1. Last week I started Insanity. I also started training for my next half marathon two weeks ago, this has made for some very sore days. Insanity has made my calves so sore they want to punch me in the face. I have to walk down the stairs like a pregnant woman.
2. One of my coworkers has a YouTube channel. She vlogs, I blog..we are basically a match made in heaven. We also both love to get cracked out on coffee, best friends for life. Her videos seriously crack me up, I just adore her.
3. My runs lately have felt like I’m eating a cloud. So fluffy amazing. I just want to cry they are going so well. I would like to thank good music and a good mindset. This song in particular gets me REALLY FREAKING JAZZED! I get chills and run fast..aka 9:00 miles.
4. This past weekend I went to Seattle’s Hempfest for an hour. I felt like I needed an adult for 50 of those 60 minutes. So many characters…I might have been a bit scared.
5. I inhaled the banana breads I baked last week. I shared half of the haul (thank God) but the other half was gone in just a couple days. They tasted better with each bite!
6. Speaking of Insanity (and food), it has revved up my metabolism so much that it’s like everything I eat literally passes right through me. No stopping to pass go and collect $200. No complaints though, my intestines feel like a wrung out sponge. So fresh and clean.
7. The other evening I spent a good hour sitting on my couch looking outside and listening to the rain. I had both my cats with me and it was the most relaxing evening. I cannot wait for fall. This was the first rainy day in a while, bring it on mother nature!
8. One of my regular customers at work told me that she was texting her friend while running, and forgot that she was running. I don’t know what endurance gels she takes but I want some. I would pay serious money to zone out like that, until she said she fell…
9. This finally happened after a three month separation..

Q: What’s your confession?

ohohohohoh you are doing insanity and H-M training!?!?!? you crazy fit beast you! sitting and listening to the rain is the best! however, i don’t know if it is the best with a cat beside you… for you, i imagine it is peaceful. for me, it would be an anxiety-im-waiting-to-be-attacked kind of sitting.
im happy you have a BFF at work, that is the best. makes it seem less like work and more like awesome-friend-time. speaking of starbucks, i finally got the coffee grounded and enjoyed cups of it this weekend…. SO.TASTY. and the lady that ground my coffee was super friendly and smiley and i kept thinking ‘i bet this is what brittany is like, the super friendly barista.’ and then i wished i could visit yours.
the fall will be here soon missy!
sincerelylily
i just want to note, i am the first to comment. this never happens. time zone advantage- bazinga!
Megan
I am a little upset. I thought I was going to be the first comment but after I hit submit you managed to weasel in. NOT COOL LILY.
Brittany
Lily, I am for sure that super friendly barista that always smiles. It’s hard not to smile when the smell of coffee is running through your nostrils. Such a happy scent. WHOOOOO so jazzed you got your coffee ground!
MEGAN! Wuv you! That is all.
Megan
My confessions… I miss having an iPhone because we used to text more… weird right?
kathy @ vodka and soda
I’M GOING TO SAY THIS IN ALL CAPS SO YOU KNOW I MEAN BIDNESS BUT INSANITY IS THE MOST AMAZING AND AWESOME PROGRAM EVER!!!!! if you think month 1 is a killer, just wait until month 2…that’s when you weep in despair and scream in anger at the same time LOL.
keep it up and please post about your thoughts/progress with insanity!!!
Brittany
You remind me of Tania..she is a beast and super cute…andddd so are you. Shit I am scared for month two…
Emily
I want to do Insanity! I’ve done P90x like 3 times through so I need a new thing hah! My confession is that I’ve been meaning to study for my board exam but… I haven’t. I’ve been living the F-unemployment life of couch-potato.
Erin
My confession is that I haven’t worked out in 3 weeks. Like done nothing haha. It’s ridiculous.
carrie
omg. i still go to some “events” and im just like dear god i feel like i need a chaperone! am i really qualified enough to be here alone?!?! haha
katalysthealth
Mmmmm CHIPOTLE!! Ive actually never had a burrito though. Im going to be honest…those things scare the crap out of me. So freaking ginormous!
Brittany
BAHAHA TRUTH! I used to eat the entire thing, but these days I just eat half and either split it with someone or save it for later!
ahellams
I am not a cat person but that pictures of your cat is gorgeous! You are absolutely nuts training for a half AND doing insanity, even I am not that crazy!!
chasingchels
I wish i could text while running! It would make things much more interesting at times, but it’s definitely not an option. The few times I’ve tried, I’ve ended up almost tripping or running into things…so i’ve definitely learned my lesson 😛 my confession today? I nominated you for the sunshine award in my post today 😉 happy monday!
MegBek
That is wonderful about your runs feeling so fantastic!! I’m so happy for you!! 🙂 🙂 That’s the best feeling ever.
Super jealous that you started Insanity, I want to do it too! I can’t wait to hear about how it all goes for you! Yay for a work friend who VLOGS! WOO!
di @ life of di.
Reason #3974 that I wish we lived close to one another: You are doing Insanity, I just got Insanity but wish I had someone to do it with 😦 It is a bit intimidating. I also intended on starting my half marathon training today but opted for a spin class instead. Oops!! PS- I love that picture of our cat! Adorable!
Brittany
AHH!! I would LOVE to do Insanity with someone..it’s really not that bad!! You just have to DO IT! I have to go slower than the people on the video for some of the jumping things, but I accept it haha.
Courtney
I wish I had a coworker who blogs/vlogs… that’s awesome that you do! 😀
Britta
F. Scott Fitzgerald, you wise wise man! That quote makes me swooooooooooon. So happy to hear that you are kicking some serious ass at running! Hundo P agree that good music is definitely needed during runs.. I would NOT make it off the couch most days without some good tunes. Insanity still scares me so I will just live vicariously through you 🙂 Yes, good plan. I wish food went right through me… food likes to stay attached to my southern areas quite a lot which is why I run, well, a third of the reason why I run….so maybe I should try insanity…gah, tooooo many decisions! Soooo I still need to come to seattle (when I am not extremely poor) so that we can listen to the rain together..and of course do loads of other stuff. I’ll bring my rain boots so we can splash around in puddles too.
Brittany
I swooned so hard when I saw that quote!! HA! PLEASE COME SPLASH IN PUDDLES WITH ME! HAHA
Change of Pace
GREAT confessions, although none were scandalous to be true confessions!
I love that photo of your cat- it’s beautiful! That must have been so relaxing to listen to the rain with them.
I’m happy your running is going so well! That’s really exciting!
My confession- I’ve taken bad runner tan lines to a new level of bad this summer with KT tape tan lines on my knees and legs.
Happy Monday!
spectacuLAUR
Okay, so I pretty much fall more in love with you every time you post. First, you are my freaking SAVIOUR for posting this song! I heard it on my walk the other morning and when I got home, I couldn’t find it on the radio’s website and couldn’t remember the lyrics. AKSJDFJSDF YAY! Second, that quote by Fitzgerald sums up my feelings right now. Third, lets drink coffee, eat banana bread, and watch leaves fall together!!!! Lol
Brittany
SOOOO glad I could help you with this song..it’s so freaking amazing! I LOVE your ideas of eating bread and coffee with LEAVES! FALL FALL FALL!
Shira
Amazing Britt! Congrats on your upcoming training and half marathon! You sound like your lovely bubbly self and as usual bring a smile to my face. I love to get CRACKED out on coffee too – in fact, I kind of count on it 😉 xx
Lisa
I swear it’s unreal at how fast I go through a loaf of banana bread. It’s crazy how much faster that goes then when I make another flavor of loafs.
I always love these posts, because we’re totally similar.
Haha, I tried out insanity once and holy, it’s a killer.
Davida @The Healthy Maven
I love insanity!!! I’ve never actually followed the program but I do 1 or 2 of the workouts a week. Shaun T seriously kicks my butt…also Tanya’s abs are pretty motivating 😉
Confession for me is that I have ZERO appeal to cook lately. I ate out for almost all my meals this week. Where has my motivation gone?!?! Hoping a little pinterest browsing will inspire me!
Brittany
Shaun T is a BEAST!! I lost my motivation to cook for like two months…hahaha I still have only cooked a few times, everything else is just simple meals like grains and veggies!! Your motivation will come back eventually!
allieksmith
Insanity is definitely insane. My 15 year old sister did the whole program and killed it! I don’t know how she did it because I tried one of the DVDs last week and died afterwards haha! I was SO hungry the next day. Cray cray!
Hannah
I’m still a wee runner and did my first 5K run (not an event – just on my own) on Saturday. I was ravenous for the rest of the day!
Throwback to an earlier post – Based on your recommendation I tried the Vega Pre-Workout Energizer before bootcamp this morning and LOVED IT. I recently up-ed my weights and have obviously been struggling. My body was able to push a lot more than it has lately. I seriously love this drink!
Brittany
I AM SO EXCITED THAT YOU TRIED THE VEGA energizer!! I am even more jazzed that you love it!! I do too!! WHOOO! Awesome job on the 5K run!!
Alex @ Cookie Dough Katzen
I want to try Insanity. I’ve heard it’s an awesome workout. Have a great Monday Britt!
jessiebearwhat
Love this song!

You’re doing Insanity?!?! I did P90X plyo with Kiefer once. I can’t imagine Insanity.
alex@vegginout
SO glad to hear your runs are going so well!!! 9 miles?! You GO GIRL! I did 9.25 miles yesterday, and I still can’t believe I went that far. But thanks to you, I did! 😀 And my appetite has been through the roof lately too, and I must tay that I’m rather enjoying it. 😉
pickyrunner
I love seeing how your running is going and how happy you are! Running is the best when you feel like you’re floating and it makes me even more excited to get out the door every day 🙂 basically YAY! I’ve never tried insanity but a good friend of mine did it and he loved it. So intense!
Amy
(1) LOVE that picture of your cat staring out the window! So artistic (and great composition!).
(2) I’ve never tried Insanity, but I recently bought a kettlebell. Ohmygosh. Same thing — I’m hungry ALL the time! Who knew that workouts other than crazy long runs could make me eat this much!
(3) I’ve never been to Chipotle. Seriously. And there has ALWAYS been one in whatever town I live in. I think this needs to change… (Then again, I was spoiled with a gourmet burrito place near my parents’ place. Maybe that’s why.)
(4) Keep your confession posts coming; they’re so much fun to read!!
Amy @ A Desert Girl
Girrrrl….Insanity and HM training?? Can I please have an ounce of your energy? Just one ounce. Then maybe I’d make it to the gym more than once a week. Well done, you!!
The picture of the cat – love love love.
Also, work BFF’s are the best. I’m glad you found a kindred spirit in the workplace.
Amalia
You’re a nut for doing Insanity and HM training and I love it. You are one fit beast. I’m glad you are enjoying Starbucks — some of my best friends in life have come from working with them. Not to mention the healthcare benefits are awesome. Thanks for sharing that song, I’m going to run to it when I finally get out and run…. so never at this rate.
I really want to do Insanity… but I think I may die.
pjsassifras
You are a badass. I napped for six hours this weekend (3 on Sat & 3 on Sun). Man, was my metabolism ON FIRE after that. LOL! I also only did just decided not to do laundry. Hence the reason why I had so much time to nap.
Alisha's Appetite
I love that fall quote! And nice work on the insanity! I can imagine it’s as insane as everyone says it is.
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
I love that picture too… And I have absolutely no idea what it feels like to eat a cloud, but I would like to! Confession: I had plans to make your banana bread, but I’ve kind of been eating bananas like crazy lately so they don’t ever have the chance to ripen. I need an intervention…
EverdayLivingPNW
Funny u said that…I felt like an old man at Hempfest! All the youth and their weird things. Glad to hear u went though!
B.
HEY! You were at the Chipotle I go to ?!?!? Cray. Waiting in that line probably felt like 3 more months.
I’m also stealing that F. Scott Fitzgerald quote. Because I need to blog about the fall.
I also love that song. and I need to try Insanity at some point, but I’m thinking I should build up to be a better worker-outer before I do that.
Brittany
EVERY Chipotle I go to has a line…EVERY SINGLE ONE!! HAHAHA. It’s so worth it though..
B.
Yes. I could just eat chipotle rice, beans, mild salsa and guac every day for the rest of my life and be totally happy.
Ja @Ja on the RUN
1.) Hey good job on the Insanity workout! No pain, no gain!!! Keep it up!!! 🙂
3.) Nice! 9min/miles. I need that song!
5.) I love banana breads. That looks good! 🙂 YUM!
Luv What You Do
That Lorde song is my FAVORITE! I need to look up her other songs. My confession is that my boyfriend and I are both sick our kitten has so much energy running laps around the house. We are so tired that he is driving us NUTS : )
kelly @ racesrepsramblings
AHHH Chipotle. 3 months. Wow. That’s rough. In other news – CONGRATS on your amazing fitness endeavors! Holy moly – Insanity and training for a half… you’re a beast. Can’t wait to hear how it goes 🙂
Melissa @ Al Forno Mementos
Insantiy hurts my knees. I wanna vlog … but I don’t know what to even say. I already don’t know what to say on my blog. haha other than food and food … I cannot picture the lorde girl singing .. her voice doesn’t match her face. is that mean? haha
annnnnnnd I wish I could run without remembering I was running.
Khushboo Thadani (@KhushbooThadani)
Wahoo for amazing runs :)! Kudos for starting Insanity! My sister did the program and loved it…I just couldn’t get on board with it (yeah yeah, I’m a wimp)! Not jealous at all about that Chipotle- I clearly didn’t get enough of the stuff when I was in London!
jessielovestorun
Aw, you said you gave the other breads away… you really didn’t have to mail them to me. Will be looking out for some 🙂 Ha Ha just kidding.
Elizabeth
My confession; I love your posts.
Choc Chip Uru
You know a vlogger? Brilliant 😀
And I love this song by Lorde! I RUN ALL THE TIME TO IT 🙂
Cheers

ahhh insanity! i hear the worst things at first – then the absolute best things. my co-worker is obsessed with it. it’s been so cool to see- she used to hate working out, bought insanity off amazon when she was drunk [ohhhhh amazon], only did it because she spent so much money buying it and didn’t want to return it, used to hate it and dread it, and now she’s just in love with it. it’s been a while since i’ve had chipotle. i’ll have to change that reallly soon.
Heather @Pinkaholic Fitness
I lovveee Chipolte!!!
Nicole @ FruitnFitness
Insanity and hm training sounds intense! I did insanity for a summer, actually the same summer I started running but was only running 1-3 mile a few times a week. I’m really looking forward to fall too! It’s my favorite season!

I wish my intestines felt SO FRESH & SO CLEAN. Mine feel like a sewer, or septic tank. LOL!!!!!
My “confession” – more like, COMPLAINT = WHY THE EFF ARE MY COMMENTS being considered SPAM EVERYWHERE!! I am going to bust a cap in whoever’s ass who considered me SPAM!!!!! MOFO! 😦
missymiller
Confession: I just caught up on all your posts since July 29… because CANNOT MISS ONE.
#friendlystalking
Ok so this Brittany meets Starbucks thing is flipping me out right now because I just keep thinking how you are bringing your Smoothie expertise to Starbucks and coming up with all these ideas (banana in the frapp instead of sugar!!). So I have this vision of like… customers starting to special request your drinks and then the word goes up to corporate and then they decide… the smoothie/health/protein-y market! Let’s Tap That!
And of course youd get flown in to consult and get maga dineros.
And youd have lots of money and you’d be like… dental-hy-whaaa??
And then you would use some of the money to come visit.
The end.
Brittany
Bahahahaaaaaahh thissss is why I adore you! I love your idea about Starbucks taking my inner genius and making use of it! I also am slowly but surely ALREADY getting to the “dental-hy-whaaaa??” phase of life and have been searching COMPLETELY NEW LIFE PATHS! SAY WHAT!? There will be zero talk about this on my blog though until things start flowing. For now everything is simply on the drawing board, which is further than I was a month ago!
Once I make the big $$$$$ I will be visiting you FOR SURE. On one condition..WE MUST GO TO DISNEYWORLD! I don’t care how far we have to drive…Bahaha.
theanniehall
YAY SO HAPPY TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE DOING WELL!
IMO an optimistic outlook really is the essence of happiness!
laurenlehocky
My confession: I just stumbled upon your blog and I love it!
Second confession: I would do anything for that Chipotle burrito. Their guac=heaven.
PNWRunner
Confession(s): I am too much of a whimp to do Insanity. The name just scares me. Insanity? WHAT?! Props to you girl!! 🙂 I haven’t been to Chipotle in years, I’ve only had it once. I am obsessed with Breaking Bad right now…I just cannot stop watching it at the gym.
Melissa @ Al Forno Mementos
PS I nominated you for Liebster Award! It’ll be up tomorrow.
Corrie Anne
My confession is that I can’t WAIT to be done with our gym’s nutrition challenge. Lol.
shashimcharles
Haha – too funny – but glad your intestines have been wrung out like a sponge…leaving you so fresh and clean!!!
Thats awesome you started Insanity! My sister in law got GREAT results from it! I am a TapOutXT/P90X fan currently.
Shashi @ http://runninsrilankan.com

Nice work with insanity and training girl! I just got off the plane and after reading this I confess, I’m going to need to go to chipotle ASAP…and bake that bread of yours!
Katy
I don’t think your customer was running too fast if she was able to text and run!!
I love spending rainy days in my apartment. I can’t wait until fall too. I’m getting sick of this heat!
Rebekah @ fitnesscreatures
I want to do Insanity too! I think Meghan and I will suck it up and buy it one of these days. I’ve tried a few videos and I love it. Glad you’re gettin’ it with all dat fitnessss. I love that your runs are going well. You’re hilarious and I love #7 – I’m all about the rain. My boyfriend makes fun of how much I love it, playing in it, running in it, just standing in it and looking up. Ahh, it’s the best. Also, I can’t wait for Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I consider them THE best part of fall.
P
Insanity sounds insane! Haha. Love that you are becoming such a speedster…9:00 miles!!!
theanniehall

Wow, Insanity is no joke. Good for you, and I can’t wait until you sign up for the Cleveland Half. It’ll be a blast, so go do that already, m’kay. I’ll even think about running with you.
My confession: I want to go to Seattle Hempfest. It sounds right up my alley, creepy characters and all. I’m a hippy at heart. Second confession: I am the regular of regulars and I love good, cleaned out intestines. It’s all those veggies.
