1. On Friday I went to my first spin class in weeks. I was quickly reminded why it’s important to stay on top of cardio. Holy tired sweat fest. So I went again yesterday for 90 min spin, and then went for a 2 hr hike. Time to get back in running shape.
2. Last week I got an e-mail informing me that if I bought a $30 gift card at The Veggie Grill I would get a free entree. I bought the card…for myself. Then I ate a free meal.
3. I balanced out my selfish gift card purchase by sharing a $5 oatmeal cookie with a stranger on the streets of Seattle. I hope she enjoyed it more than I did.
4. I’ve been branching out of my drip coffee bubble and getting something different. Americanos have a caramel sweetness to them thanks to the espresso beans.
5. I have been driving my car without a hubcap for OVER TWO YEARS NOW. I inquired about a new one once, but decided I was too cheap to buy one.
6. Looks like my patience payed off because my amazing coworker/friend (he chose me for his secret Santa) BOUGHT ME A NEW HUBCAP! SO JAZZED.
7. I won a coffee selling competition at work, and the prize is a trip to the new reserve roasting plant with my boss and the aforementioned coworker (he won the following week.) Basically my boss is paying for us to go to Seattle and drink coffee.
8. Lily…makes…gorgeous….things. Click here for adorable stuff.
9. Once upon a time I used to drink one cup of coffee. One. And I wouldn’t even finish it. Lately I’ve been drinking nearly my entire morning French press. It’s soothing.
10. FIVE MORE SLEEPS UNTIL I’M SUNNING MY SKIN IN ARIZONA!

Thats my dream US vacation (drinking coffee in Seattle)! Enjoy that and your upcoming vacation!
Love this post!
I confess to eating and drinking too much already… And its not even Christmas yet!
You are not alone my friend….
I confess that your picture of the delicious looking BLT made me drooling before 9 am… 🙂
First of all, #2 is my favorite. Hilarious. And Brilliant.
My Early Morning Confessions:
1. These are not very early morning confessions because I slept for ten hours last night. TEN. That never happens. Oh, the luxury of Christmas vacation.
2. I was really angry after work last week, so I decided to get out my frustration with a run (go me)! I made it about 1.2 miles before I couldn’t breathe and had to hobble home like an old grandma (sad face). The Bad News: It was a strong reminder that my new year’s resolution must involve exercise. The Good News: Any remaining energy available went to breathing and not being angry!
3. I hosted a Christmas party last weekend and was given a hostess gift by one of the attendees. The I went to a Christmas party yesterday for another friend… and took that same hostess gift… in the same bag. Ah, re-gifting before Christmas even arrives! Frugality at its finest.
I start half marathon training again today, and I am scared to see where I am starting from. It’s going to be a sad sight. Your re-gift confession made me laugh out loud. I’ve totally done that.
The Chaos Realm
…I’ve been sleeping in…*laugh*
a friend that buys you a new hubcap is a pretty gosh.darn.awesome pal ❤
I burst out laughing at the hub cap gift – SOOOO awesome!!
I have a maximum of one coffee per day…sometimes none…if I had more than one (even if all in the morning), I probably wouldn’t sleep that night! LOL
oh the days of just ONE cup of coffee. I hardly remember those days!!! When I was in Nelson, my sister and I would share an ENTIRE pot of coffee. The whole thing. And it was big. Luckily, back in Toronto I’m sticking to no more than two in the morning..okay, so sometimes I drink one and a half cups – so close to one but my ONE is still a big big cup. I also love this whole post.
My confession of the day: My bottom left molar is growing in. It’s infected and today I have to go to the dentist…. I’m praying they let me keep it – I don’t wanna lose the bad boy! #firstworldproblems
When Lily came to visit, we would share the French press every morning and chat. It was so lovely, so I can only imagine sharing an entire pot with your sister. That sounds like pure magic. AHH I HOPE YOUR MOLAR IS OK!
Confession of the day. I have to walk around with a chipped tooth for a couple days because my daughter threw my phone at my already replaced chip. Anddd I totally drinks tonss of coffe too. The venti is not enough
that is so sweet that your coworker thought to get you the hubcap- what an awesome secret santa gift!!
confession: you have given me an insane craving for that “blt” sandwich in your first pic… now nothing I eat for lunch is even going to compare. BOO.
These are my fave posts of yours (which I think I tell you every time, haha). I always buy giftcards for myself to get the freebie that goes along with… what sane person wouldn’t?! You’re coworker is awesome. YOU are awesome for sharing your cookie, the ultimate selfless gesture 😉 Don’t know how you ever only drank one cup!
My confession… I still need to do Christmas shopping and don’t want to. Also, I had kahlua cake for breakfast this morning at work, followed by a sugar cookie. When’s the madness going to end?!
This holiday sugar craze is killing me, KILLING ME! Thank god my running is going to pick back up today.
That’s the only thing keeping me sane (and not 200lbs)
Food, Booze, & Baggage
Hope you have a wonderful trip to AZ!! That is too funny that your co-worker got you a hubcap…that is something I would buy b/c hey I know you need it, so practical 🙂 I can barely handle coffee anymore unless I’ve had food first, P made me a cup Friday to go with our donuts and the coffee+sugar combo gave me the shakes. I would be off the wall drinking a full french press 🙂
Dear Lord that samich looks delicious. lol
The sandwich photo brought me here. 🙂
I am almost done my second coffee this morning and quite relieved to know there are more coffee addicts out there.
Amy @ A Desert Girl
You’re so cool. Enjoy your time in AZ!! And I can’t wait to read about the coffee-centered trip to Seattle for work. How cool is it that THAT is your work?? 🙂 Livin’ the dream.
I am so jealous you get to go to Seattle and drink coffee! Sounds like an absolute blast :). ENJOY Arizona!! And the sunshine!
Lovely confessions. My confessions: I miss the breaks we used to get in high school/college. I could use a staycation…especially since all I want to do is snuggle our new kitten. =)
EEEEPPP, new kitten snuggles! ❤
Just stalking your blog.
Your empty/full post was beautiful.
Congrats on school being over (for now) and have fun in ArizonA!
pS- been riding ratchet (missing a hub) for months now and I already am ready for a fairy to come and give me one.
I’m-a say that this the bestest most thoughtful co-worker secret santa gift EVER.
Tell him I said “he in first place”
Choc Chip Uru
Haha you are the only person I know who gets so excited about hubcaps – it is endearing 😀
Happy Holidays lovely!
Choc Chip Uru
Love it! You crack me up.
I haven’t been able to drink coffee for months. MONTHS. I’m dying. Crazy stomach issues… I really really really just want one cup. And for my stomach to tolerate it. (Yes, I’ve drank coffee because I missed it so badly during that time… But I paid for it later. No fair.)
SO excited for you and AZ! I wish I was headed out there again this year. We are going to meet — it’s next year’s New Year’s resolution! 🙂 And you and your hubcap… That just seals the deal. You’re the cutest & we must meet!
The first part of this comment MAKES ME SO SAD! I can’t imagine…like really I can’t at all. I am so sorry. UGH.
The second part makes me happy though, and YES YES YES!
Enjoy Arizona! Also, epic Secret Santa gift. Much better than the useless crap you usually get, haha.
What a beautiful hubcap 🙂 Have fun in Arizona! I’ve only been once, to the Grand Canyon when my family and I were vacationing in Vegas. Beautiful place!!
This morning I had carrot cake for a “healthy” breakfast, but it was made with oatmeal. I told to my self I was having oatmeal with carrots. I think that’s pretty healthy…
di @ life of di.
I can’t wait to go back to spin class 🙂 I finally got my ‘approval’ today to start working out again. I realize I’ve been working out for the past three weeks but I have been trying to do low-impact exercises. Hoping to start spinning again when I get back from NYC next week 🙂 Also, I meant to ask for a french press for Christmas! I can’t believe I forgot to mention it to people! AHHHH
YAY for starting spin again!! Looks like you’ll have to buy yourself a French press, total priority!
Matt @ Runner Savvy
I would have done the same thing with the giftcard 🙂
I confess I use the “holiday gift guides” on Runner’s World, Competitor and my local running store as a wishlist for myself 😉
Now I really want to go to Arizona AND the reserve roasting plant! You’re going to have the best time.
My confession is that I’m almost more excited for all the amazing vegan food I’ll have when I fly home to Colorado this weekend than seeing my family . Native Foods+my first Voodoo Donuts experience and probably more. But I also can’t wait to see my family either.
OMG I had no idea Voodoo opened a shop in CO! YES YOU MUST GO!! GET THE vegan Old Dirty Bastard, or whatever the one is that is covered in PB an OREO. My god I am salivating at the thought.
I MUST get anything with Oreo+PB! Thanks for the suggestion.
Khushboo Thadani (@KhushbooThadani)
Haha smart move with that gift card…and yes to ALL the coffee!! My confession is for the day is that my laptop is filled with umpteen number of bookmarked recipes, all of which are yet to be made ;)!
I haven’t been to a spinning class in forever! I’m sure it would kill me! Ummmm, that BLT looks phenomenal! I’m hungry now.
I hope you have so much fun in Arizona!!! The warmth sounds so heavenly right now.
GiGi Eats Celebrities
HUBBA HUBBA – dat hub cap though.
And I don’t need to confess anything to you right here. You know it all.
Arman @ thebigmansworld
Naw, you have a heart of gold…well with sharing the cookie. The vegan tofu got in the way of it after.
I thik buying the gift card to get the freebie was the best thing ever. I also kind of want to go ‘push’ on your last photo.
An Unrefined Vegan
Have a wonderful time in AZ, Brittany! Happy holidays and wishing you many soothing cups of delicious brew.
Thank you my friend, and the same to you!! ❤
#7 and #10 -> Any excuse to travel is a good one! Have tons of fun!!!!
It’s the holiday season so I’ve been eating like crazy and not exercising enough. Bring it on!
#1…so true…I’ve been as active as a lump of coal this holiday season…I’m dreading my first run.
That is awesome your coworker got you the hubcap! I would be too cheap to buy one too. I HATE HATE HATE spening money on our cars! (Or rather, ONE car that we are down to now….and I’m putting off getting another one b/c I don’t want a payment!)
Change of Pace
So nice you’re going to Arizona and the sunshine 🙂
Congrats on winning a trip to the new plant!
My confession: I’m feeling sorry for myself! I’m sick and can’t take any meds for it. And I’m getting sore from lying around all day but have no energy to do anything.
Merry, Merry Christmas!!
Oh no!! Drink lots of water and eat lots of oranges!! REST UP!
Ugh I hate spin classes, they’re killer. I totally would have bought the gift card and free entree for myself too!
I can’t stop laughing over the hubcap! LOL
I look at it every time I walk to my car. So proud. HAHA.
The Vegan 8
#2 made me laugh! That’s how they get your money, lol! Omg, I used to own a Toyota Corona and that cheap car always had the hubcaps popping off no matter how many times I replaced them, so I eventually stopped buying them! I hated that car! So cool your friend bought you one!
OH NO! Mine is a Camry and I ADORE it!! I’ve never had a problem with the hubcaps until that one popped off somewhere, but really I could care less. Everything else about the car is great! Bummer yours wasn’t, but I’m sure you have something much better now. 🙂
Rach @ This Italian Family
Is that your hand writing on the Starbucks cup? It is SO cute! Hearts and all!
And I bet that lady really did appreciate that cookie! You are a sweet soul. 🙂
Isn’t that writing adorable!? It was my coworker, and I admit the handwriting was mainly why I took the photo!! 🙂 My writing looks much more like chicken scratch.
I’m jealous you get to go to sunny Arizona. We drove over to the Seattle area to be with family yesterday and it was raining the entire drive over the pass. I am so over Washington weather. Have a happy Christmas and a fun time in Arizona!
These are all great! Congrats on winning the coffee contest, and keep up the sweat fears, cardio queen. I want to go hiking and take a pic like that. My confession, hmmm…I can’t stop buying myself lil Christmas gifts whenever I shop for other people. It’s a problem, bc I suddenly love everythinggggg.
Luv What You Do
I confess that I am taking time this holiday for just ME! Yikes!
Can’t wait to hear about your coffee drink trip to Seattle. I haven’t been to spin in forever either. I told myself that as of January I need to get back on my bike and in the pool!
I got a french press as a wedding gift! I just started using it! I love it so much I got my mom one for Christmas! xo
Lucie Elizabeth (@CollectingLight)
“90 min spin, and then went for a 2 hr hike”
Confession, I was a gymnast for 12 hers as a kid….I tried running again in the summer to get my fitness up and I could barley hold up for THREE MINUTES. YESSSS. New years resolutions this year? YUP, you guessed right, getting my fitness back!
Great list! I love the etsy shop you linked. My confession is that I can’t wait for 2015 to be here. :]
This post gives me all kind of happy thoughts. It also makes me want to sign up for a spinning class. There might be one tomorrow at my gym. I’m going to look into that now. And, it makes me excited you’re going to a warm and sunny climate, and proud you won the coffee selling contest. I knew you’d be a good salesperson. It’s your inner hussy dying to come out. Oops, did I just type that. Oh well, it’s true. You know it. Big love.
Mmmmm, that sandwich sounds good!
