my week long burger craving, and remembering the beauty that is iceberg lettuce. I always opt for dark leafy greens because they have a higher nutritional punch, but all I wanted was a lettuce ball.
It was like the 4th of July firework finale in my mouth.
Exceptional Moment #6: Discovering a box of all things wonderful with my name on it. I had no idea this was coming, one of the many perks of blogging.
More on that later…I think that’s enough feel good for now.
Q: What kind of adventures constitute an exceptional day for you? Leisure mornings, hikes, good coffee and food pairings, running, food, more food, all the food.

every single part of my day is exceptional! i feel higher than a skyscraper for all of it! i love your exceptional day:) xo
Brilliant reply, from a brilliant lady. ❤
What an amazing day. That blueberry pie though…I mean…YES PLEASE. I’m a teacher, so my whole summer is full of exceptional days. Today was one. Got up, worked out and hung with some friends, came home and just made some coffee as the sky lit up with lightening and opened up and poured. I sat in my sun room watching the storm. These are the kinds of days I live for!
This is the ONE thing I envy all teachers… that you guys have the whole summer OFF. How lucky!! 🙂
I do love it!!
I think any morning you wake up to the sun and can do whatever your heart desires is a good day 🙂 Thanks for sharing yours.
I love your positivity! It DOES sound like a great day!
An exceptional day in introverted middle age: two of my counseling clients did not show. I will get paid the “missed appointment fee” for catching up on my favorite blogs over coffee. But more pressing: How did you manage to shrink the sun and how did you hold it without getting burned??

Yes to a perfect cup of coffee! Sunny days, happy people, and an unexpected compliment make my day 🙂
How exceptionally wonderful! ❤
My day became exceptional when you liked my first post, even though it was really really short! Even cooler that we have loads in common, including your sense of humour!! What a great start to my blogging journey:))
That is an exceptional day! And surprise packages in the mail are the best!
I guess it must be true. If you are positive, positive things will happen to you. Way to go.
Love the pic of you holding sunshine! Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂
I’d agree with your list, but also beautiful weather and some alone time 🙂
Ah, sounds so lovely. An exceptional day for me would include the lack of alarms, and a nice hike combined with yummy breakfast. I love sunny mornings before the rest of the world is awake.
That sounds like an amazing day!!! And that burger looks so fab. Toss in a little gardening in a day like the one you had and I’m set 🙂
A great start the day run, great yoga lesson and a Starbucks after with my husband is an almost perfect day for me!
Enjoy your day! ❤️
more coffee, less talky
sounds like a fantastic day. slow mornings with good coffee are definitely up there in my “great day” things.

Any day that includes a burger is an exceptional day I think. The day I discovered using lettuce as the bun was an exceptional exceptional day!
these are such great things! exceptional moments for me: that morning run that just WORKS and makes your life feel glorious; hearing the right song at just the right moment and feeling like the whole world is set to music; being anywhere near water (lake, ocean, etc); kayaking or boating upstate with my family.
6 am is SUCH a happy wake up time.
Exceptional moments for me almost always involve putting myself in the way of beauty whether that is a sunrise, a hot cup of coffee or some mountains. Preferably all of the above..

I’m excited to read more about exceptional item #6! 🙂

OMG that pie! Looks delish! Also – hooray for waking up without an alarm. I don’t wake up with an alarm anymore….Charlotte has done a good job at getting me up at a pretty regular time each morning 😉
This just looks refreshing. I am all over that coffee part. Thanks for sharing, and taking a look at my blog!

That actually sounds like something I’d consider to be an exceptionally great day as well.. although sometimes I feel like all of my days are exceptional when I approach them with the right attitude. And coffee. Coffee always helps.

That’s a pretty exceptional day in my book! I love waking when my body’s ready- the times are few, but when they happen its amazing. Here’s to more alarmless mornings 🙂
Your sunshine pictures make me so happy! It’s been a really long time since I woke up with the sun, and I want to start phase shifting back to going to bed early and waking up early. That’s when my body is happiest, and I need to remember that!

A day when I have nothing I “have” to do…the idea of reading all day long, snacking, snoozing, drinking tea. Sounds heavenly!
Ahh I love all the good vibes that you’ve been experiencing lately! Waking up to the sun is AMAZING.
What a WONDERFUL day! Ummm, that pie and that burger look divine. YUM! That “all things wonderful” box looks like so much fun too. How cool is that that you weren’t even expecting it! Blogging FTW. Ha ha! I love waking up with the sun, especially when I go to bed early the night before. Hardly ever happens, but I LOVE it when it does!
I LOVE waking up early and getting a lot of things done before most other people had their breakfast. Unfortunately this usually doesn’t happen to me naturally. I have to set an alarm to be up at that time and because I also enjoy getting enough sleep and staying up later than ten at night…well 😉

That does indeed sound like an exceptional day 🙂 I’d say all of those things would constitute an awesome day for me as well! I totally relate to feeling like Trader Joes is Disneyland 😛 I seriously look forward to Trader Joes day every week! 🙂
There really is nothing like getting a surprise package in the post, that alone would absolutely make my day 🙂 Great post, leaving me with a big smile on my face!
Getting a package in the mail (or anything in the mail that isn’t a bill actually) always makes my day! Other than that I always seem to have a good day if I wake up early enough to spend some time outside watering plants, drinking coffee, and snuggling the puppies before Emma wakes up. 🙂
Call me nosey, but I’m dying to know whats inside that box?!! 🙂
you’re making me want a theo bar. maybe that will be my exceptional moment of today? i’m thinking yes (just because it’s easier than finding myself some of that vegan pie…)
Your day sounds kind of blissful to me. My perfect day would involve much of the same, with a side of kitty snuggles, yoga in a sun patch (as opposed to running) book reading and some kind of boozy evening cocktail preferably with herbs from my own garden.
We need to build one of these days into our shenanigans plan, although I’ll give you caffeine free tea in the evening. 🙂

Oh my goodness, I am so a fan of waking with the sun. I always have better days when I do that. Up until this past January my alarm has been set for 5:45am for work which meant I was always up before the sun. But now that I don’t have to go into work until later in the day, I wake up with the sun every morning. It definitely makes for better days! 🙂
This post put me in such a good mood!
(I love <– no, LOVE iceberg lettuce. And I also love those Kettle Real sliced potatoes too. I want to salute your lettuce burger.)
Seeing your comment put ME in a good mood! ❤
