Posted at 7:00 AM by Brittany, on February 2, 2016

    1. Anytime I write a post, I ensure it’s posted on the hour, on the half hour, or if all else fails a time ending in a 5. Minor OCD moments. I also like my radio/TV volume to be on an even number. OK I’m going to stop now.

    2. After randomly discovering that my most popular recipe was made by a “famous Youtuber” I felt inspired to bake some muffins.

    img_6958

    Buckwheat banana chocolate muffins.

    img_6959

    3. I was happy with the results of my muffins on the first attempt at this recipe which almost never happens. The flavor is mild making it more versatile.

    1.5 cups buckwheat flour

    1/2 cup rolled oats

    1/2 tsp baking soda

    1 tsp cinnamon

    3 ripe mashed bananas

    half a pinch of stevia

    1/4 vanilla almond milk

    1/2 cup chocolate chips

Combine all dry ingredients together in a medium bowl. In a separate large bowl mix together the bananas and milk. Slowly pour dry ingredients into wet until well combined. Bake at 350F in a greased muffin pan for 16 minutes, after 16 minutes I turned off my oven but left the muffins in the oven for 3 more minutes. Makes 9 muffins.

Note: the mildness of these muffins means they aren’t overly sweet, which makes them the perfect transport vehicle to top with nut butters/jams/coconut oil/pudding/you name it. To make these sweeter simply add some sugar.

    4. I’m jazzed to start riding my bike more with nicer weather, but finally realize why when I bought it they suggested I get fenders. I was all like “ppppppffftt fenders schmenders.” Until riding in the rain and getting soggy bottoms and mud everywhere.

    img_7081

    5. I tried BBQ jackfruit for the first time – stopppppp. So much yes.

    6. Sometimes I unintentionally match my friends.

    img_7059

    7. Along with making sure my posts go up on “happy times” I also like my paragraphs to end by filling up the entire line. I don’t like when a new line is created for a couple words. Like this paragraph would have looked without this last sentence.

    8. I love Starbucks because they treat me so damn good. As if paying for my college education wasn’t enough, they sent me a pin and a bag of coffee as a congratulations gift. Oh and I have a dank 401K, benefits, stock options…yeah.

    img_7108

    9. I alluded to my ASU adventure last March, and it took me nearly another year to finally bite the bullet. What gave me the final push? I abandoned everything medical/nutrition/science based and went for something else. Feels great.

    10. Two words: homemade waffles.

    img_7073

I’m just gonna leave that last photo right there for ya.

    Q: What’s your confession?

    b

Once was driving behind this truck and on his read window was a sticker that was not quite in the center, it was off about an inch. I bothered me so much I had to pass him and get way ahead so he wouldn’t at some point pass me and expose me to it again. I’ve gone as far as to adjust peoples shirt collars at work without thinking, and then having to so Oh Sorry I just ummmmm…. so embarrassing…

I though about taking some online courses at ASU

You know what bugs me about Starbucks? The fact that they are mostly environmentally aware and health aware but don’t offer Stevia it really sucks when I forget to bring mine

        • Brittany

          February 2, 2016 at 10:58 AM

I’d have to argue that I don’t think they’re very health aware, or rather health conscious. I wouldn’t touch 90% of the products offered haha. Thankfully I enjoy my coffee black, but I DO wish they offered stevia! Leave a comment! They listen to the people if enough speak up! 👍🏻

That’s so cool that My Drunk Kitchen made your recipe!! Way to be awesome! 🙂

So I’m not concerned with the time my blog posts are posted at, but I am so with you on #7! The worst is when I have a smiley face at the end of a paragraph to make the point that I’m teasing, but it’s the ONLY THING on the next line. So I either take out a word from the paragraph so it’ll sit at the end of the line or I add a few more words to even out that last line. 😉

And cool degree! From the BS part, I guess it has less to do with debate, journalism etc. and more to do with technology?

        • Brittany

          February 5, 2016 at 7:28 AM

Well, it’s a BS because of all the science I took before embarking on this path. HAHA. That and it’s more the science behind communication as a whole for humans, and not directed towards journalism and such like you said. More of a psychology based communication. Basically I chose something super versatile that I could use ANYWHERE in life and called it a day. 🙂 BS in Human Communication to be more specific.

1.) How long do you have to work at Starbucks to take advantage of free schooling?
2.) What requirements do you need to meet at the company?
3.) What are you going to study now?
4.) Does every Starbucks do this?
5.) What does jackfruit taste like?! I have yet to try this because they don’t sell it anywhere in Ithaca!
6.) If you would email me that would be great! elliepell8@gmail.com

Honey ooooozing off the top. My favorite look. Bike fenders: the contraptions that sit above the back wheels to prevent mud splatter from going EVERYWHERE. Like a hug for your tire.

haha oh girl, you are so adorable. love the “matching friends” pic, and the “no orphans” rule for your writing — i admit i’ve made changes there as well, especially in creative pieces or resume (totally different spectrum, i know). i guess i don’t think about it quite as much on my blog. but your reference to the line it was currently in –>priceless. ❤

It’s funny because I realize that not everyone computer is the same, and my view is not the same as your view, or my moms view and so on. SOOO, my OCD backfires still. HA.

Um pretty amazing that she made your recipe on My Drunk Kitchen! She’s so funny, and her puns kill me. And personally I love exfoliating my mouth :’D. Every now and then though I’m like we share a name, and she’s famous, and I’m not, so that’s lame. I imagine everyone feels this way about name twins, right? It’s totally normal haha

Her puns are brilliant. I never watched many of her MDK episodes, or really any of her videos, but one of my previous coworkers was obsessed with her which is they only way I knew about her. I just stumbled across her page a few weeks ago when she had posted this! It was fate.

I used to be a librarian, so all of my books, CDs and DVDs are in alphabetical order :-S

If you don’t want to go to the hassle of fitting mud-guards to your bike, maybe buy an ‘ass-saver’ (http://ass-savers.com/) 🙂

How exciting about school and how well Starbucks treats you! That’s awesome! A guy at my church was literally just telling me he needs to get fenders for his bike because he’s been splashing mud all over himself lately!

Fenderless bike = hot mess, in the back of course. I rode my bike in college through rainstorms and muddy landslides (okay, I exaggerate), and it was so not pretty. Love this confessions post! and congrats on the famous youtuber exposure. 😉

Gurlll, it was completely unintentional! One second it was all sunshine and rainbows, the next, it was a torrential storm! Previously pristine (ish) pants were gone like it was nobody’s business. 😜

Oh my gosh I want that waffle right now!! Mmm. And yay for bike riding! My hubby got me a new mountain bike for Christmas, and I finally had a chance to go for a ride last week… Such a challenging, adrenaline pumping workout!

I have, BUT I have not found one I was overly happy with. Perhaps because I’ve always just experimented and tried making my own haha.

omg… #1 is me to a T! Car radio, TV, thermostat, anything… must be an even number or something that ends in 5. Can’t have it any other way… and don’t mess with me on that either! haha
