If you were to tell me a year ago that I would end up running more than I bake, I would laugh in your face. I started running to challenge myself with a sport many people steer away from. As I’ve increase my mileage I have realized my beloved five fingers aren’t going to be enough for my longer runs. With that said, I buckled down and bought a pair of running shoes.
I had my heart set on the bright blue and green pair of Brooks, but when I found out the running shop didn’t have a single pair of Brooks in my size, I opened my mind to something else. I tried on at least 5 pairs of shoes before buying the first and ugliest pair I had tried on.
My immediate thought when I put these on was, “these look like old lady shoes.” Despite the hideous yellow and grey, these shoes felt the best..or so I thought. I ran a couple miles in these and while I was running they felt fine, but then when I was walking around after my run I felt as if my foot was folding into the inside of the shoe. I am new to running shoes like this so I don’t know what I should be looking for. My feet are comfortable in the shoe, and while running I felt ok..so I am torn on how to decide if I love them. These weren’t cheap and I want to be sure I love them so I can get some serious mileage in.
I want this shirt to go with my new shoes.

Umm those shirts are too adorable for words. Good luck!! Running shoes are really important to be PERFECT. I tried on like a million and I just knew that when I put on the brooks adrenaline they felt the best. When I was trying on the others, I was like these are fine.. I’m not sure.. but then once I put on the brooks, I was like ok decision made. And I can NEVER make decisions. They need to feel amazing!

I would recommend finding a running store and having them fit you for shoes—they can video tape your feet while you run on a t-mill and know which types of shoes will work best for you. Get them to tell you why they’re making certain recommendations (pronation, collapsed arch, etc.)….remember that, and remember the recommendations for shoe brand/model they make, and then find them online for cheaper!! …or find other shoes that have the same features that will support your needs. That’s just my 2-cents 🙂

Awesome tips lovely Lisa. I did get my shoes from a running store, so they watched me walk and move and decided I needed a neutral shoe due to my pronation. Hopefully they were right! I did splurge and buy them on site..however my future plan and plan for everything else in life has and will be to find them cheaper online!! I am a frugal beast!

First of all, I”M BACK. And really sorry I went into hiding like an extinct rhino.
Second of all, Looooove your shoes. But don’t feel discouraged if they do in fact don’t work for you and hurt your feet- ditch em and get another pair. Even though your losing money, it took me about 3 pairs before I found a brand and style that fit me to the core. And now I have no problems 🙂
Third of all, I want to come to your marriage with manfriend (I am just ASSUMING this will happen since you have matching shirts for running with hearts on them). We can all wear running shoes together.
