Thank you everyone for your input on my last post! If you’re at all interested in self hosting your blog, check out some of the comments! I know self hosting is my next step so stay tuned because I’m not sure exactly when it will happen! Now, onto today….
I went to a corn maze. It’s not officially fall until you visit the corn maze/pumpkin patch. Sadly, no ninja moves were allowed so I kept my nunchuks in my pocket.
Throughout the maze there were pumpkins with random paintings on them. My favorite was a self portrait of my child, equipped with a device for eating cereal, or ice cream.
The objective of the maze was to solve a riddle. Random letters were sprinkled all over the maze and we were to write the letters down onto a sheet of paper, and then unscramble.
Any guesses? I couldn’t figure it out and had to resort to Facebook for help. I don’t know how I passed third grade. After finding all the letters, I enjoyed the sun through the corn.
The farm also had chickens, goats, sheep, and one lone llama.
To wrap up my trip, I searched the pumpkin patch for the perfect pumpkin to bake.
When I went to pay for my pumpkin, the man did not know how to use the mobile device required for payment with a card. After asking him to find someone to help me, he asked me if I could wait a while. So I put the pumpkin back and I left. UGH I was so upset. Looks like I’ll just have to visit another pumpkin patch to get my pumpkin to bake!
Q: Have you been to a pumpkin patch or corn maze this year? Now I want to go apple picking!! I just don’t want to find any larva in my apples….eww…

the day that we planned to go was the day that i had to work so work royally fucked our annual visit to the patch! i told them to go anyway which was amazing for them but sucked for me because while i was stuck on stupid deployment calls, they were gallivanting around the patch having a grand ol’ time. #stillbitter
ps – you are adorable i can’t even deal.
Her Happy Balance
I haven’t been to the pumpkin patch this year, sadly. But I enjoyed living vicariously through all of your photos 🙂 And best wishes with switching to self-hosting. You’ll love it 🙂
you’re so cute! I love that there was a riddle with the maze- such a cool idea. How sad that you didn’t get that pumpkin! Guess you’ll just have to go to another patch this year 😉
Davida @The Healthy Maven
You are too cute! Can you believe I’ve never been to a corn maze?!?! At least I’ve been apple picking 🙂
Alex @ therunwithin
i have done not one halloween themed thing this year. sad sad sad. I hate being old!
Corn maze and pumpkin patch – that’s exactly how we spent my boyfriend’s birthday last week! Looks like you had a great time.. fall activities are so much fun 🙂
Amy @ A Desert Girl
Corn mazes suit you. You’re so adorable! I’m sorry you didn’t get your sweet little pumpkin though. Fail on their part.
Footsteps!! My mom and I used to do the Word Jumble in the comics section of the newspaper every night. It was exactly like this! We took very different approaches: I imagined the different possibilities without saying anything aloud or writing them down (the moment I did, my mind closed to other possibilities!), whereas she did the exact opposite. So frustrating sometimes! But still so fun. 🙂
Aww now I want to go to a pumpkin patch!! I haven’t been since, uhh, maybe middle school? Way too long!
WHOO! You got it haha. My title was like a secret clue! Smart girl!
It wasn’t until AFTER I commented that I realized you wrote the answer in the title! Silly me… Oops!
I wish I could do corn mazes but I get so claustrophobic!! Looks like you had a great time though! Love pumpkin patches- we’ve been like 4 times this year
Ah so fun! We went to the pumpkin patch but no mazes this year- we have some pretty cutesy places in my hometown but I’ll JUST miss it on my next visit when I go home in November. Looks like you had a blast!
So cool! That is such a fun idea. I wish we had something like this in my area.
I cannot wait to go back and read all the comments about self hosting. Thank you!! 🙂 I haven’t had a chance to go to the pumpkin patch this year and I dont know of any corn mazes in the area. I live under a rock though, I am sure there are quite a few up north. My step dad made the first pumpkin pie of the season last night. Tis the season for pumpkin everything! 🙂 BTW, you look super cute and happy in your photos!
Haven’t been to a pumpkin patch this year, but I do know I want one of those funny looking fairytale or cinderella pumpkins!!
Looks like you had a great time. I have never baked anything with a fresh pumpkin so I would love to try a recipe (hint hint)! I am so jealous you live somewhere there are actual seasons!
You are way to flipping adorable 😀 and I wish I could have gone with you!! You are going to cringe when I say this but I have NEVER been to a pumpkin patch… I KNOWWWWW? How does that even happen! LAMMEEE that you couldn’t pay for your pumpkin, if that would have been me selling you the bad boy I would have given it to you for free. I am sure they can spare a pumpkin or too.. come on now 😉
TWO* clearly I didn’t pass 3rd grade either..
Confession- I’ve never been to a pumpkin patch in my entire life. ever. Or a corn maze!
Poor baby pumpkin had to be left behind! 😦 that’s a huge bummer!
I’m working on self hosting now! Scary!

I don’t think Australia has a pumpkin patch ANYWHERE for visitors…or none that I heard of. That is such a fun concept though- solving clues through a maze! All the best with the self hosting- its so worth it!
I love the kitty painting on the pumpkin, it’s simply adorable! I haven’t been to a pumpkin patch or corn maze… I don’t even know if Buenos Aires has one! Sorry to hear about the payment issue, do they accept cash?
They did, but I don’t usually carry cash. Owell!!
This looks like such fun!! They don’t have stuff like this around here. They do have pumpkin patches, but they are pretty much just in grocery store parking lots, and sometimes they have little petting zoos. LAME!

I haven’t been to either this year… the weather just started cooling down (although it’s going to get hot again next week) and it just hasn’t felt like fall. I had friends take their kids to a corn maze and they sweat their asses off. Fall isn’t being kind to FL this year! Hope you go apple picking soon 🙂
FOOTSTEPS! Hoor-ay! And I really want to go apple picking but there always seems to be bees everywhere and since I’m allergic it’s a no-bueno situation! I really love going to ANY fall festival whether it has to do with apples, pumpkins, or corn mazes. I WANT IT ALL!
di @ life of di.
I really want to go to a corn maize! We have one about 30 minutes away – in the absolute middle of no where – and I’ve only ever been at night. I think it would be fun to go during the day though 🙂 Also, I still haven’t gone apple picking. I think tomorrow is the last day for it at the apple farm I go to 😦 We may make it out there after church but who knows! 🙂 Love the pictures as always! I hope you get to go apple picking!!
I like corn mazes but they can be a bit freaky! Especially if you get lost and can’t get out! Looks like you had a beautiful day for it.
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats
Footsteps!! Only reason I think I got it was from your title 🙂
Looks like it was lots of fun.
There is a pumpkin patch that doesn’t allow ninja moves?! That’s ridiculous and it’s probably for the best you didn’t get a pumpkin from there. It would have been so non-ninja-y. Boooooring!
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a pumpkin patch unless I did when I was little and don’t remember. I need to change this!
Too bad you didn’t get that adorable little pumpkin, but you’ll find another 🙂
How dare that employee not get back to you quick enough. Should have thrown the pumpkin at his head – picked it up ran straight to your car =)… jk that would be mean.
Bahaha you crack me up! If you were there to run with my to my car I might have thrown a leaf or something at him, so that I didn’t knock him out! BAHAH.
WHAT WAS THE RIDDLE WORD!?!? I dont get it either…. we would be the same in this puzzle maze. I still have not gone to the pumpkin patch (Im hoping next week!?!)….. are you sitting in sand while holding your tiny pumpkin?!?
I love that you found a pumpkin with a cat painted upon it. It was like, made for you.
Footsteps!! HA! I am actually sitting on ANOTHER tiny pumpkin, in the sand. HA. I actually thought of you and your cloud spoon too with the spoon and the cat pumpkin.
Life After Swimming
So fun! I went to a corn maze yesterday with my swimmers! Love it 🙂
I love the corn maze! Ours right now is this haunted corn maze that’s terrifying, so I’m opting out of attending until AFTER Halloween. The pumpkin patches in town, however, are completely normal and nice. I HAVE been to those, and they are fabulous.
Change of Pace
Sounds like a lot of fun! We have an enormous corn maze here but sadly I’ve never been! Hope you got a pumpkin to bake 🙂
Matt @ Runner Savvy
I’ve never been to a corn maze!

I went to a pumpkin patch/apple orchard a few weekends ago and loved all the fresh apples I got! The perfect fall activity! I’m sorry you didn’t get your pumpkin 😦
We decided to skip the pumpkin patch this year, but I’m still hoping to make it to a corn maze one evening this week.
I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get the pumpkin. =( I hope he found a good home.
Those darn riddles! They’re always so tough haha. I am pretty jealous that you are wearing sandals in the pictures. I wish it was sandal weather here!! People have had Uggs on for about 2 months now. UGH is right. Haha.
I was supposed to go to a local corn maze with my church, but the weather was bad (rain + wind + cold), so we had to cancel. Poop. I do need to visit a pumpkin patch though!
Gah! Ty and I had plans to go to a pumpkin patch and apple picking this past Friday but the place is only open Saturdays and Sundays. I almost cried…
I once found a maggot in a chewable calcium vitamin and gag everyday i think about it since..
WHAT?!?!?!?!?! In your vitamin..WTF! OMG I would have died..DIED!
Melissa @ Al Forno Mementos
I got my site self hosted and decorated with banner and all in less than a day so it should be a piece of cake for you! annnnnnnnnd that sucks. I don’t like when people who work somewhere don’t know how to work something. ESP when it’s a customer trying to buy something. dummmmb.
Your Fall fun posts make me so jealous! I feel like you live in an Autumn Wonderland.
Rach @ This Italian Family
So sad that you didn’t get to bring your pumpkin home with you! 😦 Glad you had fun, though!

You are so funny! Pass the 3rd grade! That would be me too …I would totally suck at all that! I’m a total airhead sometimes, lol! I have never been to a pumpkin patch or corn maze either.
