  • NO MORE CATS

Posted at 6:27 AM by Brittany, on February 5, 2015

This week I’m spending some quality time with this guy.

    IMG_0314

I’m house sitting until the 13th, which means I will be hanging up my crazy cat lady apron and going on multiple daily dog walks instead. I house/dog sat this guy back in October so we’re already lifelong friends. House sitting meant making a trip to TJ’s.

    IMG_0315

That’s all I bought. Just kidding. I wanted to highlight/share the new hemp seeds they’re selling. Fantastic purchase. I also picked up the usual 15 lbs of produce, along with a new to me treat. When I worked at TJ’s I was in charge of the cookie order (go figure right) yet I never actually tried these cookies…until now.

    IMG_0324

These chocolate cats are pure evil, they’re straight from Satan’s bowel movements. I cannot stop eating them. The tub has 15 servings and I ate HALF the tub in two days. As if it couldn’t get any worse I also thought this would be a good idea…

    IMG_0316

…it was not. The PB jar is also half gone in two days.

    IMG_0323

The cat made me do it.

No more cats. NO, get them away from me.

There is one positive outcome from this gluttonous cat adventure I embarked on. Both days I ate the cat/pb combo I had insanely good energy for my evening spin class. I could hear the cats crying as they dripped from my pours. That sounded gross, sorry.

Seriously though, I’ve never ended a spin class with a higher watt (power) output than I had at the beginning. So maybe the cats can stay…no…yes…no.

Moral of the story: do not purchase cat cookies when you’re house sitting alone.

Q: Have you tried these cats? They also make them cinnamon flavored….

I love those!! Luckily… I am no where near a Trader Joes. But… once I move, I probably will restart the addiction. I miss the delicious Trader Joe treats (I’ve even gotten my fiancé hooked on cookie butter!)

Chocolatey Cat Cookies = My Kryptonite. No joke. I have to put the shopping bag in my trunk so that I don’t devour the entire container on my fifteen minute drive back to my house (I also dip them in the same peanut butter.) And no worries about eating half the tub of cookies in two days – I’ve eaten half a jar of that peanut butter in one day. I’m actually taking a peanut butter hiatus until Easter. I couldn’t seem to control my binging on the glorious stuff. Trying to reboot. Why does nut butter have to be so unbelievably delicious + high calorie! NOOO.

You are one strong soul to give up nut butters for TWO MONTHS!? I actually told myself (and a friend to keep me accountable) that today I am staying AWAY from all healthy fats. ALL of them. I need a reboot…a one day reboot haha. Instead I’m eating the cardboard like crap of powdered PB. HAHA. I’m clearly addicted.

I ate a jar of the PB2 in two sittings a few weeks ago. It’s seriously out of control. No lie – I would prefer peanut butter to a lot of desserts. Hopefully I can get a hold of this little addiction with a few months away from it. 😩

I’ve never been a big cat person.. until now. Thanks for creating yet another obsession for me. You know I’m on board with the high caloric/cookie idea for post workout. It’s not just you… we should do an experiment and have people try it and see if there’s an over all theme 🙂

You US folk and your Trader Joes! I’ve actually been to one on my visit to California, but that was many years ago, long before I had any particular interest (or need to be interested, being a kid) in food – although even then I marvelled and delighted at the almond horns and sugar cookies. Both complete novelties!

Alas, I shall have to be content with using a bar of dark chocolate for PB dipping until I get an excuse to visit again.

My last trip I chose the cookie butter sandwich cookies (omg!!!) over the cat cookies. They had a beautiful cookie display on the end shelf but alas, I managed to choose one or the other. There’s always next time!!! Haha. I wish the cookie butter cookies were vegan so you could try them! And, seriously, the picture of the cat stuck in the peanut butter is making me DROOL. It just looks so delicious. I NEED TO GO BACK TO TJS RIGHT MEOW!

I picked up the cookie butter cookies…and felt a sense of relief to find they were NOT vegan. That’s just one more thing I would have to stay away from otherwise. When treats have milk in them it makes my job much easier. HAHA. The cookie butter itself is fair game though…so I could always make my own. THEN I WOULD HAVE AN ENTIRE JAR on hand and that would be dangerous.

Hi Britt! So you used to work at TJ’s? That’s awesome! The fact that you still like to shop there after working there is a testament to the wonderfulness that is Trader Joe’s. I grew up with cats, but don’t think I would have them again. I don’t have any pets right now, but looks like a dog is in the near future. You’re a good person to house sit. And nice work on spinning it out while high on cat carbs. 🙂

I don’t know. The after math of the cat cookies sounds to be a great thing. I think they should be a regular part of your routine.

The neighbors dropped off an entire plate filled with homemade Sea Salt Chocolate Chip cookies yesterday. They’re almost entirely gone and I can assure you they won’t last the day. No regrets.
