As I mentioned in my previous post I’ve spent the last couple weeks training to be a supervisor. This keeps me busy while I am at work, but there are things that have kept me busy when I’m away from work too. Things like…
…house/Pet sitting. I spent last Sunday-Friday with the fluff ball shown below, and we spent a lot of time soaking up the sun. My Jun/Jul are both full of sitting.
She’s much fluffier than the last time we spent time together.
…running everyday. I’m feeling quite fantastic. I think once 100 mile May is over I’ll need to set another running goal for June to keep the party going.
…putting time and effort into my dinners. Despite the fact that an apple and pretzels always sounds like a good option, potatoes are better.
…figuring out what to do with the growth atop my head. After realizing my mop was turning into…a mop, I chopped it off. Sometimes I’m very impetuous.
To keep it real though here is how I will look the remainder of my days.
The above photo of it straight, along with my main blog photo were both taken the day I got it cut (blog photo was last May’s haircut) because my stylist straightened it. Then it never see’s the flat iron again. I don’t like it straight, and I’m lazy.
…spending moneys. I never spend money, so this is a big one. Except on food, which I do plenty of. REI knows how to work a bargain though with their anniversary sale. I walked in for new running shoes, and walked out with a jacket, a bag, and no shoes.
Both were on sale, and when you see a forest green back that doubles as a backpack and a handle bag, you buy it. It was time I upgraded my overnight bag from a reusable Whole Foods bag to something a bit sturdier.
I like busy, busy is good.
Q: What’s kept you busy lately?

Enjoy reading your blog. And here I thought my 80 mile May was a lot. BTW – love the haircut.
80 miles IS a lot, be proud of that!!
We took advantage of the long weekend and planted a potted vegetable garden…(also a lime and lemon tree!)

Other than work, which hasn’t been busy, nothing’s keeping me busy and it’s driving me INSANE!!! I think I’ll make potatoes for dinner tonight 🙂 I could use a haircut, too. I’m just so cheap and hate the cost of them- which for me includes coloring. Anywho… have you found and loose change lately?!
Yes, I have! No where near the amount I found a couple years ago, and I realized the other day I never even downloaded the coin counter app on my new phone when I got it last December. Shame on me…I’ve probably found a buck or so this year. Usually while running haha.
My haircuts cost $40, including s $5 tip. Anymore than that and I’d rather have dreads. 😂
I love love love your curly hair!!!
How do you run every single day?? I feel like my legs would get worn out really quickly… They like a rest day in between, so I’m a little jealous! 😉
The first couple weeks I definitely felt the burn, I ended up taking one day off in the middle and made up the miles later to give my legs a rest. Otherwise it’s been fine probably because most runs average 3 miles with just a few longer ones thrown in, so they’re manageable!
I wish I could chop my mane but there is.no.way. You look cute with short hair, though! I would probably look like a boy considering I am boob less. TMI? I have no filter.
It’s never TMI…let’s just clarify that now. 😉
I love the hair!!
My hair probably wished it never saw a flatiron…but it does…ALL. THE. TIME. lol
Ha. That’s pretty funny because I was wondering, from a previous post, why you have long hair if you always wear it up? While I admit I generally prefer longer hair for women, your short do is undeniably cute. And that’s the most I’ve said about hair, perhaps ever.
Congratulations on the promotion. Big responsibilities abound.
It wasn’t super long to begin with, just above my shoulders, but I just hate hair haha. I wanted to cut it ALL off, but was too chicken. Glad to have some approval from a long hair lover, thanks! 🙂
Your hair is so cute! I love it.
Love love love the haircut it looks awesome!
Jessica @ VEGGIE RUNNING MOMMA
ooh I love that cute little green bag.! Spend away, you deserve it now you supervisor 😉 congrats on the new position btw.
I’ve been busy working and being sick. haha it sucks
I don’t like my hair straight, either. I also cut off my long locks, though my bob has since grown a bit. It’s at that stage where I need to decide if I’m going to keep it short or let it go long. Dinner looks tasty! I’m not finding vegetarian running hard at all.
My hair is very curly so when I get it cut I ask my hairdresser to straighten it. I rarely try to do it myself but when I do it never looks like it does when she does it. So, I usually don’t bother. I’ve been busy with gardening and yard work, running, going to NYC. It was great having an extra day off.

What fun stuff you’ve been busy with recently! I love the fluffy cat, of course. How do you cook your potatoes? Baked in the oven? I love baked potatoes. Love the haircut – it looks great straight and curly! You have the perfect bone structure for that cut.
Baked! It’s so easy to just throw a couple trays in the oven and leave them be for an hour or so. When I’m out and about (aka at Whole Foods) I load up on their roasted taters with extra love.
Love your hair! And going into a store to get one thing and walking out with three other things (which don’t include the first THING) happen too often in my life.

CONGRATS on the promotion! Aww, I used to have a dog walking biz in college, and I always thought it was such a fun, relaxing way to earn some extra cash. I mean come on, I got to hang out with cute pups and get some exercise walking them around in between classes! It was kind of awesome.
Agreed!! It’s really spiraled (in a good way) into a steady income for me. HA.
I absolutely love your haircut!
A Runnaroundd Life
What the WHAT. Your hair is the cutest!! I wish I could pull off a super short look like that. Rock it!
Haircut is good.
The back of your top is amazing!!!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Love the hair, lady! I’ve always wanted to go in and do something drastic to my hair, but I always end up chickening out. Maybe one of these days. Lord knows I would love being able to spend less time on my hear than I already do…
Wow 100 mile may! Cool idea, but I doubt I even run that much in a year!
Christina Does It All
Love your hair! Curly and straight. So cute, girrrlll
Arman @ thebigmansworld
neeeed potatoes. Although pretzels and apple sounds bomb.com
Busy looks good on you and so does that hair cut. I for one love the curls and the potatoes. I will eat all the potatoes and BOOM goes the protein count. Two snaps and a twirl from me.
You’ve been shopping and I’ve been keeping busy by NOT SHOPPING
oops. Accidentally hit send before I was done. I have been busy not shopping because I have to buy clothes for a wedding, and I don’t like dressing up. So I have been inventing reasons to avoid the mall…..Bad Jane.
kathy at real talk
you are so adorable. i’ve been eating a lot of potatoes as well; my fav have been roasting baby potatoes with fresh thyme and sea salt!!
I’m all about the rosemary taters, but I’ll have to give thyme a shot! YUUM!
You rock the short hair I love it!
di @ life of di.
All of those veggie dinners look delicious! Large veggie dinners = the best! Also, you are so adorable! I absolutely LOVE your hair. I wish I could pull-off a shorter cut like that. I like it both straight and curly. PS – That backpack = I NEED!
Your hair is super gorgeous! I do impulse things too. Last month I had an hour to spare before work so I just decided to get my nose pierced. No thought really, it just sounded like a good idea 🙂 I’m so excited you are training to be a supervisor because…I AM TOO!! ❤ ❤ we are graduating at the coffee shop together! 🙂
AHHha how exciting!! Supervisors unite. 🙂
Your hair looks great! I love it straight or curly! I chopped mine off last summer and I’m thinking about doing it again. It feels SO much better in the heat – especially while running! I love, love, love potatoes, too. One of my favorite things about summer is cooking with potatoes from my mother’s garden. 🙂
That backpack is adorable!
Dannii @ Hungry Healthy Happy
I love that back pack!
Your posts are also making me want to be a pet sitter. I would love to spend that much time with animals.

Busy is GOOD! Until it’s not and then you gotta take a little time to be un-busy :-).
A few haircuts back the stylist ironed my very curly hair flat as a pancake. I felt like the biggest doofus walking out of the salon and cursed her and her blowdryer/iron. I love my curls and never, ever straighten them.
Doofus…perfect word to describe my feelings towards my straight hair. Not just that it’s straight, but SO stick straight I feel bottom heavy with the lack of volume on my head. Your hair is always adorable, and one of these days I’ll be brave enough to get rid of all mine like you do every so often.
An Unrefined Vegan
Oh my gosh, I gotta send you the photo of me with the flat hair…
I’m totally digging my hair right now. I switched to products just for curly hair and they’ve made a huge difference. Part of me hates going back to “hair products,” but…vanity. It happens.
Oh man, I love a good REI sale! People here in MI are not familiar with REI and it always hurts my PNW heart a bit. And my hair is similar – I was told recently I should straighten it all the time. I explained I don’t have time for that and it’s important for me to embrace the curls. Cute hair!
Mom, Miles, and Mishaps
Your hair is SO cute…straight or curly!! You wear them both WELL!!
Leslie @ TriathleteTreats
Love your hair! Super cute! Nice job on the running!! Keep it up!! It is always nice to have a goal to work on!
I have been busy training, getting used to a 5 day work week, cooking, and cleaning!! 🙂
GiGi Eats Celebrities
WTF LADY! I LOVE YOUR HAIR – I don’t know WHY you had a “freak attack” about it … Oh right, because ALL HAIR LOOKS AWFUL the same day you get it done! LOL!!!!!!! 😉
You can totally rock the short hair – I love it! While I am happy I chopped mine off in April, I’m sort of missing how easy it was to throw up my longer locks. Operation Grow Hair Out (again) has officially started. I’m sort of in love with the pack you bought – totally necessary purchase in my eyes! I’ve been busy, outside of working 9-5, doing my CrossFit training, maintaining a better blog schedule, getting as many kitten cuddles as I can, and just trying to work through the funk I was in. It took me awhile, but I finally admitted to being in one, and it is making it easier to deal with.
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been in a funk!! I go through waves of those and it definitely helps when you acknowledge it and figure out the root of it! I find that prioritizing things I WANT to do, over things I NEED to do helps. Life is too short to be stressed about things that won’t be there in the end…

Work and wedding planning!
Your hair looks adorable! That cat is such a fluffball! How did you keep her contained outside?
She goes out back often, and for some reason or another doesn’t jump the fence. I’ll never understand why.
Natalie @ The Ravenous Mommy
Your hair looks great! I’ve been busy chasing Wyatt around, but he starts school (part time) next week so I get a full 8 hours a week to myself! woohoo
Your hair is the cutest. I too have the curly hair issue so a straight hair selfie always happens because I am as in awe as everyone else.
I am busy moving and spending all the monies too which is a big deal for me as well. Awesome stuff FTW!
Moving yay!!! Did you ever get your sunglasses from my giveaway?
haircut is cuuuute! you is cuuuute! great job with the running, chicklet.
Wow, your hair looks great! I keep considering to let the hairdresser cut mine shorter than shoulder-lenght but chicken out every. single. time. Honestly, though, I think it wouldn’t look as good on me as it does for you and others. Read: I look five years younger with short hair – and I already look younger so no.
Also, send me something to keep me busy because right now my life isn’t and I need a proper schedule to stay sane.
The Zen Kat
So we’re basically living similar lives right now! I’m dog sitting this week, and of course, keeping crazy busy. Your hair is adorable, as are you!

I’m in the midst of trying to work out new routines for myself, when work is busy it’s crazy but when it stops it is almost a shock how quickly I can be at a loss for something to do. I like your plan, especially the shopping part:) xx
Congrats on making supervisor!! Looooove the haircut. You look lovely. Yes, potato heaven. Last year I grew the best potatoes I’ve ever eaten from some seed potatoes a random woman gave me and she had no idea what they were. So disappointing to never get to have them again. I didn’t allow myself to check out the REI sale. Probably would’ve bought too many things. Loooove the coat and bag you got!
Karla @ Finding My Fit
short hair looks rockin on you! i could not pull it off–well i could but i was wayyy too lazy to dry it everyday for work. so much easier to throw it up in my bun 🙂
work has me incredibly busy. but i’ve been finding time for fun and adventures too!
What keeps me busy… packing for my move abroad !! 😀

You are so pretty! I love your hair both straight and curly. What’s kept me busy? My blog and y 3 year old, lol!
Thank you friend. ❤
I love your hair and it looks amazing straight OR curly! I’m also so impressed with your running!! That 100 mile/month thing sounds so tempting. You’re amazing!

I don’t know if I said it on your last post, but CONGRATS on the job promotion! I LOVE the new cut too! Love that bag too! And I ABSOLUTELY love the protein comment. 😉

I can’t wait to read all about 100 Mile May!! You’re gorgeous, by the way — your diet clearly is paying off!
D’aaawww. You’re making me blush.
I love your cool hair, by the way! 🙂 Busy is good but sometimes, we all need to un-wind too! 🙂
