1. After what felt like the longest day of my life I allowed myself to spend $9 on a pound of food. It was pure vegan awesome, and I finished the entire thing in less than 3 minutes.
2. I’m listening to Christmas music as I write this post, and I have no shame.
3. Speaking of Christmas, I’m wayyy too excited about the red aprons at Starbucks.
4. I had a dream I was exploring Ireland, when pirates started to attack the boat I was on. Thankfully my cat had a hairball (in real life) and his convulsing woke me up. Actually, it ALWAYS wakes me up..this is the first time I was thankful.
5. My workout clothes are still a bit snug, and I have resorted to wearing my over sized race shirts when I go out for a run. I went from looking like a streetwalker with clothes too small, to a 12 yr old boy with no female anatomy. I just can’t win..haha. Time to shop!
6. I’m also baking while writing this post. Christmas music, blogging, and baking. I am baking this pumpkin bread for my mom and her friends. I’m such a good daughter.
7. I went to the grocery store at 9pm to get fixings for my breakfast the next day. It was 100% worth it. I called it breakfast in a bag.
8. More Starbucks talk, OH MY GOSH I want SO many things in the new Christmas product line. A gold french press, a wooden coffee sampler box with burlap sacks, a chalkboard advent calendar, and a crystallized cup ornament!? I WANT ALL THE THINGS! I can’t justify the french press because I have one, but it’s GORGEOUS!
9. My “non running”/ running schedule is going well. Lots of spinning and cardio at the gym..and minimal running. Two is still better than zero…right? I’m so gonna rock my next half marathon…gulp. 11 more days…
10. I have the most ridiculous fan girl crush on Tom Hiddleston. Ohh I just swoon. If he could find my blog and enjoy my quirks, I’d love to eat pasta under the moon together. I’d bake him barrels of cookies…
Q: What’s your confession?

girlfriend, i’m built like a domino so i hear you on looking like a boy! you’re adorable, you don’t know what you’re talking about!!
kelly @ racesrepsramblings
oh mylanta.. I went in Starbucks this weekend for the first time in awhile and I couldn’t believe all the amazingness everywhere! I wanted to buy EVERYTHING! And then I thought to myself.. man, whoever has this job has a pretty sweet gig, “create lovely holidays things that people will want to buy.” And dang were those things lovely.
pickyrunner
So bake me some pumpkin bread, mmkay? Since I can’t make it for myself (fail.) I need all the help I can get. And by help, I mean all the desserts. I have to say, running clothes are the one and only time I feel like I’m remotely “stylish.” They are the only things in my wardrobe i’m pretty proud of, but I’m known for rocking the 18-sizes too big clothing immediately post run at night in the library when I actually have to be seen in public, so I think you’re better off looking like a boy during your workouts than I am around campus. At least we’re not SUPPOSED to look good when working out. i should really stop rambling and get back to finishing my lab report. whoops.
Colin DeWaay
My confession is I pretty much hate the holidays. Are we still friends? 🙂
Brittany
AHH!! Yes, we can still be friends, but I will never hold back my ridiculous excitement. HAHA!
Colin DeWaay
LOL nor would I want you to. Be you! 🙂
Taryn
Ooh, I love that advent calendar! And I started listening to Christmas music yesterday! I always try to wait til after Thanksgiving, but 1. that never happens and I should just accept it, and 2. Thanksgiving is so late this year!
Change of Pace
Love that you’re so excited for the holidays!
I am shaped like a box so also look like a boy when I wear certain clothes!
I bet you’ll still do fabulous in your half! That spinning is great cross-training!
My confession: it feels like I have a bruised tailbone but haven’t fallen. The true confession part, it feels good to massage so I stand at my desk and massage my rear sometimes.
Brittany
Your confession made me laugh out loud. AAANNNDD you have a bangin runners bod, I don’t know what this rubbish of having a box body is..HOGWASH!
Change of Pace
Well thank you, but boxy I am!
And I continued to massage my butt at work today! I can’t imagine you would get away with something like that 🙂
Meghan @ fitnesscrEATures
Oh, I just sent you an email and now I see a half marathon countdown… Does that mean yes? LOL! 🙂 I love all the food you eat! It’s so colorful and healthy and so good for you! And makes me crave everything you’re eating.
Girl I’ve been inspired by you to do cycle this week and I went this morning… Talk about some TOUGH cross training! I’m all kinds of covered in sweat when I finish. 🙂
I love that even though you’re an sbux employee, you’re just as excited as the rest of us for the red cups! I’m super thrilled and am waiting til after Thanksgiving for my first ‘holiday’ drink. ❤
P
I like treating myself to nice foods after a long day myself. And that salad looks like it was worth every penny!
Oversized race shirts are my go-to for runs—no shame here :P!
spectacuLAUR
Christmas music! It was 60 degrees here yesterday and my mom and I were listening to Christmas music in the car. Secretly… except not so much now. Lol Come back Christmas cookies with me!!!
Karla @ Finding My Fit
That advent calendar is to die for!! I can’t wait for my mid-afternoon pick me up at starbucks before an evening meeting (who wants to go to a meeting after an 8 hr work day..!?)
Running is overrated. Gone are those days for me. I need to sell my running garb. Sad.
Megan
Your boring food looks like my boring food but with out meat! I love mixing everything up and hoping for the best.
You look stellar in red!
Ashley @MilesonOats
I want ALL THINGS STARBUCKS at the moment! Every time I walk inside the shiny ornament mugs taunt me…I think I might just cave…after pay day 😉 Your breakfast looks delish and it’s totally normally to do a late night “breakfast haul” I mean, it is the most important meal of the day right?! 😉

My confession is that over a year after moving to a city at elevation, I still use the thinner air as an excuse to myself and others for why I’m so slow. I’m just not a very good runner (short legs and pigeon toed). I also let a wildfire that kept me from running outside for a few weeks in the summer completely derail my fitness 😦 At least I’m sticking to my diet!
PNWRunner
My confession….11 more days until the Seattle Half and I haven’t ran in over a week. I’ve done a zillion spinning classes, so I am hoping that will help carry my legs 13.1 miles. Eeek! It is on my schedule for this weekend to run my legs off…I am praying for no rain!!
Brittany
Umm…I haven’t “run” in over two weeks..HAHA! I have run MAYBE three times, but ALL UNDER 3 miles. YIKES! I’ve been spinning like crazy too, here’s to hoping we make it out alive..haha.
Alex @ therunwithin
i still wish I could bake like you. and what is it about spending ridiculous money on food that makes up for a terrible day?
Britta
I love that you actually cook things for breakfast.. I cannot muster up the energy to do all that work. Which means I need to come over for breakfast… YUM. Speaking of which, I should learn from you because you eat veggies for breakfast… must work on this. You are going to ROCK your half marathon. I just know it. I feel like sometimes its just best to not train and just enjoy the bad boy – who cares about time!
ahh, Starbucks. I hear you. I go in and want to buy every single mug because of course I need more (not!) – but they are just so beautiful and uhh. I also feel like if you work somewhere things that you thought were ugly originally, eventually start to grow on you and then you have to buy it. Try working at lululemon… I WANT ERRRTHANG, even the things that are a little cray and def dont suit my body type.
I have a confessions post that needs posting as well – tomorrow perhaps 😉 You are also adorable in that red apron.
Brittany
Oh girl, the cooking of a solid breakfast is rare. Usually on days I have off!! Otherwise it’s ALWAYS a pb&j bagel or sandwich! I do love veggies for breakfast though! Loved your confession post, and I would be in trouble working at Lulu!
Corrie Anne
Yay red apron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Davida @The Healthy Maven
Starbucks should hire you to do their PR because I currently want to quit my job and go work for them! Also #5…hilarious. My workout clothes are getting a liiiiitle tight too.
Alex @ Cookie Dough Katzen
Red aprons!! Love it! I like the snapchat. 😉 No shame in Christmas music. I’ve already started listening too. No shame in our game. Now I just need to get to Starbucks and order a peppermint mocha..mmmm
Ashlee@HisnHers
hahaha I always wear my husbands shirts and leggings at home, I’m sure he thinks I’m so HOTT 😉
I got an iced coffee Sat and realized they even have holiday COLD cups this year! I ❤ Starbucks!
jessiebearwhat
YAY CHRISTMAS. And hahahaha I always have that problem with workout clothes- can’t win!
cleaneatingveggiegirl
I have been listening to Christmas music since Halloween!! 😉 No shame here either!
An Unrefined Vegan
Nice Before and After photos of your brekkie. Thanks for the heads up on the Starbucks holiday goodies. I MUST NOT GO INTO ONE because it wouldn’t be safe. For my wallet.
luminousvegans
LOL @ streetwalker with clothes too small to 12-yr old boy! Describes me perfectly! I just hate shopping for clothes though. I probably will resist it until my clothes are all ripping and tearing completely off my body.
PS you are so cute in your red starbucks apron!
Amy
You are SO cute with your red apron!! You should try to get Starbucks to keep them all year round. Or at least in late January/early February for Valentine’s Day too.
I am right there with you on the running clothes, girl!! I’m fine with tight pants/leggings, but with tight shirts… Well, let’s just say I really know how to use my diaphragm when breathing and my stomach shows it when I run. 😉 Not too attractive!
And I totally thought of you this morning on my run too! It was supposed to rain (thank goodness it didn’t; I’d be miserable!), but I remembered how you love running in the rain. And I wished you were there to coach me through it. 🙂
Brittany
I SO wish that we could keep the aprons year round ANDDD get out own personal aprons!! We get our own green ones, but have to share the red ones. I don’t like to share..I have some messy coworkers! HAHA! Today for example the red aprons were not up to my standards for cleanliness so I wore my green one. I was the ONLY green apron in a sea of red!!
AHH rain runs are so refreshing, they are much better when you are already running when the rain starts. I do hope it stays dry for my half though!
Amy
Aww man, you have to share the red aprons?? So sad! I’m a neat freak, so that’d drive me crazy to wear someone else’s spills and mess. But at least green + red together are still holiday colors! 🙂
Good thing you live up in Washington and not me! Your half is coming up really quickly, isn’t it? I have my fingers (and toes) all crossed that you have beautiful running weather!
Missy
You absolutely WILL rock your marathon because you are in it to “have-fun-it” and something tells me you bring the dang party with you wherever you go. So Fun is going down rain or shine.
PS- That is my kind of breakfast. Can’t do sweet at all in the am (or ever really…I’m a salt/carb girl)
di @ life of di.
I’m listening to Christmas music as I comment. 🙂 I’m totally into the Christmas Spirit this year! I am extra excited this year (not sure why but I’m going with it!)
Also, I love the red apron! So cute! Starbucks really knows how to handle the holidays 😀
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats
I like listening to Christmas music when I wrap presents as it just makes me happy too 🙂
Wow not long at all now till your race, you will rock it for sure!!
Hmm confessions…I’ve done no Christmas shopping and plan to do none till the week before Christmas (oops).
Christina Does It All
CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!! I may turn some on now. Thank-you for the suggestion, friend. I am absolutely nuts about Christmas. Also, working at Starbucks at Christmas time is the best. CHRISTMAS!!! (spaz attack over)
Nicole @ FruitnFitness
I like the baggy race shirt look, almost all of my workout clothes are somewhat interesting. I have been having some strange dreams recently, I always wake up after one wondering what I could have been thinking of that brought such strange thoughts.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I haven’t busted out the Christmas music yet, but I’ve been watching Christmas movies pretty much non-stop. And seeing your “boring” meals is seriously making me crave avocado. I’ve just fallen in love with it all over again, and I finished my last one yesterday which means I had to go without today 😦 Sad times…
Brittany
I see that as an excuse/opportunity to get lost in the grocery store for a while!!
apartmentwife
your vegan lunch looks absolutely delicious (and i’m not even vegan) and the red apron? definitely rocking it:) sounds like you’re having a pretty excellent day between all the christmas jams, baking, running and eating 🙂
jessielovestorun
Your vegan lunch looks delicious. You look adorable in your red apron photo. Breakfast in a bag- i like the sound of that. I may have to bake myself a loaf of the pumpkin bread too.
confession: uhh – I’m tired & my mind isn’t working @ the moment
brickhousechick
You are so adorable! Love your $9 pound of food – it looks delish! You are one busy girl. Oh, and I have been listening to xmas music as well, it makes me in a good mood.
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli
Mmmm! Yay for wheat berries and a pound of vegan goodness! And your face! Omg, haha!
Confession: I’ve eaten brussels sprouts for 3 times in the last three days…love love love! What I don’t love? The toots that come along with them! Yep, I said it! Good thing I work alone, huh? 😉
Brittany
I have learned to embrace/accept the fact that as a vegan that eats her body weight in cruciferous veggies…gas is expected in my daily life. HA! Cest la vie right!?!
Sarah @ Feeeding the Brain and Body
Christmas music + baking = a stellar combination! Long days definitely give a good reason for spending money on food. That looks delicious, I love wheat berries but I rarely have them because they take so long to make!
thoughtsappear
I already bought some candy canes….
katalysthealth
Oh Loki….may I just say, Thor may have all the muscles, but Loki definitely has all the charisma! He’s my favorite part of the movies 🙂 Ok, so maybe second, after all those muscles 😉
And nope, not ready for xmas over here. Xmas means presents, which I currently do NOT have the money to buy.
Brittany
THANK YOU! You’re the only one that commented on my confession about Tom (yeah, I call him Tom.) I am such a creep about my obsessions…he is just soooo gorgeous! HAHA!
bensbitterblog
I keep trying to get Rainne Wilson to follow my blog but I guess he is a little too busy not doing The Office.
Catherine @ A Two Storey Home
Hah…I love the ability to look super curvy or super 12-year-old-boy-like depending on the tightness of the clothes… I’m right there with ya. Also super stoked about Christmas things!! Christmas music, baking, and a warm house–mmm 🙂
The Vegan 8
I LOVE the red apron!! Red is my absolute favorite color! That huge vegan plate of food looks so good too. I love Christmas music too and get annoyed when people complain about it being played too early! Come on people, lighten up!
B
How funny that you post about your love of Tom and I shared some photos of Tom in my latest post! LOL You marathon people are amazing, really. I could never do it. Good luck in your next race!
Kadee-Cat
My confession: I’ve never tried brussels sprouts… they freak me out a little!
Brittany
THEY ARE SO GOOD!

Hi friend! Do you have an email? I have a crazy question for you haha
GiGi Eats Celebrities
SO I FEEL REALLY FREAKING SPECIAL RIGHT NOW… BEcause I feel like I get a sneak peak at all your blog posts thanks to all of our AMAZING convos we have 😀 And now that we have skyped, we are officially a couple? LMFAOO!!! Uhhhhhh okay, BESTIES! BOOM!
And don’t you just love when you’re chowing down… and just thinking about all the money you’re eating yet…. WHO GIVES A HOOOOTTTT! It tastes FAR TOO GOOOD TO CARE! 😀
Kristina at damntenpounds
YAY for the Disney shirt!!! I have the same one. Twinsies! One of the very few perks of them making their shirts for sumo wrestlers, right? I love that you get as excited about your red Starbucks apron as the rest of us get for the holiday cups. I ordered my first beverage of the holiday season (peppermint mocha, holla!) last weekend and it was heaven. If I worked at Starbucks, I think I’d fit in my oversized Disney shirt in NO TIME.
allieksmith
Yay for the red aprons at Starbucks!! I am so jealous you work there! I seriously think you should do a post on your job!!
Meredith
red aprons=YES! I got my first red cup the other day and I was smiling ear to ear 🙂 Your lunch looks FANTASTIC, as does your breakfast!
Aussa Lorens
Your food looks amazing/delicious/scary. I envy your healthy-ness… I had pizza and cheezits for dinner. I call it picheezitsa.
Starbucks! Ah! My trips there have increased by about 300% since the temperature dropped below 60. So wondrous.
What’s my confession? Hmmm…… I left work at 3:30 today without telling anyone. I just couldn’t handle it so I switched off my 9 spaceheaters and peaced on outta there.
Melissa @ Al Forno Mementos
I’ve never noticed the red aprons …. wow. haha must be too into getting my coffee. 😛 you have the best foods. ship me some! haha things seem so much fresher up there.
Rach @ This Italian Family
That advent calendar is absolutely fabulous! Love all the Starbucks talk. 😀
