…weekly lake runs, the only run consisting of further than 4 miles lately.

…handmade vegan soaps, because they SMELL SO GOOD.

    IMG_1252IMG_1255

…Wayward Vegan Cafe. I don’t eat a lot of bread, in fact I don’t even keep it in my house. When I do eat bread it’s usually in the form of a baked good, and often it’s gluten free. This keeps things moving right inside my tubes, and helps to ensure I don’t crash like a kamikaze plane.

    waffle

    Stolen from YELP

I’ve been dreaming about waffles for…forever, and I decided it was time to get one.

I didn’t take a photo, because I was too busy conversing with the adorable solo diner to my left. This place just draws you in to feel comfortable dining solo, which was prime opportunity for sparking up a conversation with my fellow diner.

My waffle was everything I’d hoped for, full of doughy bready goodness. Looks like I’ll need to go back for another one, oh darn.

…sunshine and coffee. Slowing down to sip and savor.

    img_2821

…alarm free wake up calls. I’ve been training a new hire at work, and he isn’t available until the afternoon. This means my early morning start times have been pushed to afternoon start time a few days a week. I don’t hate waking with the sun.

Aka waking up at 6am instead of 4am.

Aka waking up at 6am instead of 4am.

…giving back. My Starbucks family and I volunteered with our local park volunteers to help pull up one of the many noxious weeds – scotch broom!

    …life. Pretty self explanatory.

I’m loving the sunshine that made it back into my life – winter was WAY too long!!
And the start of the new semester and – so far – all of the classes I decided to take. 🙂

…those aren’t bite marks on the soap bar, right? O.o

I’m loving that our temps are warming back up – we were in a bit of a cold spell last week so having it be above 50 before noon is welcomed back with a huge hug! I’m loving my new blog journey and trying to stay more positive throughout the day; work can sometimes get me down, so staying happy has been a priority.

Running outside! It is so much easier to run farther, faster and harder when I’m outside. I love the feeling of the wind in my hair and the sun on my face. I also think I’m improving as an athlete since I’ve started running outside.

This is going to sound really vain but… here it goes…

      I’m loving myself!

I guess after a break up, when you are heart broken, you always start questioning yourself. And now I feel that I’m back to being and loving me!
So BOOM… I’m loving myself and I’m loving how vain that sounds :)))

Ahh I love that picture – you look so happy with that cupcake!
      Lately I’m loving:
      – runs with friends outside. it was a long winter of indoor treadmill runs or solo runs and i’m appreciating being outside and running with people!
      – conversations while running with friends. they can be deep – and notsodeep- but i love them all.
      – husbands who make me dinner while i’m working late. and also may make me breakfast. and also clean our apartment. there, i said it – i do nothing.

I love this post idea!! do you mind if i steal it? I may do a loving post soon!

Ah yes, I LOVE waking up on my own and not with an alarm! I always find alarms to be so disturbing haha. As of late, I haven’t had any early conference calls, so I’ve been waking up all on my own and it’s glorious.

Roasted garlic is awesome! I’ve only done it a few times, because it leads to me eating 1/2 loaf of bread – ha! – but roasting it whole with a bit of olive oil and spreading it on freshly baked bread is heavenly.

I don’t eat a lot of bread either (we have sprouted wraps + sprouted raisin bread at home but I don’t eat a ton of it); that said, I need to enjoy baked goods + pancakes + waffles more often. Life is too short to restrict myself from these delicious foods. I had pancakes for the first in three years yesterday (unfortunate true story) and it was so nice to enjoy them for brunch. Maybe not every week but definitely more often!
