I don’t shop for “regular” clothes often. I get easily frazzled, and I rarely find things that I like. Running clothes are a different story, I could max out my savings on running gear. When I do find something “regular” I like, I will buy multiple of that one item if possible.
Same shirt, one pink and one black.
Same dress, flip flopped colors.
Same jacket, one pink and one black. I also had one in yellow that I gave away.
Same flannel..one red and one blue.
Do you see the pattern? Well, the other day I mentioned I bought a new dress. I immediately fell in love, but then I saw the same dress in a different pattern. I tried to figure out which one I loved more, and ended up going with my second choice. When I got home I showed my mom and told her my dilemma, and she said the most magical words, “Go get the other one, why not have both!?” GENIUS! So I did..dilemma solved.
My mom told me I look like a Mennonite with my hair like this. Isn’t she sweet? I actually wear my hair like this a lot, it’s just easy. The very next day a visibly drunk guy came into my work and told me he liked my hair. Thanks man..thanks.
I LOVE the black one the most, but the colorful one is fun too. I am so obsessed with these! I would like to note that tights are probably one of the worst articles of clothing to put on. I would compare myself to two cats in a brawl while trying to maneuver into these tights, but they sure sucked me in! As you can see I have been spending a good amount of time in my windowless dungeon working on my pasty white glow.
If anyone is curious, yes I took the cover from your grandmas couch to make these dresses. I am clearly channeling my inner old soul. So there you have it, if you find something you like..buy DOUBLE. HAH! Also, please don’t judge my photo quality. I felt lazy taking these photos, and my iPhone is starting to struggle. Happy Friday!

I had always been an Android user until two months ago. I decided to switch to the iPhone because I prefer the pictures it takes to the Android! That is seriously the only reason I decided to make the switch. Still miss the Android operating system but I do love the great iPhone camera 🙂
PS- I love those dresses. Very adorable and vintage! My favorite is the first photo but I like both 🙂 I do the same thing with a lot of my clothes!

I totally do that with my clothes too. If I find something I like, well it doesn’t happen too often…so I usually buy the same things in different colors. Hey, if it works you got to just let that happen.
Especially because you already know it looks good, so you might as well cut out half of the work of finding something else that looks good and just buy multiples. Well, I look at it that way at least.
I have an iphone and don’t think it takes the best photos. I hear the new version is better at that, but whatever mines good enough for now.

I HAVE THE iPHONE 4 too!!! We are seriously twinners. I refuse to get a new one until this one dies..I’m due for an upgrade, but no…NOT UNTIL IT’S DEAD! Ohh man I get my running stuff all over the place. Usually JCPenny or Macy’s and SOMETIMES Target!!

I’m the opposite in terms of clothes shopping. I can buy regular day clothes all day long, but I get completely overwhelmed by running/workout clothes!

Oh girl, the black dress is so cute, especially with the cat. A cat is definitely the best accessory to wear in life hahaha. I do this too. If I find something comfortable and cute then I’m definitely going to get it in all colors possible. I do this with shoes mainly because I have such big feet, it is very hard to find awesome shoes.

Gorgeous dresses. I agree that the black is classier but the colour on the pinkish one is beautiful and feminine (and so are you!!). Very wise to buy two of the favourite items. I never do that and I always wish I had a backup when I wear the first one out! xx

Ha I have to laugh because I do the SAME thing!!! Like actually, my jeans are all the same with different washes, same with dress pants, t shorts, etc. running clothes are the one place I like to add some style. Ironic, isn’t it? I think we are twins. I HATE shopping for the exact same reasons. I mostly just shop for workout clothes….everything else is a huge struggle. When I do shop, I do buy the same thing in many different colors. Your dress is super cute btw! 🙂

I do the same, especially in jeans/pants because it’s very difficult to find pants that fit me properly. But something odd happens between the store and my house. In the dressing room I love the way clothing looks – – and then I get home and try the same thing on and think I look awful. Is it the mirrors…?

I am convinced most places have special mirrors designed to make us look better in the clothes!! I have the same problem sometimes hahaha. I get home and I think, “WHOA that bulge was not there in the dressing room.” HA! Smart tactic!

I am the SAME way when it comes to clothes shopping! I rarely find anything I like, especially jeans. Those are the WORST because if they fit right in the hips, they don’t fit in the rear, and if the fit in the rear, they don’t fit in the thighs, and if they fit in the thighs, they’re waaaay too short or I’m tripping over the extra 5″ of fabric at the bottom. Arg!
So I definitely do the same thing and buy 52 of the same thing if it fits. For example, I now have… Umm… (Sorry I have to go count…) 16 of the same “long and lean” tank top from Target, all in different colors. (1) They’re SOOO comfy! and (2) they aren’t that expensive. (At least, that’s how I’m justifying my purchases. And I DO make them at different times; I didn’t buy all 16 at once!)
Your mom is so sweet to encourage you to buy both!! Where’d you find them? I think the black one is my favorite too; it looks perfect on you! And your hair like that is super cute — both your mom and the drunk/hungover guy have great taste. 🙂

Me and shopping have a very complicated relationship. We go through periods of mutual adoration, followed by stretches of outright avoidance. I’m pretty sure this is in no way healthy, but it seems to work for us. We’ve been “together” for years now, and I figure we’ll stick it through to the end. And I literally just bought two of the same sweater in different colours the other day so… yeah… I can relate 😉

2) Nothing better than compliments from drunk dudes. Beer goggles are a wonderful thing.
3) I love the black one best, too. But they’re both adorable as are you in them, pasty glow and all.
4) I have a Droid ZTEN9120 and it takes okay pics. That could be, of course, be because I usually have frosting or cat schmootz smudged on the lens.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve bough 2 of something in 2 different colours. A LOT of times that is how many 😉 I figure if I like something and it comes in more colours why not get more than 1.
I think I like the black one best too but both are cute! I have an iPhone 5, it takes good photos but I have an SLR and when I switch to that I realize just how much better the photos on the good camera are!

i have the HTC One and it’s the SHIZNIT. as in it takes photos in burst mode and also takes AMAZING pics in low light. all those pics i took in the acquarium today and yesterday at disney during the fireworks at 9pm at night? NO FLASH and all the pics came out amazing.

YOU ARE A GENIUS! I have never bought double before but I often think, “Man, I love this shirt, I were it way too much and people are probably noticing. I should have bought it in another colour” – happens to me ALL THE TIME! I love the dresses. Love them, and your hair – it looks like it would take me hours and I would fail miserably. Why you gotta be SO CUTE!!!

LOVE it! I don’t typically buy the same thing in more than one color for 1 simple reason, my red hair and pale skin only goes with a few colors! lol I guess it works out that I end up spending less money, but sometimes I would love to have the same thing in a diff color!

I actually know EXACTLY what you mean about feeling anxious, which is why I always try to figure out which one I like more. I don’t always want to spend the extra $$, but when things are cheap I go for it! These dresses were only $14!!

I am the same way! I’m kind of stingy when it comes to buying clothes EXCEPT for when it comes to running clothes. I have to put blinders on whenever I walk into a running store or I’ll drain my wallet dry. 😉 But last time I found a “regular” shirt I liked, I bough two of them in different colors and am honestly thinking a third one needs to happen… I love them and they’re super comfy so why not? haha
And hahaha too funny about the drunk guy that liked you hair. There’s THE reason to keep wearing it like that. 😉

I have a stretchy, fleecy layer that I love to wear when I skate- REI discontinued it! I’ve had several through the last few years and now I just have one that’s completely threadbare. Oh my gosh, I am the same way when it comes to my clothes. I would live in yoga pants (not that I do yoga) or gym sweats if I could. I detest “regular” clothes shopping and usually only do it when my ma gives me a gift card somewhere and I usually just do it online then. And I always double up if I can like yourself. I have had the same 3-4 jeans for like forever and I’m gettin’ real scared because the other day I noticed a hole developing in a uh, not so discreet location.
I like both dresses! My phone takes so-so pics and I have an iphone 4 (not 4s). A great app for helping to enhance photos is vscocam (?). My partner has an iphone 4s and his pictures are significantly better than the ones I take on my phone especially in low light.
