My trip to Arizona was a short but sweet ten days. I had a lot of fun with family, running, eating, and adventuring. I rode on a train, I ran on new streets, and I tasted my first Moscato. For the things I haven’t mentioned, here are some bullet points for easy viewing.
- I watched horses dance like people.
- I ate garden grown spinach the size of my hand.
- I ran 26 miles in unknown flat land. The best part about running in Arizona is the lack of hills. It felt like a vacation from running too.
- I tried new food.
- I ate at Pei Wei.
- I watched a new blogger blossom. My younger brother has started a blog, and I had a blast being around to watch him write a post.
- I had awesome family time.
I’ve been home for five days, and am missing the flat roads of Arizona. Running on hills is supposed to make you a better runner..right? It’s good to be home.
By the way, I have become completely engrossed by Instagram. I think the only bandwagon I just can’t get on is Twitter. At the rate I am going I will have a Twitter by the end of the year. Ugh.
Q: Do you have all the bells and whistles of social media? I just can’t do it..

dude do twitter. all i can say. I have instagram but barely use it, just not my thing. but twitter, oh my obsessed. i am so glad you had such a great time with family, vacations are the best when you can take them
Twitter is one of those things that is only interesting if you follow a bunch of people! Otherwise I can understand the lack of amusement. I’m glad you had such an awesome time.

Aww, I’m glad you had such a great time, friend!
Can’t wait to see what you post on instagram! I’ve been addicted for a while now. 🙂
I can’t get into Twitter either. I rarely ever tweet, but do have it linked to my blog’s Facebook page. It seems like most people (with websites) that tweet link it to their FB, and also link their Instagram to FB and Twitter, so it all connects. I enjoy Instagram a lot! I don’t think I’ll ever get into Twitter though.
I think if I had instagram, i’d be hoooooked! I don’t have much at all – social media wise. But, twitter would probably be the veeery last thing I join I think!
Twitter overwhelms me. Just looking at it. IG…well I don’t have exciting or pretty things to take pictures of! I want to do both because other people seem in love with them! That spinach is so amazing! I’m glad you had a good visit and safe travels. Coming home to your love is the best though, isn’t it?
Welcome home! I just started following you on Instagram! Yay! And you sound just like me- I’ve sworn off Twitter for so long because I just can’t deal, but now I’m considering taking the plunge because my friend told me that Jason Bateman has a twitter page and she follows him and apparently he’s hilarious. That’s a hard thing to look away from, but then again, it seems like a giant pain in the butt. We’ll see. 🙂 Glad you had a great trip!
Welcome back, glad to hear there is another blogger in the world. The more the merrier!

Haha Instagram and twitter I’m keeping clear off 😛
Sounds like you had a brilliant time!

I LOVE Pei Wei, but haven’t eaten it in years. I need to get with it and get myself some ASAP! 😉
Instagram is actually the only one I’m not in on yet! I don’t really see the point especially since it’s a pain to use with twitter these days. I’m glad you had such a fabulous vacation!
That’s so nice that your brother started his own blog. When my sister started hers (but it’s now dormant…) she used the same blog theme! 😛
pei wei is where i go to get my asian-fix ! love it… and no worries i am not into twitter either
Rebecca @ Blueberry Smiles
that spinach looks sooo much better than store-bought! i need to grow my own!
do twitter. I’m glad youre on instagram though so now I can’t be too picky about your other social media uses. 🙂 I’m glad you had a fantastic time in Arizona. Those sound like 26 blissful miles. We have a ton of hills here too and I’m always like…. nooooo. It’s those slow gradual incline hills that get you!
Amanda @ .running with spoons.
Oh gosh… social media is the bane of my existence. I keep meaning to become more proficient at it, but any time I try, the vastness of it just overwhelms me. I love Instagram, but Facebook and Twitter? Just can’t keep up.
I used to think Twitter was so stupid but then I started following bloggers and athletes and people who inspired me and now I’m hooked. It also just landed me a gift package of 4 protein shakes and 6 protein bars just from tweeting! Not a bad bandwagon to be on if you ask me.
I must follow you on Instagram now 🙂
Those noodles look sooooo GOOD! And I am a sucker for social media 🙂 Although, I admit I don’t know everything- there is so much to learn!
The Savvy Sister
I’ve hired my daughter to do that ugly task for me. I’m clueless
Welcome back homeee!! And I love that you have instagram. I love instagram. Aka, I am obsessed with it and instagram everything.. its bad. I need to stop. 😀 have fun! Can’t wait to see all your pics!
All this social media is making me feel old 😉 I mean I have a blog, I wrap my head around facebook, I have twitter linked to my blog and now I need to think about instagram…. pinning….printeresting – phew. Maybe I will return to pigeon post 😉
I’m so jealous of your spinach!:) And your Pei Wei dinner sounds so good!

Glad you had a fun trip!
Luv What You Do
Looks like a fun trip!
I am WAY behind…no twitter, facebook, pinterest, etc. Just blogging right now!
I was actually just wondering how you were doing. Twitter is actually my favorite of any social media platform and I use it a lot more to communicate with people then blogging, facebook, even instagram. Though instagram is def a close second.

So glad you had a wonderful trip, Brittany! You did tons of fun things and it all makes me want to go spend some time w/ my folks.
Sounds like you had a fab trip, Britt- woo! If you’re going to get addicted to one social media outlet, Instagram is the way forward :)! Besides that I love Twitter & Facebook. As for Pinterest, that’s one outlet which I haven’t sold out to yet, and don’t plan to either!
Glad you had such a great time visiting home!!!
A Tablespoon of Liz
Sounds like you had a lot of fun! It’s funny that you say twitter is the only wagon you can’t jump on now, but you love instagram. I’m the exact opposite! But, I’ll probably end up getting one sooner or later, haha.
Wow your bro started a blog?! Gotta read! I’m gonna go read it after I finish this comment! That huge spinach looks GLORIOUS and so does the Pei Wei food. I have to say, Moscato and I aren’t friends. It’s just way too sweet for me! I’m glad you enjoyed your runs! Runs in places you aren’t used to are definitely a wonderful escape. Instagram is DA BOMB but I resisted it for so long. I bet you will eventually get on Twitter…and love it 😉 no pressure tho!
Angela @ Health's Angel
Garden grown spinach sounds incredible to me. Maybe one day I’ll have a fancy veggie garden and can grow some on my own!
I’m notoriously terrible with social media, and technology in general. I only use Twitter and Pinterest and I don’t go crazy with them. I don’t get the appeal of Instagram…and I deleted my Facebook over a year ago and have never looked back. I like using my phone to talk to people. 🙂
Brittany @ DulceVie
Sounds like a lot of fun!! I love using social media… except for facebook. Weird right? Well… I use it but I don’t care about it that much. I only go on facebook to upload pics so that my fam will stop bothering me to put them up lol. I do like twitter though 🙂
I am the SAME way with Twitter. I tried to get into it but I just could not do it lol. I guess I’m just not a tweet-person. womp womp. I think I like Instagram because you can mmake anything look cool with the filters haha.
I have a twitter account, but never use it….. I’m not a huge fan of ANY social media, but some you just gotta have to stay up with it all, right? Argh.
What is that delightful little meal under ‘new food’?? Also I would be so ridiculously excited about that spinach… I’m such a food dork!
For everyone’s information, there are no hills in arizona…. only mountains and vallys. Last time britt came she tried running up the mountain next to our house and had a rather unpleasent encounter with a cactus. She has not gone on the mountain since.
That darn cactus. I still have the photo of it stuck in my shoe. We will go back up the mountain next time I’m there. This time I will wear tennis shoes, not the toe shoes.
Oh my gosh, I have an all black cat too. I think we may be brothers from another mother.
I haven’t gotten involved in any other form of social media other than the blog and Pinterest, which is really just recipe storage and dirty jokes for me. I actually have an entire life outside my blog and I’m afraid Twitter and Instagram would derail it. As it is, I spend entirely too much time in front of computer screens. So I haven’t made the big leap yet and I’m not sure I really want to either. Does that make me a bad blogger?
Kelly @ Femme Fitale
Just came across your blog! Love!
As for twitter, I have it but feel like I’m pretending to be a celebrity or something. It’s super awkward hahah
