    1. Pumpkins. Orange. Brown. Leaves. Scarecrows. Sweet Potatoes. Baked Apples. Yellow.

    FALL, FALL, FALL.

    IMG_2811

    2. I haven’t gone hiking in almost three weeks. WHAAAAT!?

    3. I have been drinking coffee in mugs made for the mountains though.

    IMG_2821

    4. Instead I’ve been running, and walking, and…working. T-minus 17 days until half time.

    5. I went to visit a friend last weekend and she told me she signed up for her first 5K. After I expressed pure joy by running up the side of a building, she asked if we could go practice run.

UHH yes!? I didn’t even care that I wasn’t wearing proper shoes.

    I don’t advise running 3miles in TEVA’s.

    IMG_2825

    6. I’ve been doing 90% of my half marathon training in my Vibram Five Fingers. I’ve had the same pair for over five years, and they are fantastic.

    7. This made me insanely excited for Thanksgiving. It also made me wonder why I don’t have something like a sloth or wildebeest as my mailbox. I should rectify this.

    img_2814

    8. I went an entire week without treats. I plan to try a new experiment where I only have treats once a week, but if you see me on the news it’s because mentally I didn’t make it.

    9. I’m running out of things to share, so I will mention how delightful my first official fall weather run was. I went out for 5 mi, but ended up running 8 mi. Crisp air and yellow leaves are magical.

    img_2834

    10. I haven’t worn deodorant (and by this I mean I haven’t slapped baking soda under my arms because this is what I do for “deodorant”) in two weeks. I hope I haven’t been walking around with a green aura spewing from my body. I only had to reshower once. Win.

    Q: What’s your confession?

    b

wait what? you can just use baking soda as deo???? I’ve seen recipes with coconut oil and baking soda and other stuff but didn’t realize you could JUST use baking soda?!!

I started making my own deodorant a few years ago using coconut oil, baking soda, corn starch and an essential oil (for scent), but over time realized the main component in this mixture that I needed was the baking soda. As an odor eater I’ve found that this is all I need to combat any odor that comes from under my arms, and it works to keep me relatively dry too. I’d definitely give it a try if you’re intrigued!

I love that you went out to run 5 miles and just happened to go 8. Admirable to someone like me who huffs and puffs like the big bad wolf trying to make it 2 miles.

I went for my first run in over a month this week. I made it 3 whole miles with a short walk session in there because I was dying. I also think I was so excited to be out there again I started with a pace of over eager amazon woman. Hence, the dying part in 15 minutes. Ha.

No deodorant. You really are a hippie woman. Please tell me you shave. 😉

…..what if I told you I’ve been known to go a solid week (and some change) without shaving my pits. What if I told you I also publicly have worn tank tops during these times. I will say I don’t tend to do this often, but it’s been known to happen.

I WISH I could just use something so simple for deodorant. I was cursed with man-sweat, so I have to use some pretty strong stuff. (Thankfully it’s basically unscented, or else I’d end up smelling like a man… because the pretty lady bottles of deodorant do absolutely nothing for me). Ugh!!
So I guess that’s my confession right there… Ha, ha!!
And goodness, I need to make a goal of just eating one treat a week! This pregnancy is killing me when it comes to that. Ha, ha. I used to have such will-power, and I plan to be a lot more regimented once the baby comes. But for now, I’m lucky if I just have one treat a day. 😉
      That’s confession # 2. Ha, ha!!
And I LOVE fall and am so excited about the autumn colors and flavors!!!! 🙂

When I was in junior high I had the WORST sweaty armpits. It was so bad I ended up getting this chemical to put on them so that I wouldn’t sweat. I would never use this now, but it was necessary for my embarrassment when I was younger! Thankfully my body seems to have balanced itself out and I no longer need intense deodorants. If I notice that I smell bad, I just shower!! The baking soda seems to take care of the rest.

That mailbox!!! I totally agree that you should make yours a sloth or wildebeest… those are equally good options 🙂 And good for you for being able to ditch deodorant. I tried using natural stuff for awhile (baking soda, coconut oil, Green Beaver, etc), but I was just way too paranoid that it wasn’t working! It probably was…no one was telling me otherwise haha. Also, I know I said it on Instagram already, but I LOVE that mug!

Starting tomorrow I’m going until Halloween without treats as part of a tumblr challenge. We’ll see how I do because that sounds really hard and I’ve never actually done it. I feel like I’m succeeding right now but then I remembered I had 2 cookies and a slice of cheesecake yesterday…
That is such a cool mailbox. I wish mailboxes were still a thing, but they’re all getting slowly replaced by those big boxes for whole blocks.
