Posted at 7:20 AM by Brittany, on November 28, 2014

I hope everyone woke up safely from their Thanksgiving day comas. I volunteered to sling coffee all morning to ensure maximum movement, which enabled me to eat all the food. I’ll spare you any photos and just tell you I’m still obsessed with squash.

I made GF biscuits for the first time, and I ate so many I had my own turkey wattle.

I did manage to get a run in after I worked the morning shift!

I did manage to get a run in after I worked the morning shift!

After my encounter with these bark thins last week I decided to take a break from sweets for a whopping five days. It’s amazing how such a short time can help balance things back out. I was getting wayyy too comfortable eating all the chocolate.

    IMG_3246

This leads me to the topic of this post. How freaking cute is this chocolate passport?! I’m seriously so obsessed I don’t even want to eat them!…but I will.

    IMG_3245

I found these at Trader Joe’s last weekend while I was shopping to escape chemistry homework, I call it grocery store therapy. Each chocolate is from a different location, ranging from 60-73 percent dark chocolate. Bring on the antioxidants!

I think my favorite part is the addition of an ideal pairing. I’m all about pairings and tastings as most of you know, so this tickled my fancy big time. Tickle tickle.

This makes the perfect holiday gift for…yourself.

    funny-christmas-ecard

One of these bars has an ideal pairing of a cappuccino, but I suspect all of them will be good with a coffee like Caffe Verona or Ethiopia. Both have strong cocoa notes.

Speaking of coffee, I just realized it’s almost December and I never brought out my fall coffee mug. I rotate between 3-4 mugs throughout the year, and the beginning of fall means it’s time for my favorite pumpkin orange mug. Coffee is better in a good mug.

    20131101-092228

27 days until Christmas…just thought you should know.

Q: Are you a sucker for great marketing? Guilty as charged.

Great marketing can really get you – but sometimes its a good thing! A Beautiful Mess is amazing with their marketing, especially with new products they’ve released. I’m sort of obsessed with Starbucks mug…they sure know how to make a good one!

I’ll be buying that chocolate passport for friends AND myself. That’s such a fun idea! GREAT marketing draws me in, but I find most marketing isn’t that great, haha. I can’t wait to bust out some Holiday mugs at work. I’ve been trying to bring a different one each week, as I find they can be fun conversation starters… not that I’m shy, haha. Happy Belated Thanksgiving my dear 🙂

Of course I am a sucker for marketing!!!!!!!! It’s actually one of my biggest weaknesses. I consistently think I need ALL THE MUGS. I have enough mugs that I probably don’t need to buy another mug ever again in my lifetime… but then these local artists keep creating more beautiful ones and I get sucked in. 😀

Okay, onto antioxidants… YOU KNOW I’m so good at getting those. In chocolate. Screw the pomegranate juice. My one request is that TJs comes to Canada as quickly as possible and we can eat chocolate passports together (virtually).

Happy Thanksgiving my beautiful friend!!! XOXO

I’m retry sure that I’d have the hardest time eating that adorable chocolate passport… buuuuuut seeing as we don’t have a TJ’s in Canada, I guess I don’t have to worry about it 😉 I ordered Christmas Blend when I went to Bux this morning and thought of you. More specifically, what you’d advise me to pair it with 😛

Yep, I am a sucker for great marketing! However, I am definitely becoming more and more aware of it, (off subject) especially when it comes to hair products, for example sulfate free shampoo – its just a trendy sales pitch. 😉

I am definitely a sucker for clever marketing and pretty things. Oooh shiny, must buy. Having my income drastically reduced now that the Hubby is in school (chemistry blows by the way) has helped curb that, but it doesn’t mean I don’t want it all still.

I love that you have different mugs for the seasons! I started to do that a year or two ago… but I never got past mug # 1 which was an owl mug for the autumn season. I need to start doing that again! There’s something special about sipping from a mug that matches the color and designs of the season!

It’s really interesting how quickly you get used to eating chocolate/sugar/whatever, but after a few days you just as quickly get used to not having it. (That’s probably the worst sentence ever, but I’m sure you get my point.)

Lucky for you Starbucks currently has around 100 options for cups/mugs!! Only select stores have all the options, but you’re sure to find one you like regardless. It’s insane!! MUST resist the temptation to BUY ALL THE MUGS!

That chocolate passport thing is SO cute! I’m planning on heading to TJ’s later and might need to nab one if I see it…and 24 days til Christmas now!! I’ve been doing so much online shopping since last Friday — about 25% for myself, 75% for others, so I consider that a success 🙂

We have so much in common. Coffee addict. Chocolate obsession. Self gifter. Check check check. I love this and you have such great photos! I totally need to cop myself one of these passport books. Can you save the box for decoration – i.e. have an empty passport? Or does it just fall apart without the chocolate in it?

That chocolate passport, I die! I love the colors and you are right, I probably wouldn’t want to eat such a pretty setup either, but I would eventually cave in! Marketing gets me easily online, but outside, not too bad. I don’t like to shop too much, except for kitchen gadgets, so that is really only what amuses me. Not really all that interested in clothes shopping, I get bored REALLY fast and get irritated with crowds. I much prefer to shop online.

Coffee is better in a good mug = truth. I have my go-to mug and whenever Marty has taken it, I get a little feisty! 😀 Don’t take my mug dammit. Also, I’m not a huge chocolate fan (don’t get me wrong – it’s delicious – just not my favorite) but that chocolate passport totally appeals to me. I’m definitely a sucker for creative marketing. I’ve gotten much better about my impulse purchases but they will still get me from time to time!
