1. I’ve been hearing birds/owls in the mornings. This is exciting news. I will relish in this while I can because I know that come July I will want to shank them for waking me up.
2. I went for a run in the rain a few days ago. It was lovely. There is nothing quite like the smell of (fresh/new) wet wood.
3. I want to chop my hair. It’s at the awkward stage and all I do is throw it back. I need to get some guts cause I want to cut it short…real short. Maybe I’ll just buzz it all off.
4. Sometimes all I need to do is go somewhere that has wonderful memories and just sit.
5. I haven’t been to Disneyland in almost two years….if I don’t go soon you might see me on the news for behavior I cannot be held responsible for. Disney made me do it…
6. I went painting on Saturday, and it was serious bidness. I think I’ll quit my life and move into the forest to paint trees and leaves on things..yeah..that’s my plan.
7. I made a raw vegan banana cream pie yesterday. It rocked my face soooo hard. I will be posting the recipe soon. Be prepared to rock face with me. I’m obsessed.
8. I hoard Starbucks cups. They are perfect for “out the door” transportation. I also hoard 1lb bags of coffee, which means a giveaway is coming.

Yeah, these are all empty. Oh look, some holiday cups! Those are for the middle of summer when I am craving Christmas time.
9. This article…yes! If you’re a frequent coffee shopper, please read. Not for kids.
10. It was a long winter season of running in my Asics. Some sunny weather pushed me to bust out my Vibrams. After 10 miles in my bare-footers, my calves were murdered.
Q: What’s your confession?

There is no catastrophe of color…it’s all beautiful!
kathy @ vodka and soda
i WISH i could go out running but we’re still ass deep in snow and shit. and i LOVE painting pottery! every christmas we take the girls and we do an ornament.
my husband also took me to paint pottery on our very first date. that was such an incredible date. of course, i put out.
Brittany
HAHAHA KATTHHYYY!! I am dying. You never cease to make me bust my gut. I’d probably pee myself if I didn’t have such amazing bladder control. It’s all the water I drink I swear, forced me to learn to hold it so that others don’t spit in my food because I make them stop to let me pee every 10 minutes.
Pottery for a first date is adorable. Totally worthy of action.
Britta
Are you wearing a tank to run?!?! Heck yes you are! ahhh, I just love the west coast for that reason. Been so warm here! Your snap chat of your pie had me drooling at work, ugh, so good. You should probably start a cookbook. Or open a vegan bakery.. I can totally see you doing that.
ahahahahaha that article is hilarious. Having previously worked at Starbucks I know allll to well how annoying people get. Also – on the topic of caramel macchiatos, EVERY GUY LOVES THEM..we had more men than women order them and which I found to be shocking.
My confession: haven’t blogged in a decade, it takes me a decade to respond to comments because I have been a lazy blogger. MERRRRR.
Brittany
To be fair, I wear a tank even when it’s cloudy and chilly..simply because I GET SO HOT WHEN I RUN! It’s crazy. BUTT IT has been amazingly warm a few days this week, and this skin needs some VIT D! I WANT A VEGAN SHOP..or foodtruck..or both…
Amalia
We should all go to Disneyland in August. Just saying.
Meghan @ fitnesscrEATures
I freaking love your capris, and I’d rather have those capris than have a matchy matchy outfit like I always do when I run. It’s the worst “mom” habit that I have! All my friends make fun of me. 🙂 OMG banana cream pie? I didn’t even know that was a regular thing, let alone vegan. Can’t wait to see that. AWESOME job making pottery! See, we don’t have as many of those as we do the canvas and wine thing. We should merge the two ideas and go into business together and make a huge profit so you can retire early, live in the woods, paint, and be vegan. The offer stands forever, FYI. 🙂 Have a fab Monday gorgeous!
Brittany
Brilliant idea..and we can serve wine AND baked goods. I always need places to give my treats to, so this would be perfect. HA!
Food, Booze, & Baggage
That bowls is outstanding…you will have to show what it looks like after it has been fired! I worked in a coffee-shop all through undergrad and can relate. The price thing-ugg then drink your coffee at home no one is forcing you to spend the money and the caramel macchiato (I hated having to confront that one).
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
If you think birds and owls are bad, try roosters. My biggest surprise of all when coming to Kauai was that there are freaking roosters EVERYWHERE — no exaggeration. And they do their rooster song not only when the sun rises, but all freaking day long. Apparently they’re becoming a serious problem because they have no natural predators on the island… Crazy things.
Davida @The Healthy Maven
Spoons- funny story about the chickens in Hawaii. So we were at costco (my family is the only family that would visit costco in Hawaii) and noticed how cheap chicken was there! Obvs it’s cause it’s basically road kill there…
Britt do you hate me right now? I should not post meat related things here. Please don’t hate me.
Abby
Ha ha- I think it’s Kauai’s dirty little secret! I was SHOCKED they were everywhere, too!
Brittany
Amanda – I would probably throw rocks at the singing roosters…annooyyyingg!!
Davida – I forgive you, see above comment.
Abby – Hi.. 🙂
Abby
LOVE your running pants- so fun! Holy- your calves must be screaming today after a winter of running shoes!
How cute is your painted bowl?! I’ve always wanted to go to one of those places to paint something even though I have zero talent in that department!
I say chop your hair! You’d look awesome with a super short cut.
Hmm- my confession today: I ate six cupcakes this weekend and didn’t feel one ounce of guilt!
happyappalachy
The raw vegan banana pie sounds superb… and the Vibrams — looks like you’re running on uneven surfaces there. No problems with that? (I’ve been thinking about taking the plunge.)
Brittany
I’ve been running (off and on depending on the season/weather) in my Vibrams for like 5 years!! I LOVE them. No problems whatsoever! Sure, you can feel every rock under your feet, but as long as you watch where you’re going you will be fine!! I highly recommend them.
jessiebearwhat
Coffee giveaway?? Where/when omg gimme. I love your pottery! And there’s nothing like some rain 😛
Alex @ therunwithin
digging those spandex. and to be honest, you could pull off all those short hair looks. hands down
Amy @ A Desert Girl
Your painting skills are awesome!! That bowl looks PERFECT for some veggies.
And I vote YES JUST DO IT on the short hair. Your face is adorable and you can totally pull off the short hair.
runyourmuttoff
I want to chop off my hair too! My husband get annoyed when I go short with it because I whine all the time that I can’t put it up in a ponytail. But lately all I do is wear ponytails and it’s getting pretty blah. I’m thinking after next weekend’s half marathon, I need to schedule a cut. I need a little push; tell me to do it!
Brittany
DOOO IT! I will if you will….
littleblissbook
Buzz you hair?! Girl don’t do it! And I’m i need some serious painting therapy. I wanna try my hand at calligraphy too. Cute post xx Rakhi
The Zen Kat
Oh hell yeah for giveaways! My confession is that I’m working from home…in my pajamas…on my bed! 🙂
sincerelylily
Cut your hairrrrrrr!!!! OMG- can we do this TOGETHER?!?! post-wedding i am SO ready to chop it off, it is long and all over and sometimes I get tangled. Me no like.
I love your running outfit and am so happy it is warming up foryou! It is still kind of cold here but today I didnt’ wear boots which is like a first since December! Exciting. I love all your starbucks cups… whenever I get coffee from a gas staiton, I always take extra creams and sugars and pocket them…. and keep a supply at home. So we are simliar 😉
Coffeeee giveaway- I got a sweet grinder off our registry so I’m ready for some beans 🙂
Brittany
YES!! I really think I wanna cut it!! DO IT TOO!! I love that you are a condiment hoarder..no shame. I love it. I know a place where you can get beans..lots of them… 😉
Missy
I love your little hippy-azz self. I got a lot of that in me, too.
I can totally see you with a pixie cut.
Adorable (and also? Hot.)
My confession? Nothing has “rocked my face” in a REALLY REALLY long time.
All work. No play.
Need to change that.
Kristina at damntenpounds
There’s an owl that lives in a tree down the street. I hear it every evening when I walk by with the dog and even though I think it’s cool, I would go batshit insane if that was my house. Maybe we can get a two for one on BB guns 😉
Alisha's Appetite
Oooooh painting on a saturday…YES. My dream weekend day! You are hardcore with those shoes, dude!
Amy
2. I LOVE the smell of fresh rain! It’s one of my favorites — all musky and woodsy and earthy and refreshing. But I hate running in it. So go you! 🙂
3. Awww!! I actually really, really liked your long hair! (Well, when you posted photos of it at least. 😉 ) I was jealous. It looked so thick and straight… Just gorgeous!
5. COME VISIT ME AND WE’LL TAKE A ROAD TRIP DOWN TO DISNEYLAND!!! No joke. Seriously. I actually might be driving down to LA 2 weekends from now. (My guy needs to go down for a conference thing, but he’s going to be so worn out after it that it wouldn’t be too safe for him to drive himself back. Hence why I’m invited… The designated “sleep” driver!) Anyway, while he’s super busy both days, it’d be the perfect excuse for us to get some Disney time in!
6. Pretty pretty please, paint me a bowl!! I trade you one of my dad’s wooden ones he’s made!
10. Oh goodness, you are SO brave to run in those. I think I’d die. (And I’m jealous again… I haven’t run in 2 weeks because of a knee injury. I’m dying on the inside. I JUST WANT TO RUN!!!)
Okay, I think that’s all… 🙂
Brittany
NO JOKE, I am actually trying to plan visiting a friend in LA soon. How far are you from there, I would love to get lunch! No plans are set yet, just an idea.
Amy
I’m all the way up near Sacramento, so… About 8 hours. 😦 But if you’re ever in the SF Bay Area, let me know! And even if you do go to LA, let me know too and I can try to find an excuse to go down!
GiGi Eats Celebrities
I KNOW WHO YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT!!! lol!
P
Running is the rain is the best! Only wish I had some woods or a forest nearby to run through :P!
10 miles in Vibrams?! You rock :D!
Life After Swimming
Travis’ aunt works at the distribution center for Starbucks on the east coast, and she doesn’t even drink coffee! 1 lb. a week = lots of coffee for us 🙂
Lauren @ ihadabiglunch
I think you’d kick ass with a buzz cut!
apartmentwife
can you take me with when you move to the forest? i could definitely be OK with hiking and painting in the woods as long as you promised there’d be coffee 🙂
Barbara Bamber | justasmidgen
Hey.. you’d look cute with any haircut and it always grows back:) I can’t wait to see your pie!! Vegan pie!! You know I love that stuff now;) How ever do you run in those at all?? I’ve heard they’re more natural for running, but it’s hard to imagine they’d be comfortable!xx
Brittany
They are MORE comfortable than my tennis shoes, crazy right!?
Choc Chip Uru
You look so happy with your pottery my friend, and the caption sounds so evil it is so adorable!!
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
Nicole
This post was way too fun, and I want to comment on pretty much everything…but then your comment section would explode with my early morning ramblings! Ha ha. 🙂 So let me just say that… Hoarding Starbucks is pure genius, and I wish I had thought of this idea myself… and sooner (as I threw away a perfectly good cup yesterday). The bowl you painted is absolutely adorable! You are adorable! AND your running outfit is not a catastrophe, I promise. You should see some of the outfits I put together for jogging. 😉
Megan
Gah the idea of running barefoot right now makes me weep a little inside. My body hate me… I love all the pictures you have lately! That camera is treating you well.
Brittany
These are ALL iPhone photos. HA! Except the one of the Starbucks cups, but that was at 5am with terrible lighting.
karla @ finding my fit
I have not a single artistic bone in my body but I really want to go to a local wine/arte gallery and do some painting this spring. I need to broaden my horizons.
YES–short hair. You would rock a pixie with your beautiful features!!
ahellams
Your bowl is beautiful!! I love it.
Hannah
You should cut your hair! Do it! You would look great with short hair, and having short hair is so much fun. I miss it, but I promised I’d grow mine out to mermaid length before cutting it again.
I feel you on Disneyland. Before we moved we were going several times a month, but that was almost four years ago. I’m trying to plan a trip for this year, but it’s not looking super likely. I guess I’ll keep listening to Disney music while using my imagination.
Brittany
Several times a month!?!? YOU know how to do Disney, I am impressed!
jessielovestorun
If I fly to you, can we hop on the soonest flight to Disney? Before we go though, lets make some of that vegan banana cream pie to bring a long. You game?
GiGi Eats Celebrities
DONT COMPLAIN TO ME ABOUT NOT BEING TO DISNEY IN 2 YEARS. 😉 You know I am your GOLDEN TICKET TO ENTER. I am just waiting for your arrival. I already have your home away from home bed WAITING FOR YOU… My apartment door is WIDE OPEN… Just like my LEGS ARE FOR DEREK HOUGH… Wait, no. I am OVER HIM – remember?!
Brittany
“Cause I’ve got a golden ticcckkkeett!” WHOA WHOAAAA…XXXXRATED comment!
Kelsey
I reallllyyy want to chop my hair, too…but don’t think I’m quite ready! =)
Rach @ This Italian Family
Christopher holds on to his Starbucks cups too!! He reuses them at home all the time. Cracks me up. 😉
Also, I have never been brave enough to chop my hair super short, but I love when other people do! So do it! I am excited for you already! 😀
Luv What You Do
Your bowl is beautiful!
We have been talking about doing pottery and wine one night. Sounds like a lot of fun!
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I dreamt of shaving all my hair off before I finally cut it short. Just do it. It’s only hair, and if you hate it, it’ll grow back. I’m betting you’ll love it though. You’ll also notice short haired women everywhere.
Very impressive bowl there, in which you’ll destroy veggies. I couldn’t think of a better purpose.
I’m finally hearing the birds, but we still have snow on the ground with more to come. I’m pretty sure this has been the longest winter. Sigh.
Melissa @ Al Forno Mementos
haha I always think about cutting my hair off to a short short length so I don’t have to worry about putting it all pretty and stuff … but then I remember I have a fat face. sigh.
cute bowl! Love doing artsy fartsy stuff!
