Yesterday my friend and I hit the streets of a local town and enjoyed the lovely fall day.
Something about wandering outside with leaves littered along the streets makes me feel so warm and full of life. I had the most wonderful day, and fall continues to make me swoon. There were plenty of photo ops, and naturally I had to take part.
I’m not sure what’s going on the last photo, my face is clearly facing the wrong way. This is definitely my kind of girl though, having two of the same outfit. I also ran into Gigi, and by ran into I mean I superimposed her face into the hole next to mine so I wouldn’t be alone.
I also made some new friends.
The only downside was not being able to find any vegan treats. Only one bakery had a slab of cake (only one option) but I didn’t have cash and that’s all they accepted. I went into every cafe/bakery in attempts to find something. While rounding a corner to another cafe, we saw some local hippies dancing at an intersection. My friend called them crazy, I called them intriguing. So…I went and danced for 19 seconds with no shame.
I don’t know what compelled me to do this, but it was liberaring!! What I do know is that my dancing skills are zero (I was trying to mimic that lady) and this lady had the hairiest armpits I have ever seen. Once I saw that I ran the other way. Dance on my friends!
We ended our afternoon at a coffee shop that was connected to a wine bar with live music. I swooned so hard over the guy singing. His voice was like a combination of Fergie and Jesus. Inside the adorable coffee shop I saw the most adorable sign. I want.
Amen.
Q: Do you like wandering cute local towns?

We had such an AMAZING DAY YESTERDAY!!! Grinding up on those hippies like we do poles at the club… Splashing around in the leaves telling spiders they can SUCK IT – we are going to cause an earthquake of their home…. Transforming into sexy witches, aliens and Frankensteins….. Man, this must be what it feels like to be in a movie starring Lindsey Lohan!
Amy @ A Desert Girl
Pegasus Coffee looks like a dream come true kind of place.
And I loooooove the video. Dance on, folks. Dance on.
kathy @ vodka and soda

kelly @ racesrepsramblings

omg that picture of you and gigi is beyond!!! I dance by myself on the busy streets of toronto regularly…occasionally someone throws me some change. Anything for a little extra cash you know?
Brittany
Oh dear Lord that is amazing, I am legit jealous of your free change.
kcriemer
The foliage looks GORGEOUS out there by you lady! It’s been ‘seattle-like’ all week here. misty AMs & i think the sun has peaked its face all of 10 min since monday.
that sign is so perfect, i need that as well. i’m going to a coffee/wine bar tonight. it wont be as fun as the one you saw though cause it’s on a busy college campus. bleghh
Hannah
What a fun day! I would have totally danced with the hippies too. Why not, right?
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
That witch picture is basically the definition of working it — OW OW! And your mention of the lady’s hairy armpits reminds me of a time I was riding a bus in Warsaw and a lady with hairy pitskies got on board and stood right over me holding the pole. Omg I couldn’t look away — you could have literally braided it! Eventually I offered her my seat because I just couldn’t handle it anymore…
Brittany
AHH I would have died..and then moved. HAHA!
Amy
You. Are. My. HERO!!! Dancing with strangers?? (And doing a better job, I might add?) AMAZING! Your picture with the frog reminds me of high school… There was a 3-year-old’s carousel outside of one of our local grocery stores, and I climbed on as an 18-year-old while my friends snapped pictures. One of the best memories! 🙂
di @ life of di.
I love wandering around cute little towns! Yet another thing we could do together if we lived closer. 😦 Also, that coffee house looks amazing! So charming and picturesque!
Emily
HAHAHAHAHAHH i love you, a lot. And I want to live in that leafy building with you.. it’s a beaut!
spectacuLAUR
LOL to the dance video with the hippies. You rock! And I love all of these fall pictures. My favorite pictures from high school were always in the fall months. The leaves just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! And I want my entire house to be covered in autumn colored leaves… I wonder if that’s an option when building a home….?
Heather @ HeatherRunsFast.com
You just made my week with that hippie dance video. MADE.MY.WEEK. Those leaves make me so jealous! Currently (at 6:38PM) it’s 85 degrees. No bueno! I can’t believe you couldn’t find anything vegan… guess that’s the downside to small towns… they aren’t always “up with the times” haha. SUch a fun day!
Alisha's Appetite

Um…you have to boogie down when it’s Jamaroquai playing! Just realized that reference is almost 20 years old *sigh*. Anyway, this entire post is what makes me love your blog so much! Thanks for the inspiration. The days here are starting to be perfect fall weather and it’s time to go exploring.
Christina Does It All
Baha, I adore you! We would be the greatest of friends if we just lived a TEENSY bit closer. And we would dance with hippies together and such.
Luv What You Do

veganmiam.com
The leaves are so pretty! I can’t wait to see fall again in oregon!
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I’m glad you danced with abandon, publicly with the local hippies. That might be me one day, although I’m well acquainted with my razor, and I plan on keeping it that way.
These are great pictures, and it looks like a picture perfect day, minus cake. Maybe you should move there and open a vegan bakery. The kind where you let your cats hang out in the shop.
Maximus aka Max
I would like to hang out in your vegan bakery and be the official taste tester. Meow.
Brittany
Oh emmm Efffff Geee. This is the best comment I have ever received. Max, you’re welcome in my bakery anytime you would like.
Megan
Bahahah I love your dancing skills and super strange cut out face pictures! NO WONDER YOU WEREN’T TEXTY ALL DAY. YOU WERE CHEATING ON ME WITH GIGI. OKay but for reals you look so happy. Your footwear makes me question if you are indeed a hippie as well hahah
Brittany
I have many other qualities and tendencies that might make you question…perhaps I will share those with the world sometime. HAHA.
Melanie @ HappyBeingHealthy
The fall leaves look beautiful and I’m loving ALL of your pictures!! I especially LOVE that Frankenstein one! And kudos to you for dancing in the street with strangers. I love it!!!
Amy
hahahahhahahhah omg….I totally would have danced with them too! So much fun 🙂
Sarah @ Feeeding the Brain and Body
I like roaming period. It doesn’t matter if it is a cute local town, but all the better if it is! I love that you joined in the dance, I guess there has got to be something freeing about dancing on the street! Loving the fall photos!
Katherine
Those leaves are gorgeous! They look like they’re fake because the colors are so beautiful. Even if you’re roaming around a local town, it’s still so much fun! Personally I think dancing is quite freeing, so I see no shame there. 🙂 You’ve got some moves girl!
Barbara Bamber | justasmidgen
I want that sign!!! Ok, I was sort of a hippy, but my armpits were never hairy, but I did like dancing.. still do, but never on a street corner:D You had your own little flash mob!! xx
Katy
I love wandering around small local towns and just getting lost. I like going alone though so I can really take my time and not worry about someone else.
Elizabeth
why do you have to live so far away??!?! 😦 I live adjacent to a perfectly delightful small town just made for wandering. you should come wander it with me. 🙂
Ja @Ja on the RUN

Lauren
Those are the best kind of days – going out with no plan and seeing where the day takes you. Who would of thought…dancing with hippies and bullfrog rides!!! Perfect combo – like Fergie and Jesus!
allieksmith
That video of you dancing with the hippies? Epic. Haha. Pretty much made my day. I wish we could hang out in real life… I promise I shave my armpits!
