Posted at 6:50 AM by Brittany, on July 19, 2013

    1. My dad once told me, “a sandwich is not a sandwich without some crunch.” I couldn’t agree more. Chips make for the ultimate crunch in a sandwich, but so does kale and chard.

    20130718-113701

    Perfect bread:greens ratio.

    Perfect bread:greens ratio.

    2. I’ve consumed way too much coffee lately. Sigh.

    3. I won the most amazing giveaway a few days ago. I was lucky enough to finally try Lindsay’s healthy bites and OH MY GOSH. They have been taunting me for months, but after tasting them..I died and went to heaven. Please order yourself some, NOW!

    20130718-113724

    4. I was supposed to store my healthy bites in the freezer, but that was not necessary. I knew they would be gone within a few days…I was right…

    5. I got my first pair of compression socks in the mail. They are cozy.

    Black..to match my soul.

    Black..to match my soul.

    6. I signed up for my third half marathon in October. Whoop whoop. I am super jazzed.

    7. The only reason I carry a bag while I’m away on day trips is to smuggle food with me.

Food and a rubber-banded wad of cash...to buy more food.

Food and a rubber-banded wad of cash…to buy more food.

    8. I’m almost ashamed at the amount of PB I have eaten in the last week. Almost, but not really. I will be getting more the moment I hit publish on this post.

    9. My cat has learned how to climb up jackets that are hanging on the wall. Such a ninja.

Please notice the tongue slightly sticking out. Such a creep.

Please notice the tongue slightly sticking out. Such a creep.

    10. This post is ridiculously sporadic and has little to no depth. For a more meaningful post go back and read my last post about my amazing running. I love running. YAY running.

    Q: What’s your confession?

    b

Chips on sammies = awesomeness! I always liked BBQ chips on turkey 🙂 THe bag thing is too, funny… most girls I know have a purse- read bag- full of random female things, ie make up, brush, nail file, while I have a purse full of food. And sporadic posts are always my fave!

Yay for PB…and AB!! And that is a fantastic idea to add kale to sandwiches. I need to give that a try! It would definitely give me some variety over the traditional lettuce or spinach.

Your father speaks very wise words… crunchy goes with sandwishes for sure. I love adding cucumbers for this factor. You can never have too much PB, silly! that is amazing you won a give away yayyyy!

Speaking of pb and crunch, you know what is really good? a pg and jelly sandwish layered with potote chips. try it. it is amazing.

You have been running so well!!! I still haven’t ran all week…. I am just accepting it and going to meet my running peeps tomorrow morning for a run (so no way can i miss it) and get back on track then. At least i am lifting a lot of heavy boxes and furniture…. my arms are working out. But then I plan to drink lots of wine to celebrate so maybe I’m canceling it all out…..

Damn girl…that greens to bread ratio is intense! Is chard good uncooked? I was under the impression it was rather bitter. Perhaps I need to give it another chance.

I LOVE chard uncooked, it’s kale that is usually a bit bitter for me when raw. I found that when combining them both on a sandwich with mustard and other veggies I can’t even taste them!

You’re hilarious! That sandwich does look hella good and very healthy, unlike the wings I will be indulging in tonight – there’s my confession, although it’s a little preemptive. I won those wings fair and square so no guilt. I bet you’re just drooling over me talking about meat. Ugh, I suck, sorry. Ok here’s another confession: I bought Enjoy Life chocolate chips, which are Paleo (but still chocolate chips), and I’ve been sneaking small handfuls wayyyyyyy too often in the last two days. Not so healthy if I eat them ALL, even if they are Paleo.

Wait.. there is such a thing as too much coffee?! That is news to me 😉

I have been so tempted to get myself compression socks! Everyone raves about them. I’m doing another half in october too, maybe I will get a pair before then! 🙂

I’m a total food hoarder/carrier too – I carry two bags to work, one is filled with tupperware boxes and the other is filled with snacks, it’s the only way 😉 ! Way to go on the running and the half marathon, sounds like you are on a complete roll with the running now so best to ride that wave! Love the cat photo too – looks like he is scoping me out 8)

Haha food stashing- love it! No shame, no shame! Ah peanut butter is always good. I tried your peanut butter with a few chocolate chips the other day as a dessert and it was amazing. 😀

Bhaha! Seriously your cat pictures always crack me up! Also, I am all about your sammy with a crunch! I haven’t tried crunchier greens in a sandwich. That’s a great idea!
