Being the Pinterest addict that I am, I found a craft on there I just had to make. Since I don’t know the exact website of origin, I can’t give credit to anyone other than Pinterest. So here’s my craft, courtesy of Pinterest.
Some of you may have seen this, and when I did I immediately fell in love with the idea.
A deck of cards, printed sheets with typed reasons of love, construction paper, two scrabble peices, a hole punch, glue, and binding rings.
This craft was so much fun. It was time consuming at parts, which helped to keep me busy. If anyone is looking for an adorably fun craft, this is it! I chose to not use the side of the cards with the jack, queen, or the king. These were too “busy” looking to me and I didn’t want the typed words to get lost in the chaos of the picture on the card. That’s the extent of my craftiness for the year.
After my craft making I went on a 5mile run, and then had an amazing home cooked meal that was inspired by the lovely Amanda. I am already craving a second helping.

Asparagus with peppers, onions, and garlic. Baked potato slices with thyme and salt. Brown rice with field roast holiday roast and some beets.
The rest of my evening will be polished off with some popcorn and a holiday movie. I also see a vegan cupcake in my very near future.
Q: Do you like to make gifts, or buy them? I like both..it depends on the situation. Homemade gifts are more rewarding, but you can’t craft up a dolphin giving you a ride into Narnia. That’s something only money can buy.

Happy anniversary! I’m very impressed by your man-friend’s crafting abilities; that’s a pretty rare quality in a dude! I made the same deck of cards thing for my boyfriend last year (and I’m also addicted to Pinterest, BTW) 🙂

Oh, those are super duper cute!!! Happy anniversary! Re: the making or buying of gifts – I do both as well…seems like I always have the desire to make stuff, and then time escapes me and I end up buying, but I think it would be awesome to do all homeade Christmas gifts for everything in the family to exchange.

ah smart idea of making things instead of buying. people are getting ridiculous with the expensive gifts and it kinda loses meaning. this means a lot more! how’d he get “Dec 5” engraved on there?! Happy one year to you two. 🙂
Brittany
He has these engraving things that he HAMMERED into the penny..HA! So rustic, but I love the turn out!
Melissa @ Mouthwatering Morsel

You guys make me incredibly happy 🙂 HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! I think these gifts are so much better than a trip anywhere/ipads and what not. So much more meaning and thoughtfulness behind them 🙂 XO

I made something like that for my hubby on our 1 year anniversary, but mine was 365 reasons why I loved him, one for each day of the year 🙂 It took a long time to think of all those reasons, but I did it, and I really enjoyed putting it together!
Roya Ghorbani

Happy anniversary!! What great ideas! I absolutely love the deck of cards idea! I might do something similar for my hubby but maybe just use different kinds of thick paper and different colors. I’m a crafting fool and love it!!! I love the flowers he did too. So sweet!

You are so cute! I love that you ‘got your craft on’ for your anniversary. The card idea is so cute. I did something similar (not on play cards but just colorful paper cards) for Marty last fall. He said he preferred it to a purchased gift! What did your guy think? 🙂 Happy belated anniversary!

Love the deck of cards idea! So cute

i LOVE the craft exchange idea !!!!!

I made this for my husband of 35 years. It took me two weeks of sneaking around, even took a day off work to finish it when he wasn’t around. I gave it to him for valentines day, he glanced at it, said “that’s nice”, and set it aside and went back to what he was reading. Never even read it! Not my best moment! I think it is a wonderful idea, but just wanted to tell someone what happened!
blissfulbritt
Oh my gosh!! First of all I love that you made this for him, what a sweet gift after 35years. Secondly..his reaction was awful! I am so sorry! I would have been heartbroken, I hope he has taken the time since then to read what you wrote. He’s a lucky guy to have you take the time for this thoughtful gift, I hope he realizes that! Thanks for commenting!
