If you’ve been following my posts lately, you’ll know I was on the east coast for some fun adventures. Although I love the idea of a completely spontaneous trip, this one was planned for months and had a purpose. I flew to DC to stay with Megan, and she and I drove north to Michigan to attend Lily’s wedding. Us bloggers are crazy folk I tell ya.
Megan and I had met before, so I knew being with her for a week straight would be fine. Neither of us had physically met Lily, but somehow I knew that would be fine too. There is an unspoken bond between bloggers that makes it totally normal to do what we did.
I don’t usually do well on long car rides…I drink a lot of water, which means I pee a lot. I get antsy easily, which means I need to punch dance a lot. I don’t like sitting too long because my butt goes numb, and frankly being in a confined space for 8 hours is rough.
Much to my surprise, the long ride with Megan was not only tolerable, but dare I say fun?
Lily did an amazing job with this wedding, she handmade her invites, seating cards, gifts, and more. Not to mention the cathedral was gorgeous. Detroit was just littered with cathedrals. I think one of my favorite parts, was how vegan friendly she made this.
Oh – and she was absolutely stunning. SO unbelievably gorgeous I can’t even describe it.
The theme was 1920’s and everything was perfect. I drank, I ate, I danced, and I had a roaring good time. I’ve been dying to use the photo booths at weddings, and I finally did.
Congratulations to Lily and her new hubby Cory, they are wonderful together and I just adore them both to pieces. Thank you for everything Lily, your wedding was perfect.
These are the friends that will last a lifetime.
Q: What’s something crazy you’ve done recently?

SO AWESOME!! you look amazing and adorable too. i would have loved to see “brittany, bitch” on your place card but maybe that’s not appropriate wedding-speak?
That would have been LEGIT. Can you get married again (to the same guy of course) and invite me? I expect something wild and profane on my place card.
Looks like such a fun weekend – and a Gatsby party is awesome!
Fab week! That cathedral is gorgeous!
The best thing about bloggers is from reading each other’s blogs you already have so much to talk about, and you already know the ups and downs of that person’s life. It is like you’re close friends already!
Exactly!! I just love blog land! 🙂

These photos are fantastic! 8 hours in a car is a long time, but it sure looks like it was totally worth it! I honestly haven’t done anything crazy lately…that needs to change!
Oh my. Amazing. I love 20’s theme. you have no idea. That would be an amazing party. The hair, clothes, makeup. Love it all.
It looks like such a fun weekend!
OMG!!! I CANT BELIEVE I WROTE MRS. So sorry! Those were very difficult to cut out and paste together and I probably got a few names wrong….. but I”M SO HAPPY WE MET AND EVERYTHING WAS FUN AND YOU LOVED YOUR VEGAN MEALLLLL.
I wish we had got into that photobooth together! guess we have to go to another wedding (megans????) and make a point to take a pic together with crazy props. I LOVE your headpiece and I love how pirate is like flying in the background on that one pic ahahhahahah. Your room had such an awesome view! yayyyy

Don’t be sorry, I thought it was hilarious!! AHHH I WISH WE PHOTOBOOTHED IT! I definitely had a few drinks that caused me to be a little spacey (you know me..I do NOT drink…Megan was a good influence on me hahaha.) Megans wedding..you and I are gonna be taking photobooth photos all night long.
Woof. My wedding? Let’s tell that to my peter pan (but lovely!!) boyfriend haha

How fun!! I love the 20’s theme. You look amazing! And that meal looked TASTY.
This is amazing! I love the idea of a 20s themed wedding– and I’ll admit, when I saw the “Mrs.” I was like “Oh? Wait? What, really?” because I was pretty sure you had made some statements very much to the contrary haha!
BAHAHA NO WAY JOSE!! #singlefolyfe

This is fabulous! What an amazing wedding! I love the theme! Looks like so much fun. 🙂
Wow, how cool is that?! What a fun looking wedding and the location of the reception looks beautiful! Also, I’m only about 45 minutes from Detroit!
I hope you enjoyed your time in Detroit! There is so much cool architecture in this area that doesn’t get publicized. Sounds like the wedding was a blast; the married couple are friends of some friends, and all of the photo booth pictures I’ve seen look very fun.
My next post is almost completely dedicated to Detroit’s architecture!! I LOVED it!! Also, what a small world!! Lily and Cory are wonderful people!!

You guys look amazing! What a fun wedding! Thanks for sharing all of your awesome pics!
Oh what a beautiful hand stamped gift. LOVE! And…I love your necklace and entire outfit. Way too cute lady!
That looks like so much fun. Once I finally have a real life and I’m not in school anymore, blogger visits sound amazing. Also, you are not that far from me, so hopefully one day we can meet up! The wedding looked amazing, and I’m so glad you had a wonderful time!
YES! We should meet up for coffee sometime for SURE!
I’m thinking of coming down to Seattle for the half marathon Nov 30… you should run it with me. As in, we would start together but you are much faster, but we could meet up for sure.
I LOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCH!! I would love to…I ran this half last year and wanted to run it again!! Prepare for TOTAL DOMINATION in the form of hills. I don’t anticipate and records being set for me. HAHA.
Life After Swimming
God those pictures are amazing. You guys are beyond beautiful. And I am still amazing how accommodating she was. Love this!
I love the theme! Very cool – I’ve never seen that before… looks like it was lots of fun!! Did you survive the drive back too? LOL
The drive back was a little rough. From a combination of too many drinks the night before and a hunger beast that was raging the entire last half of the drive..I was more than jazzed to get OUT OF THE CAR. 🙂
Such a cool idea for a themed wedding!! Love that! You looked beautiful! My sister is having a photo booth so now I’m really excited about it. Road trips are so much funner with friends, it’s the truth!
Food, Booze, & Baggage
Wow that wedding venue looks gorgeous and I love the theme! How fun! I also hate long car rides…I’m very antsy and just want to get to the destination 😉

I cry. I punch dance every day of my life. I hope you punch danced at this wedding, while you were texting me…. It’s almost as if we were punch dancing together.

Melanie @ Happy Being Healthy
What a fun, fun trip and absolutely beautiful wedding! That cathedral looks unbelievable and I love the Gatsby theme. So fun.
Brittany, this is incredible!! Your entire trip, especially the wedding… It’s brave, it’s fun, it’s crazy, it’s perfect, it’s YOU! So, so happy for you that you had fun with your blogging friends, and hopefully we’ll be able to make up a fun adventure together someday too! 🙂
OH I have no doubts we will someday meet, and it will be wonderful. Filled with coffee and treats and hour long conversations! ❤
HOORAY!!! Let’s try to make it happen in the next 6 months, shall we? 🙂
What an awesome & unique wedding. I can’t believe y’all drove the whole way to Michigan. How fun! Last time I did that, I saw a car completely on fire alongside the road. It was quite horrific.
