Time out, how is it already October 20th!? YOWZA.
Like many other souls on this earth, fall happens to be my favorite time of the year. I adore the pumpkins, the apples, the kiwis (did you know it’s kiwi season, because the kiwis are BANGING right now), and the cinnamon. All the cinnamon.
But seriously.
Ah yes, I adore fall grown foods, but I also love the activities that come with fall. Pumpkin PATCH, apple ORCHARD, kiwi…picking up at the store, and cinnamon grinding. I had an epic adventure to an apple orchard/corn maze while in Ohio, but I haven’t done a single fall themed activity since and the months are slipping by.
That’s where she comes in. This is Hannah, one of my adorable blog friends over at House Vegan. Hannah and I connected over delicious vegan foods and we share a love for all things fall. Including Disneyland at Halloween.
Hannah wrote a very clever eBook titled Fall FoMo No More which stands for “fall fear of missing out.” Genius. In her book she gives tips, tricks, and shares delicious fall themed recipes in an attempt to help YOU avoid missing out.
I am 2/3 of the way into October NEEDING her book to help me prioritize my fall activities. What’s doable, what’s not, write it down, cross things off, make it HAPPEN!
You don’t have to be a vegan to enjoy the recipes shared in this book, in fact one of my favorites wasn’t even edible.
Frozen shower melts..are you serious? Sold.
Of course there are indeed plenty of edible treats too, my favorite being the salted ginger chocolate chip cookies. I’ll take them all please.
Or the chili con cashew queso. Straw not included.
Long story short: this book is adorable, it’s cheap, and it gave me warm and fuzzy feelings. You can buy a copy for less than the price of a Taco Bell combo meal (ew) click here, BUTTT you can also enter to WIN A FREE copy simply by leaving a comment on this post telling me your favorite fall activity.
If you don’t like fall, well then I’m not sure how we’re friends. It must be because you love coffee, cats, or the great outdoors, and for that I can let it slide. As for the rest of you, share your favorites!
Q: Favorite fall activity!?

Musings
Sipping hot apple cider – either outside in the woods or inside by the fire 🙂
Musings
Also buying scarves until my closet is bursting…if that can be considered an “activity.”

When I lived in Japan, my favourite fall activity was drinking Autumn beer–yes, beer breweries put out special fall beers. They were richer and creamier than the summer counterparts.
These days, in Canada, I admire the foliage, think about how summer went and start stocking up on the hot chocolate for winter.
Your post gives me pause to think
Anthony
I hit send trying to go back and edit–I also enjoyed turkey and pumpkin pie as thanks giving was a short time ago.
Back to the pause to think. I really should do some more fall oriented things other than just raking or mulching leaves.

I think I might need to buy this book. It sounds incredible! My favorite fall activity…knitting! I usually knit from fall until summer, and then I put my knitting needles away. Though, I have yet to pick them up again this year…I better get on that!

Favourite fall activity will ALWAYS BE RUNNING but right now I am in an off season so I am headed out on gorgeous hikes. I LOVE the colours.

My Fall activities revolve around when I can drink coffee and when I can get a refill. Loooooove warming up with a few cups all day long :)))

Love fall hikes when the trees have all turned colours…and apple picking!
Hannah
Aaah! Such a wonderfully warm review! Thank you so much, Brittany :)! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the book, and that it’s contributing nicely to your fall. Kiwis and all!!

This is great! Finally a book that gets me 🙂 It’s really hard to pick just one favourite thing about autumn but with the perfect dry autumn weather we’ve been having, I’d have to go for the leaves… all the colourful leaves in the trees, on the ground, swirling about me as I’m out running, piles of them, raking them up, the crisp sound of them everywhere at the moment. Yep. Love em all.

This looks like such a fun book! Summer will always be my favorite, but there are lots of good things about fall as well! 🙂

I love House Vegan! Just made her pumpkin oatmeal cookie sandwiches, yum! My favorite fall activity is going to the same pumpkin patch I went to as a kid. I can have the fresh apple cider as my boyfriend and I take the hayride to the pumpkin patch. We pick out our pumpkin and bring it home to carve. It reminds me of the carefree falls of childhood and nothing ruins the pumpkin patch trip!

so fun! i’ll have to check her out and follow her blog. fave fall activity: running outsideee. and all things apple.
specialkkluthe
My favorite fall activity is running but I also love a good corn maze and the sound of crunching leaves – just not raking them. 😉
Meghan@CleanEatsFastFeets
My favorite fall activity next to lounging by the fire and stomping on crackly leaves is eating caramel apples, of which I’ve still had none!! I need to rectify this stat.
Ellie
My favorite fall activity is probably snuggling. I love to snuggle 🙂 I hope I win this book! If not, I’ll end up buying it anyway ahaha

Oh Britt, you’re awesome! I loooove having fall bonfires while drinking cinnamon tea and eating baked apples. Yepppp. So good.
Jillian
My favorite fall activity is absolutely hitting up the farmer’s market for the best local apples and crafting them into every imaginable baked good I can come up with!
Luv What You Do
OMG! That is such a hard question. I love them all! Anything outdoors I think..the pumpkin patch : )
Leslie @ TriathleteTreats
That cashew queso looks delicious!! I love going to the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins in the fall!!

My favourite activity would be one of two things:
1) enjoy the last couple of semi-warm and sunny days and making the most of them by going for a walk (marvelling at the fact that I’m not shivering with cold yet)
2) curse the weather for being too damn depressing and curl up on the sofa with a cup (or a pot, why go small?) of hot tea and a book.
Diane @ Life of Di.
Fall is the best (though I do love winter, too!) I absolutely love going on walks this time of year. I also love to enjoy a delicious stew/chili!
PS – I’m all about the cinnamon, too. My mom tells me I’m going to accidentally overdose when she sees the amount of cinnamon I put on my sweet potato! Ha. Please, mother…

I just laughed when I read the cinnamon cartoon. i try to enjoy all the seasons! i love apple picking too

Hannah is a-dor-able and her book looks like pure fun/genius! I’m not one for holidays, but I really do try and slow normal life things down during fall because it’s just so beautiful and fleeting and it means that short and cold days are coming. So, my favorite fall activity is walking through the fields, scuffling up the leaves, noticing the different, subtle colors in the trees and grass, noting the birds that are leaving (scissortails) and those that are returning (ducks), sniffing in the wonderful air – things like that. Oh, and hot chocolate.
Miss Polkadot
Not necessarily a fall-only activity but especially beautiful then hikes in the woods. Or long walks on pathes covered in leaves. Autumn leaves – honestly one of the prettiest part of the season.
We don’t have pumpkin patches to go and pick your own which I think is entirely unfair as that would be high up on my fall to-do list.
Jane
Lovely review, Brittany! I want to write a nice food book so you can review it for me! 😉 I love the colours and traditions of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. Brisbane is subtropical so apart from a few introduced tree species, the trees don’t really change here. 🙂
Heather @ HeatherRunsFast.com
What a great idea for a book! And October may be almost over, but fall lasts in late November if you ask me… so you have plenty of time to take it all in 🙂 Not sure what my fave fall activity is. Wish we had apple orchards or real pumpkin patches. I guess I’d say finding all the places that serve pumpkin stuff: sweets, coffee, soup, breads, curries, pastas, etc.
Dannii @ Hungry Healthy Happy
My favourite autumn activity has to be going for a walk and going out of my way to stand on the really crispy leaves. I love it!
Kat
Now that I am FINALLY in a city where fall actually exists, Im so in love with it. Friday night football games wrapped in a scarf cheering on my baby bro, decorating with my baby sis, and sitting on my back patio in the early morning enjoying the crisp air and subtle smell of firewood burning. LURVE it. Seriously.
Not even kidding – I swept up the leaves in my backyard then threw my baby sister into the pile. It was awesome 🙂
Tania // Run to Radiance
That queso looks amazing!! I’m impressed. My favorite fall activity is walking to the coffee shop with my husband and drinking coffee while we walk around our neighborhood. 🙂
Jess @hellotofit
My favorite fall activity is some sort of festival (e.g. beer, etc.). Maybe some apple picking/apple pie baking!
The Vegan 8
I want buns of cinnamon too, LOL! As usual, your food pics are killing me! I love, love Fall and I live in Texas where it’s still hot as &*#(!! We haven’t had AC in 2 weeks and everyday I’ve been sweating like a fool, so I’m REALLY ready for Fall and cold weather!
Nicola
You make fall sound like such fun. Perhaps its better than autumn. Perhaps I’d love it to if i had red and yellow leaves to jump through and Halloween to celebrate. Enjoy it!
Josh dV
Fall is my favorite time of year as well and the fall in New Mexico cannot be beat. The air is cool and crisp but still warm and not hot. Makes for superb running weather, which is my favorite fall activity.
Once again amazing photos and you made me hungry.

I would say, apple picking. I have done it ever since I was little. I brought my kids when they were little and hope they have fond memories of it now that they are (almost) adults. The great thing about apple picking is it takes no time at all. An hour and you are done – with apples for months to come. – Kat

Going to check out the Fall FoMo now!
