  • No, I Don’t Even Lift

Posted at 7:47 AM by Brittany, on November 15, 2014

It’s cold. Not Midwest cold, but IT’S COLD!

    Elsa, is that you?

    Elsa, is that you?

The drop in temps has resulted in any running being swapped out for spin classes and a Jillian Michaels DVD. I’m being a wuss and staying inside.

I follow a good number of people on Instagram that lift weights. They are toned, tiny, and pack away a solid amount of “comfort foods.” I on the other hand lift nothing but my cats, and the occasional cookie to my mouth. After seeing bowls of nut butter cereal cookies with ice cream and so on, I decided to make my own version.

I took my morning oats and jazzed them up a bit with some toppings.

    IMG_3152

Whole grain oats with pumpkin, cinnamon, a blob of peanut butter, and CINNAMON PUFFINS! How I’ve never experienced this cereal is beyond me, this is my new favorite breakfast combo. This is as crazy as I get though, the thought of eating Oreo’s everyday makes my brain go into a diabetic coma.

    No...no I do not.

    No…no I do not.

I also lift 5lb bags of coffee daily, real talk.

Speaking of coffee, I was so jazzed by a coffee tasting my coworker put together. I delegate one barista a week to do a coffee tasting with the crew in an attempt to broaden coffee knowledge. This barista took it to the next level and I was so proud.

    img_3179

He made a poster board, and bought VEGAN cinnamon donuts from a Seattle company to pair with Christmas Blend. I usually have to make my own treats for tastings, so this was a real treat having him buy something Brittany friendly.

Terrible paragraph transition in 3…2..1…I discussed my love for curled up chips a few posts back and discovered many of you also enjoy the curled chips. I thought about how genius it would be to create an entire bag that was just curled chips.

Well, Target stole my idea. Rude.

    img_3182

I “lifted” this entire bag to my face in less than 2 days. So good. Also good…

This also finds its way into my morning oats sometimes.

This also finds its way into my morning oats sometimes.

Q: Is it cold yet where you are? Did I mention how excited I am to escape to Arizona next month!? GIVEMEHEAT

It has gotten just cool enough to enjoy several cups of tea yesterday. I lifted about 5 cups of tea yesterday 🙂 I like the cold, but I get cold easily!
Ooh! Cinnamon Puffins are delicious. It’s been a long times since I had some.

I have been known to lift weights but now am happily stuck on TRX classes where the only weight I lift is my own body weight. It is working for me. I learnt how to blend coffees while on holiday in Canada and love to mix and match blends, your spicy Christmas blend does sound good.

Uuuugh it is so cold here by my standards. I workout outside and I’m dreading it this winter. I may need to pick up a JM dvd myself. I can do 100 burpees in 100 degree heat, but Do Not ask me to run any length in any temperature under 55. Not happening. At least not well.

It is very cold here in SC (currently 37 but feels like 31)…trying to see if it’s going to warm up just a little bit before hitting the pavement for my long run of 14 miles…so not looking forward to it…wish I could ‘lift’ a cupcake or something else bad for me instead :).

It is bone-chilling cold here in TN! It went from a nice 50-60 degrees to the freaking teens and 20s in no time FLAT. I had to break out my running tights for my run Tuesday night when it was 26 degrees, and it still took me two hours in my fleece lounge pants, fuzzy robe, and fluffy blanket to completely thaw out!

It is chilly in MN, but since I’m cozy inside… it isn’t so bad! Especially since last winter was a lot chiller. So cool about the coffee tasting — how fun! I am dreaming of trying that nog soon. But since we don’t have any close by, I’m settling on the So Delicious coconut milk Nog that I bought last night… =)

It is getting chilly here in NY as well! We’ve had snow sticking and heat getting turned up. I have been inside on the treadmill a lot but am trying to plan runs outside with friends so I keep the outside going. I don’t like egg nog much, is that holiday nog of the same taste?

It’s MUCH more mild than traditional eggnog. I didn’t care for eggnog much myself because it was way too thick and coated my mouth in a nasty way. This is lighter, but with similar holiday spices. If you REALLY don’t like eggnog then I would say maybe not so much, but if you’re up for it I would try one of the seasonal nog’s. They make many brands and milks!

I feel ya on the dog walks. I’m only doing this for 2 weeks, but I no longer think about having a dog like I mentioned in my last post. Still too much work. I DON’T WANT TO walk when it’s 20 degrees out! HAA.

The warm weather is supposed to bring a cold front, so we’ll see… I hope that barista of your gets a spot bonus for being so awesome with their pairing. And Target is just plain awesome, although, you could’ve made millions from that idea. All the lifting I do is in Body Pump. I’m obsessed.
