Posted at 3:49 AM by Brittany, on November 6, 2014

    – 1989: Shot into the world, or “birthed.”

    me

Note: I did not come out looking like this. I was 8 mo. here, and already loving everything Halloween.

    – 1991: Stepped on a giant slug, proceeding to give me a life long phobia. Real talk.

    – 1992: Had the best hair I’ll ever have, this cannot be repeated.

    mee

    – 1997: Became the coolest kid on the block with my authentic Japanese Pokemon cards. Thank you dad for living in Japan and sending me this gold.

    – 2000: Hit puberty, tried to fight it by wearing the same soccer shorts and Old Navy tech vest…everyday. This lost me my title of coolest kid on the block.

I also had a hair cut like this for years…thanks mom.

    Starburst-Bus-Station

    – 2004: Introduced myself to coffee at the orthodontist (totally ironic.) Put enough cream and sugar in my cup to give five people diabetes for life.

    – 2005: Got braces. This sparked my fascination of teeth.

    SAMSUNG DIGIMAX D530

16 yr old black haired Brittany.

    – 2007: Became a carbotarian by giving up meat, but eating all things bread and chips.

    – 2009: Got a job at a smoothie shop and found my love for veggies, and wheat grass.

    020

    – 2011: Started this blog, ran my first race, unleashed the (slow as molasses) beast, got a job at Trader Joe’s, and met a boy.

    – 2012: Gave up all animal products, and perfected the art of roasted vegetables. Ran my first half marathon through the happiest place on earth.

    20121006-130104

    – 2012: Sparked my insatiable appetite for cupcakes.

    – 2013: Had a life changing breakup with aforementioned boy, which taught me peace, patience, and balance. I’m now very (possibly too) comfortable being alone.

    Balance is bliss.

    Balance is bliss.

    – 2013: Got a job at Starbucks. Cracked out on coffee even more than at the orthodontist when I was 15. Discovered a new passion for the bean.

    – 2014: Fell in love with the mountains and with my life, despite my always changing path. Learned that change is constant and adaptation is key.

    1487741_291318497707066_8680488190572085406_o

    – Yesterday: Reminded myself why I never wear LOOSE fitting cotton bottoms while running. Everything moves. Everything.

Q: What was a memorable moment in time for you?

I love everything about this. Especially the hair of ’92… Waves, baby. Also – if I were to do a half marathon, I would want it to be through Disneyland. A memorable moment for me– my earliest was when I was about three and gave myself a little haircut, went to my aunt’s while my mom went to work, my aunt was combing my hair to braid it, and flipped out as my hair was coming out in chunks for reasons she could not fathom. I looked like a little blonde boy for awhile after that…

So awesome Brittany! I loved reading these and you were so darn adorable! You have such a beautiful smile. So awesome to be comfortable alone too, I truly believe that we cannot be in a successful relationship unless we are first content on our own. We have to know that we would be fine on our own!

Beautiful post and you were such a cute kid!!

1992 – Stood on one leg for 2 hours and 56 minutes (it was a contest in Camp Color War).

1995 – Peed my pants while running (yes I kept running) the 800 in a track meet.
I came in third. But still.

2014 – Decided at the beyond ripe age of 36 (<– How this happen?) to go back to shcool and get yet another degree and entirely change career paths/fields.

Dude. I was never more popular than in 1997 when MY uncle came back from Japan with Pokemon cards which shat on the charizard everyone mooched over.

Then it got confiscated and the teacher ‘lost it’. She probably sold it to another little kid. Bitch.

I’m jealous of your ’92 hair. Mostly because I had no hair in 1992 and people thought I was a baby boy even when my mom dressed me in pink with bow headbands.

One of my memorable moments was last December when I graduated with my BA. The day felt really surreal, and I still miss college, but it was one of my proudest moments. And it was my last time going to my favorite vegan restaurant which I also miss.

I think a very important memory for me was when I was 14 and I was on an airplane that had to make an emergency landing. Life changing for real. Turned out it had something to do with the coffee pot, though. Maybe that’s why I love the stuff so much… I secretly fear it 🙂

July 11 2009 – Marrying a pretty cute army dude and

3 days later- leaving Oklahoma and the comfort of my Momma’s house to move to Alaska and learn how to be a grown up. (which evolved into the awesome life I have now)

Also that one time I had a baby. That was a little life changing.

And this is EXACTLY why I love you. Your last memorable event… Priceless. Can you believe I used to run in only cotton shorts?? So crazy. Now it’s gotta be tight (on the bottom, not the top!) so nothing moves excessively. 😉 And I’m so excited to say that I’ve been reading about your life for, umm, gosh… almost 4 years. I must’ve found it right after you started! So proud of you for what you’ve gone through, yet still kept your same sense of humor throughout it all. And that’s why I cannot WAIT to meet you!!

I remember when I started running and would wear cotton shirts. I learned REALLLLY fast not to do that. SO uncomfortable. Now I’m OK with LOOSE tops, but they can’t be cotton and YES the bottoms must be skin tight to suck in the extra booty!

I remember when you broke up with the boy. I knew it before you ever even posted in on the blog. Like a ninja, I could sense it or I could read between the lines. This was so much fun to read!! I love the nice hair picture. So cute! I also tried to fight puberty hard core. My mom had me wear bras in 5th grade because I was starting to get awkward small boobs and I was NOT having it. I took them off at school and put them in my backpack. My mom found one one day and was like “PEOPLE CAN SEE YOUR BOOBS IF YOU DON’T WEAR A BRA!” And I was like “I DON’T WANT TO GROW UP OR BE A GIRL!!!!!” haha. I always wore windpants and baggy shirts, too. I totally understand!

I love that you have changed interests a lot through the years, but your fun personality has stayed the same! Not many people can say that!
