    1. This book is totally giving me a science high. With a combination of nature talk and scientific facts ABOUT nature, I get lost in the text. I even read the chapter about snails.

If you've read my blog for a while you'll know I have an odd fear of slugs/snails..this was a big deal to read that chapter!

If you’ve read my blog for a while you’ll know I have an odd fear of slugs/snails..this was a big deal to read that chapter!

    2. I was on a runners high for a solid week after my last half marathon. Thank you for all the kind comments I received on that post. I just want to say that I officially hate hornets, and I will make it my life mission to stay away from them. My stings got so itchy I wanted to GNAW my damn leg off. I have had a huge red ring of death around the entry hole for over two weeks, and I am convinced something is breeding inside my leg.

    3. Sometimes I kinda, sorta, love where I live.

    20131022-125140

    4. I have only run a handful of times since my race, and after a much needed break the last couple weeks I am ready to get back to a schedule. I also miss spin class..like..a lot. I ran my fastest 5K a couple days ago with a time of 26:44. That’s an 8:37 pace. I was elated.

    5. I have been doing a lot of this lately..reading WITH my coffee.

    20131022-124033

A good book and a good cup of coffee. Perfect morning.

    6. I finally downloaded the new iPhone update, but only after seeing it improved picture quality. I resisted for weeks, but I am a sucker for a good photo. I need a real camera…

    7. I want this chair at my table. This chair would give me permission to eat my food as if I were a tornado. Who says only kids get special high chairs?

    20131022-124205

    8. I went trick or treating last night (no, I do not have kids..) The quote of the night was when asked for our ID’s and my friend said, “we’re 13….plus 13.” I died. I’ll stop when I am 30…maybe. I gave all my loot away though, no milk chocolate for me.

    9. It’s November, and Starbucks is preparing for the holidays with a super awesome sale! I got this mug I have been lusting over for only $5! I had a partner discount too, but still!

    20131101-092228mark

    10. I am so in love with fall. I just can’t get enough of the colors, the smells, and the baked goods. I know one person that doesn’t want summer to end, but she is craayyy.

    Q: What’s your confession!?

    b

My confession is I am a compulsive book buyer and there is nothing better than a morning read with a hot cup of coffee or tea!! Last week, I bought four books from Goodwill for $2.32. TWO DOLLARS! Can’t beat that!

Congrats on your 5k!! That is so awesome! And I absolutely love that chair…”This chair would give me permission to eat my food as if I were a tornado.” LOVE that, haha!

8:37= Baller status! I need that “high chair.” Wonder what Todd would say if he walked into the house and that was at our table, haha. Your friends response was hilarious! I would have given her double candy. I can’t believe you read a chapter on snails?! So proud. one step closer to overcoming your fear 🙂 I need to hit up my Starbucks and see if they are having a sale. THat mug is Fall Perfection.

Early morning confession? I ate cake for breakfast and have spent the majority of my work day hopping around and reading people’s blogs. While some might feel shame at these two facts, I feel like I won friday.

I love the reading with coffee! There is nothing I love more than reading a good book with a hot drink. My confession….I love looking at catalogs. Mostly yarn and crafts and photography. Even though I can’t buy the stuff in it (kinda on a spending freeze at the moment), it’s fun to fantasize. I guess it’s kinda like window shopping.

My favorite thing on the weekends is to read a book/magazine with my morning cup of coffee. So much better than slamming it down at my desk at work with stupid reports, powerpoints, etc. RANT OVER.

Brittany you are SO brave to read the snail chapter!! I am really proud of you for having the courage to do that. You’re incredible girl! And on top of all that, an 8:37 pace?? You must have wings attached to your shoes — that’s so fast! 😀

I still haven’t downloaded the new iPhone update either. Is it really worth it? Does everything look topsy-turvy and crazy? Good photos are important to me too, so if the picture quality improves enough, I just might bite the bullet…

You never talk about your running on your blog (well…it’s a food blog of course you wouldn’t HA!) but I suspect you are a SPEEEEEDSTER. My small excitement over this pace is just my attempt to keep up with all you speedy runners!

Everything looks different on the iPhone with the update..butttt I kinda like it. I am always SO hesitant and hate updates, but it was like having a new phone so it was kinda fun. The photos on my phone still aren’t as good as on my friends that showed me the upgrade so I think my phone may just be old. LOL.

I’m as slow as the snails in your book chapter!! Seriously. I’m basically a 10-minute mile person. But… I just got new shoes and ran 8 miles today! Except they gave me blisters. Boo. I might have to upgrade my socks now…

Aww what a bummer! What iPhone do you have? My camera has been iffy since I first bought it, but that could also be because I’m so used to the crystal clear quality of my DSLR for food photos. Oops! 😛

I’m totally in love with Fall too. The flavors, the leaves, the clothes, the colors, my god the colors. I saw the most beautiful black on blue sky this morning on my way into work. It was all I could do to keep my eyes on the road.
Coffee and books go together. The only thing missing is the fireplace this time of year, which is yet another reason I love fall. You know another reason? Your squash picture at the end.

The cooler weather, the calmed down moods, the excitement over the upcoming holidays… Wait, I just said calmed down moods and then said excitement – HUH? Well, shit… if you know me well enough Brit, you KNOW what I MEAN!!!!!
