1. My black cat is starting to get grey hair. He is five, which means he is around a million years old in cat years. I’ve been helping him by plucking any that I find, he needs to find himself a nice girl to settle down with. Just kidding, he’s a mamas boy.
2. I have been enjoying a lot of nature. Big surprise.
3. My soul feels full of life after spending time with old friends.
4. I have been eating the most random food creations. I have been coming home at the end of my days ravenous, and waiting even 5 minutes for some cous cous to cook just isn’t going to work. Insert, “anything I can wrap inside a tortilla.”
5. I ate a few things this week that had dairy in them. Oops. C’est la vie.
6. My running has been amazing. I just don’t know where my “speed” is coming from, but I am surely not complaining. My last run was exactly one second faster per mile than my fastest pace. Making this overall time 7 seconds faster than my fastest time. Every single second counts. EVERY SINGLE ONE! 8:xx/miles here I come!
7. I have a blog post in my drafts that has been there for almost a month. I am struggling to find the courage to post it.
8. Lately I have had a lot of faith. Faith in life, faith in my future, and faith in myself. I found a new ring that I promptly bought for myself without a second thought. I love it.
It’s perfect.
9. My blogging has been very lazy lately. I’ve been rather boring, and rather busy. Instead of blogging about my cats diarrhea, and boring meals, I just don’t blog. You all understand.
10. Most recipes I make are a one time deal unless I drool excessively. There are a few recipes I swear by, and my energy bites are one of them. I make them way too much.
Q: What’s your confession?

Alex @ therunwithin
i think this is why you have to be one of my favorite bloggers. I can always relate so much to just the rambles and I just freaking love your sense of humor. while I am anxious to hear about that draft post, I will instead focus on the amazingness of your killer runs (way to knock it out of the park!) and the grossness of cat diarrhea. Ha! Have a great Sunday lady!
Colin DeWaay
Your speed probably came from not caring so much about the speed! Good job!
Tessa @ Amazing Asset
Woot yay for those great runs you are experiencing… what a wonderful and accomplished feeling that is 🙂 I’m happy for you, because I know you are working hard
I would love to read that post you are reluctant to publish… but only put it out there when you are ready! Getting feedback from this community can be so helpful, although I do understand it being scary as well. Either way I fully support your beautiful self!
I have been blogging less and less too, and it’s totes fine. Although you know I would love to hear about the kitty’s pooping issues 😉
Katherine
OMG! That little story about your cat is hilarious! My cat is probably a billion years old, but he is still all white. He’s a baby at heart! Congrats on your running girl! You are doing AMAZING! No worries about the lack of blog posts when you are cranking out some crazy fast miles! Energy bites are taking the web by storm right now, and I’ve yet to try my hand at a recipe. Sunday baking may just be your little recipe! Thanks Brit!
Michelle @ Eat Move Balance
I feel like I’ve been a little bored with blogging lately, too. I think it’s the time of year. I just have so many FUN things going on. I’d rather focus on that and enjoy it.
pickyrunner
You’re awesome. Plain and simple. Your confessions never fail to make me laugh (especially when I’m dying of boredom on the lifeguard chair…) I hope you find the courage to post the draft soon! I know you’ll have overwhelming support from all of your readers. But for now I’ll just keep telling you how happy I am to hear about your runs going well. Have a great day girlfrannnnn
Amalia
Whether or not you blog about your cats diarrhea I will always love reading your posts. Love the ring, love the list of early morning confessions, love your blog! ❤
I desperately want a second cup of coffee this morning. That's my confession. And I'm totally going to go get it soon.
Em @ Have Your Cake And
I’m in the same boat my love! I’d rather not blog than blog about my weird life right now. It would mostly be complaining/ranting/venting. Do I really want the world to see me that way?!?! Oh and totally random but I just bought a bathing suit with similar pattern to your blog background.. haha 🙂
Brittany
Ohhh your bathing suit must be adorable!!
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
I love your confessions posts, your writing style and your sense of humor. Too bad your black cat is on the lookout for a boy. We could have hooked him up with Max, who is sporting one grey whisker. He’s also twelve so he’s considered geriatric on the vet’s chart, and of course you know about his penchant for bread.
Hit publish on the draft. The curiosity is killing me. I’m a cat person which means we’re naturally curious. You understand.
My confession: I went strawberry picking yesterday and then I came home and spent a good hour or two cleaning and hulling the strawberries….topless. Some days I like to free boob it.
Brittany
Shit is that why I am so curious/nosy!? And all this time I thought everyone was just as annoying as I was. Damn cat lady in me! I took my 15yr old cat to the vet last month and when I saw they have a chart for them and called them geriatric I laughed way harder than I should have.
OH MY gosh…you just became my favorite person for the fact you hulled that fruit topless. If only I could enjoy being that free. I’ll run around without pants any day, but my girls need support hahaha. Embrace the free boob nation.
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
Viva la revolution.
Hayley
I’m definitely in a phase where I just put anything I can fit into a tortilla and shove it in my mouth. It works when I have 3 minutes before I leave for school and need something to eat with one hand while I drive. Post that one in your drafts …… now I’m nosey and anxious to hear and I’m sure I will nod my head the entire time (whatever it is about). But hopefully it isn’t about your cat’s diarrhea…
Alex (Veggin' Out in the Kitchen)
I totally hear you on the “I don’t wait to wait one minute for food” thing. I’ve definitely eaten my fair share of protein bars, applesauce cups, and other ready to go food lately…
I’m so excited for you with your running! I ran this morning for the first time in well over a month and only went about two miles, but apparently my fastest mile was under nine minutes so I was pretty excited! If only I could keep that up… someday, someday.
And I’m definitely going to make those energy bites asap. They look incredibly delicious and super easy to make. Win, win 🙂
spectacuLAUR
I love any post you post whether it’s the next day or the next month. And since you comment and keep in touch, it’s what’s important! Whenever I feel like I shouldn’t post something, I ask myself if it’s something I really need feedback on. If it’s a yes, then post it because you’ll be amazed by how much you can learn from other people 😀
I ran out of food last week so I’m alllll about the throwing random shit together meals!
Meredith
Your blog posts are never boring, they are all awesome 🙂 and old friends are the best friends!
I confess after reading this, now I need to make energy bites : -)
sugarcoatedsheridan
I love your confessions! And great job running!!
Whatever post you are trying to find the courage to post, I really hope it comes to you because I’m sure it is truly amazing and heart felt if it’s been there that long and you haven’t published it yet 🙂
Lou
Post it.
Brittany
Best comment ever. I will..I will I promise.
foods for the soul
I bought my peace ring for a similar reason! It was also because I was stressed all of the time and needed to remember to calm down and have a little faith… Easier said than done! 😉
Choc Chip Uru
I need that recipe for energy balls my friend, I must confess, they look brilliant 😀
Cheers
CCU
Brittany
https://blissfulbritt.com/2012/10/15/love/
😉 Also, I rarely make them with the coconut, but either way they are delicious!
P
Even on my ravenous days, I can fortunately hold out for 3 minutes—longe enough to pop a sweet potato in the microwave, top it with taco sauce, and add rice seasoning. But an apple and spinach leaf wrap sounds pretty appetizing!!
As for #7, you can do it girl!! 😀
Britta
Way to go on you run! Thats freaking phenomenal. I had a bruuuuttallll run this morning – it was just bad on so many levels. haha I’m loving the wrap! I’m fairly sure anything inside of a tortilla tastes good 😀 ESPECIALLY when you’re starving!
Taryn
“My soul feels full of life after spending time with old friends.” – THIS. I will be reuniting with old friends in a couple weeks, and I can’t wait to feel like that.
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate
How long do cats normally live?
Brittany
I’ve known some cats that have made it to 20!! My cat really isn’t old at all, but I have no idea why he is getting white hairs already hahaha. I have another cat that is around 16.
Sarah @ Feeeding the Brain and Body
You mean you aren’t going to tell us about your cat’s diarrhea? No fair! Just teasing 🙂 I am curious to know what this post draft is about..confessions like that always make me wonder! I thought I was having weird combinations of foods, but yours wins haha. Maybe that is what is giving you the speed?
cleaneatingveggiegirl
I say….post that post!! No judgment will be found here! 🙂
Rach @ This Italian Family
Surely you won’t tease us like that… mention a post and then not share it…… you wouldn’t do that… right?? Seriously though, remember that this corner of the internet is yours so you should feel free to share what you want. And remember that there are people out there who you’ve never met, but still love you and accept you and want to be there for you (ahem, I would be one of those people in case you are confused 😉 ). Aaaanyway, even if you decide not to post it, know that I’m here for ya if you ever need to talk!
Oh! And I’m glad you shared your energy ball bites again. I had forgotten about your recipe on here. I’m gonna pin those and make them sometime! 🙂
Brittany
Of course I wouldn’t tease! I will post the draft, I promise I will!! Specifically because friends like YOU will be there to hold my hand! Thank you my friend! As for the bites, you won’t regret making them!
GiGi Eats Celebrities
5 years old in cat years is a TINY TINY BABY!!!! My grand parents had a cat for 25 years!!!! NOW THAT CAT WAS ANCIENT! Literally died like 2937824738 times but not actually! Remember that CAT (Binx, I think) in the movie HOCUS POCUS – yeah that was their cat! Dead yet alive! LOL!
And I am curious about that blog post that you haven’t posted yet. Is it about how much you love me?! Or is it you typing blind folded? Or about how your epic adventures with Rocky and Bull Winkle?! Regardless, I MuST SEE IT!!
Brittany
Bahaha oh man I know, my cat is hella young..I HAVE NO IDEA WHY HE IS GOING GREY! YES it was Binx..bahaha I loved that movie. I would never hide my love for you in my draft bin..I will sing that loud and proud!
GiGi Eats Celebrities
Oh and confession: seriously considering going on the Bachelor! LMFAOOOOO!
Brittany
DOOOO IT! I will vote for you…can I do that!? HAHAHA!
Heather @ HeatherRunsFast.com
Yes! Do it!
Brittany @ GOtheXtraMile
I freakin’ love you. I love hearing about your cats diarrhea, you are never boring! Post the blog post you haven’t yet! You know the blog world has got your back 🙂
Brittany @ DulceVie
Haha I loved reading this! I love how honest you are on your blog. I am too afraid to spill my feeling, but hopefully I can in the future. Anyway, props to you for sharing!
Courtney
Congrats on your run, and I LOVE the ring!! 🙂
jessielovestorun
Girl, if you wanna post the post, post it.. if not, let it sit in your draft for as long as possible. It’s not like it can collect dust or anything =)
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Have faith and POST the post 😀 You’ll feel 100x better after you do – promise. I was kind of struggling with the same thing for a while there, but as always, nothing I worried about actually happened. Aaaaand confession: my encouragement mostly comes down to the fact that now you’ve got me crazy curious 😛
Khushboo Thadani (@KhushbooThadani)
Confession posts are my favorite :)! I think you should ahead and post the draft- I’m almost certain that several people will be able to relate more than you think!
PNWRunner
Never thought about apples with spinach and a tortilla wrap!! That is thinking outside the box for sure! I must try the energy bites…my mom has been asking me to experiment and make some! My pom started getting a gray/white face around 4-5. I am still convinced she is 3 years old. Haha!
allieksmith
I know what you mean about finding courage to blog about certain things. Sometimes it feels good to get it off of your chest, though. Have faith in yourself! I love that ring 🙂
Erin
I love your little nature self!! And that apple wrap is actually looking pretty darn good to me right now!
Alyssa @ Road to RD
Instead of a wrap, I mix anything and everything with brown rice! I’m sure if you find the courage to post your draft, you’ll be met with tons of support from the blog world 🙂
thoughtsappear
I’m so curious about the draft blog post. Post it…Post it…Post it…. Is the chanting helping?
Alex @ Brain, Body, Because
Will it make you feel better to post it? If so, then DO IT! I guarantee that any feelings you express will be met with empathy and support.
On the other hand, don’t feel pressured to post to be 100% transparent/honest with us. You don’t have to tell us anything that you don’t want to tell us. Not sure if that makes sense. But I know that sometimes people criticize bloggers for not being completely transparent, which I think is totally bullshit. It’s our lives! We don’t have to tell anything that we don’t want to tell.
xoxoxoxoxo!!!!
Brittany
I agree with you 100% about the criticizing people being total bullshit. I DEFINITELY will not be spilling dirty details of my every waking moment, and never will. I don’t think people are “fake” just because they don’t share their deep dark secrets, this is not the place for that. Thank you for your comment and support! I will be hitting publish very soon!
Megan
Do you mind bringing some of these energy bites my way when you come? That would be greatly appreciated. I actually just looked at the recipe and think I have every thing in my house. I’d rather you bring them from Washington though…
You are a speedy speedster and better slow it down or I’ll never be able to keep up with you in March… my my how the tables have turned : )
Lisa
Definitely post that post girl! I guarantee you’ll feel a million time better once it’s out there! I’ve had those thoughts about certain posts, and it ends up being the best thing!
We always seem to think the worst will happen – but it never does.
And your energy bites look amazing! I’ve been all about Snacking on balls. Which sounds um…wrong when I wrote that out. Awesome.
Brittany
Bahaha love the end of your comment. AH yes, I know the sky will not fall on me and this draft will get posted soon. I am like 96% ready! HA!
sincerelylily
your blogs are not boring!!! i know the feeling though… i feel like all i have been doing is things around weddings to go to and weddings and blah.
I LOOOOOVOVOVOVOVOOVE that ring. super cute. What size finger are you? (im not creepy just wondering in case i see something that would glorify your fingers.)
Pineconessssss. you should start collecting them and make a really pretty wreath or tablescape. And then sell them and buy more jewelry and runner gear. Actually, you make things, and then I’ll buy a shop and we can open a store together. We can sell your bake goods too. I can…. manage sales? I am not talented as you so my skills are limited. I can maybe start waxing eyebrows on the side and offer than at our cute chic bake good/gift store.
Brittany
My finger is a 6.5!! However I should say 7 just to be safe! Yes..7..size 7. 77777777.
Ohhh I would love to sell baked good and eyebrowing in the same location, I can’t say I’ve seen that done yet. We will be the first! Eat a brownie while you get waxed..yes..this will be a success.
Nicole @ FruitnFitness
Oh no I hope your cat is okay, diarrhea can’t be any fun to clean up. My Bentley is 5 and is starting to get some grey hairs around his nose. He can’t get any older. He needs to stay is crazy young self forever.
Heather @ HeatherRunsFast.com
Early Morning Confessions are my fave! Love the apple wrap idea. Anything is good in a tortilla 😉 The speed Gods are shining down on you… embrace the fastness, haha. And, um, is that a long sleeve shirt you wore on your run?! JEALOUS! My dog is 5, too… oh how quickly they grow up, haha. Can’t wait to read your Draft Post, whether its tomorrow or in a month, go with your gut. Your energy ball filled gut 🙂
Brittany
YES it was a long sleeve shirt! HA more like a light jacket! It’s been chilly here, although today is SO muggy it’s disgusting.
Amy @ A Desert Girl
Rockstar on the newest PR!! Keep it up – you’re doing awesome.
Oh and I am LOVING that faith ring.
An Unrefined Vegan
Publish it!!

I love that speed girly! And am so jealous of your nature loving self because I know you’re in Seattle and I know I want to be there too. 🙂 Ahhh! Love it.
Blogging is something that is done for you, and only you, so post when you want, as you want. Find the courage to post it if you can, knowing that you’ll be greeted warmly with tons of support from this wonderful community.
🙂 Have a wonderful day girly!
missymiller
You left a comment on my blog a while back about going through some sads but weren’t wanting to “talk” about it. I never told you this but I suspected as much even before you wrote that — and ever since I have been thinking about you (no joke! When I am swimming laps, when I am walking my dog… you are in my thoughts and heart and I have said prayers for you) because I have a feeling I know what may have been the thing and … well… its one that I am well versed in. And it MF hurts. And even when it doesn’t hurt anymore… it’s still sad. And hard.
Seems like things have been adjusting for you, however, and that makes me HAPPY!!!
Why am I writing all this?
Just want you to know that you have a TON of support out here and writing about what is on your mind is such a freeing thing. So, if that blog post is about what I think or not, you don’t need courage girl. We luv ya!
Also — I could be totally wrong about what I think you are going through… but just know that you have friendlys out here in blog world who care enough.
Brittany
E-MAILING YOU NOW!!! ❤ ❤
Luv What You Do
I pluck my grey hairs too! And I should probably settle down…I am much older than 5. I think you should continue to blog when you feel it. It’s meant to be fun and inspiring and reassuring. That being said, when it’s not…take a break and get out for a speedy run in nature (and know that you don’t even have to tell us about it) He he! Have a great week!
Christina Does It All
hahaha ohh i absolutely adore you. please come hang out with me at your soonest convenience. 😉

also…if you ever want to email me about anything….christina.boudreaux@ctx.edu. would love to be your email pen-pal 😀

THANK you my friend!!
Melissa @ Mouthwatering Morsel
I’m kinda the same way with blogging. And always in love with your nature posts. 🙂
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats
Post that draft blog post, now!!! I have posted before on my blog and felt scared but have always been very supported by the blog community, whatever it is I’m sure you will get the same support 🙂
Aww poor aging kitty 🙂
Well done on the speed with your running, that is so good!!
kathy @ vodka and soda
i hear you on the no blogging part. work is killing me and i hate it yet love it. i’m also trying to get over a damn cold/cough that’s making me not want to workout/run 😦
whatever you post, you know your blog readers will always support you.
Elizabeth
my confession for the day; I gasped out loud with intense longing for one of those energy bites. Yum.
WAY TO GO on the speedy running! Yay!
Life After Swimming
Your nature shots are always amazing. I am so excited for your running too 🙂
di @ life of di.
I always love your blog posts 🙂 You are one of my very favorite blogger’s to follow (honestly, you’re probably the one I see myself being closest to in ‘real’ life.) No worries about not publishing that post yet – do or don’t – it’s up to you! You have a ton of support either way, my friend.
Brittany
I have to agree, I just know we would be GREAT “real life” friends!!
Ellie
I concur that sometimes it’s just best to not write at all if the inspiration or need isn’t there. 🙂 I’m the same way and I’m too busy to try to post everyday and thus, my random blogging schedule, hehe. Also, a great time with old friends can never be replaced! It’s such a unique and satisfying feeling to be able to get together and bond with them.
Lucy @ Lucy On The Lookout
Loved reading this list Britt 🙂 As for the post that you’re struggling to post – I sometimes get that feeling too, and I don’t push myself if it feels too uncomfortable. It’s definitely been helpful though that the longer I spend in the blogging world, the more I realise that people here are non-judgemental and supportive. So just take your time as needed! Oh, and pluck out a grey hair, and 10 will come to its funeral, just sayin’ 😉
Ja @Ja on the RUN
1.) You pluck your cat’s hair? LOL!
2.) I love love love nature too. 🙂
6.) That’s awesome! I can’t wait to run 8:xxmin/mile. I just started last year and I know I need to do more training to get there! 🙂 But really! Happy for your accomplishment! Every second counts!!! 🙂
7.) Do it! LOL! It took me a lot of courage to post my “yogas” experience and it was a relief! 🙂 I knew I had to share it! 🙂
8.) Love it!
kaityscooking
hahha i am the same way lately, if it takes 5 minutes from start to finish it’s not happening and throwing whatever into a salad. Awesome time on the run! once i stop looking at my watch every few minutes i def see my speed getting better. I have been eating stuff with dairy too and get sick every time, but that pizza calls me back for more
betunada
(you put out) so much to puzzle, ruminate, ponder, over. however: 1. can you send me a big bunch of those energy bites? 2. as you speed up running, approaching the sub-8 barrier, i think you’ll achieve it when i finally, after YEERS of running, inevitably push through to the other side (irrevocably ‘above’ 8. i’m hovering …)
Allison @ Life's a Bowl
Anything in a wrap is always tasty, always. Wahoo on your recent speedy runs… That is awesome! I definitely appreciate when bloggers take a step back from posting all the time when they don’t have much to say rather than trying to whip something out of thin air… And it’s summer – take advantage of the beauuutiful weather 🙂
Allie
You’re going to have to buy your kitty some Just for Men (Just for Cats? I’m sure they actually do make fur-dye for cats. Somewhere out there.). Things-in-a-tortilla sounds like a perfect solution to those occasions you just need food NOW. Congrats on your running success!
yogachic1212
I just want to let you know that this post is really inspiring and uplifting. Seeing (I guess reading) about how positive someone else is kinda gives you your own sense of hope and optimism! Your black kitty cat is adorable, mine is 3 and she already has some grays!! Also, I love the apples in the wrap haha! Hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
P.S. Love the name 😉
Brittany
Aww this comment made my day, thank you so much.
runner1313
I confess to being addicted to runners high.
Barbara Bamber | justasmidgen
My confession? That I needed cheering up today and your blog did just that:) I don’t care how often you post, I know that when I get here, you’ve got lots to put a smile on my face. And I was trying to remember which blogger made those Energy Bites because I’ve wanted to make them too! So, yay!! You’ve posted them again. I think I need that ring.. I’m going to look for one today. Do you mind telling me if it’s a “brand” or just a lucky find?? xx
blissfulbritt
Aww you are one of my favorites ever, thank you. The ring was a lucky find, but I got it at Khols. It’s part of the itty bitty collection or something like that! Have a great rest of your weekend!
