Posted at 7:12 AM by Brittany, on June 11, 2013

This past weekend I went to my first baseball game of the season.

    20130609-205114

Before finding my seat, I made sure to first find the moose.

I have laser eyes, and I forgot to take my backpack off.

I have laser eyes, and I forgot to take my backpack off. Don’t stare into my eyes or I will steal your soul..and your cookie.

Nothing makes me feel more like a child than getting a photo with a sweaty mascot. I felt his sweat through the suit…gross. When I think baseball, I think hot dogs. I’ve never been a fan of hot dogs, but the vegan hot dogs made by Field Roast I DO happen to like! Lucky for me this baseball stadium sells them! I get to fit in with the crowd!

I was asked multiple times if I had vodka in my camel back. Uh no..I carry water, carrots and peanut butter and jellies..no vodka drunk kids.

I was asked multiple times if I had vodka in my camelbak. Uh no..I have water, carrots, figs, and peanut butter and jellies..no vodka.

I like a lot of mustard...

    I like a lot of mustard…

I think I finished this hot dog in a matter of seconds. After watching the Mariners loose, my date and I headed into the heart of Seattle for the remainder of the day. The game was at 1:10PM, which meant we still had time to walk around afterwards!

    20130609-205153

I found some blue trees. I want blue trees in my backyard. Then I can dress up like an Avatar creature and do a dance around the swaying branches. I felt inclined to include the blue trees in this post. After walking it was time for dinner..shocker..I needed more food.

My hot date..she had no idea I was creeping her photo.

My hot date..she had no idea I was creeping her photo.

A whole loaf of bread, and a plate full of spaghetti and broccoli later I was ready to be rolled home. After my day of eats it’s no wonder my pants feel snug. If anyone has P90X that I can borrow it would be greatly appreciated, I need to build some muscle!

Eating my weight in carbs did give me the opportunity to run my fastest 5K to date the next morning. I’ll take it!

    20130609-205623

One day I’ll catch that road runner.

Q: Do you like going to sporting events? I do I doooo. I don’t watch sports on TV, but the atmosphere at live games are so much fun.

How cool that your local stadium sells vegan hot dogs. That’s amazing.

I love going to sporting events! I end up “people watching” more than game watching, though haha.

      No vodka? What?

I like going to some games. But baseball moves pretty slowly. Half way through I’m done. Translation: After I’ve gotten my cotton candy and the sugar high has passed, I’m ready to go.

I love going to sporting events, even if the team loses, the atmosphere and fun food and beer is always a good time! Your pic with the sweaty mascot looks cute…too bad he was so hot and gross. Also your vegan hot dog totally fits in and looks like a normal one. I eat my hot dog the exact same way, lots of mustard and white onion, great minds 😉

Vegan hotdogs at the stadium? The Pacific northwest is so rad!

Um…hate to be a hater, but I think baseball is SO BORING. zomg, kill me. It’s a bunch of dudes standing and then one guy runs for, like, a second.

Also, I once dressed up in a mascot suit (Clifford the Big Red Dog, ha!) and it was SO FUCKING HOT. I’m sorry to swear, but oh.my.gosh. I couldn’t believe how much I sweated. I don’t think I actually sweat through the suit though, holy moly!

      Awesome run! A spaghetti-fueled victory!

No no..I think baseball is boring too..I lasted maybe 20minutes watching the game and then moved onto people watching and walking around. That’s why I like the stadiums..haha so much to distract me.

Ok next time I am bringing vodka. One guy came so close to me I think he would have tried to drink out of MY mouthpiece!! BACK UP BRO I do NOT know you and NO I HAVE NO VODKA for you! Drunks…

I GUESS I AM NOT AMERICAN BECAUSE I HATE BASEBALL….. It’s a 4 hours boring ass game where you sit in the hot sun. The men playing aren’t even hot, they’re all kinda chunky, eating peanuts and cracker jacks and chewing on tobacco. Raunch factor.

FOR A HALF A SECOND…. I THOUGHT YOU WERE EATING A REAL HOT DOG and I was like OH SH** SON… Britt cheats at sporting events!!! But really, with a pork hot dog, GROSS! I was actually relieved that it was vegan! LOL!

Did you catch a home run ball?!?!

NO NO I am so with you..the men are not hot, I don’t consider baseball that great of a workout (I know some will argue, but they are ALL chunky!) and I get bored SO quick. I DO love going to games though, the people watching and beer garden suck me in! I don’t drink beer really though, so..I just watch the drunks hahaha.

NEVER would I cheat with a pork hot dog EWWWW!! I would cheat with something like milk chocolate poured all over a soccer player..THEY have hot bods. MMMMM. No homeballs for me.

While I don’t necessarily share your love of baseball (I’m Canadian… we’re hockey people), I’m a big fan of going to sporting games. There’s something so infectious about the energy of the crowd, and it’s hard not to get caught up in all of the excitement. Games on TV? No… but coming home without a voice after cheering on my boys? Definitely 😀

You are brave to walk around with your backpack…. I generally take mine off and then forget it whenever I have one. Fail.

I want to frolic in the park with blue trees. Live sport events are the bestttttttt….. when you visit, we should watch Pirate play hockey with his fellow gray-hair/bald teammates. It is a lot of fun but brutal. Blood. Punches. Pirate yelling.

So I’m not too surprised they have vegan dogs! (And I’d use just as much mustard as you, especially if it’s spicy or Dijon — they’re my favorite!)

And, uhh… I’m not too sorry Seattle lost. See, I kind of need them (and everyone else) in the AL West to keep losing so my A’s can win the division again! 😉

I love watching sports live. The last time I went to a baseball game was a long time ago. I love the atmosphere. 🙂 And I will look for vegan hotdogs the next time I go. 🙂

I LOVE baseball! My brother has played since he was 2, so I’ve been to hundreds of professional and amateur games! I love all the food, family, fun, and atmosphere!

Oh mannnnn!!! ahhhh, I absolutely love love love baseball. LIVE baseball that is. And thats because of the atmosphere, food, crowds, etc. So many great memories at Safeco, amazing that they have vegan hot dogs! hahah I find it hilarious that you were asked what was in your camelbak…sometimes people ask me (while I’m in running gear) walking down the street if I have a lighter.. all I wanna say is “Do I look like someone who has a lighter?! COME ONNNN”

I just at an entire bag of popcorn Indiana chips, no wonder my pants are also getting too tight! Oh well, they were good!

Ooooh fun! Baseball isn’t my favorite in general, but I do enjoy going to the games just for the experience. I’ve wondered about vegan hot dogs. Good to know that there are some good options! 🙂

We have a place here called The Spaghetti Warehouse and it is amazing! Your Old Spaghetti Factory reminded me of that. 🙂

When I went to America the first thing on my list was to go to a baseball game! I never got a picture of me with a sweaty mascot though. 😦 Well done on the new super speedy 5K! 🙂

You crack me up Ms Avatar Vodka Lady. I do like going to live sporting events although I rarely pay any attention to the actual game going on. Oops.
Tell me more about these vegan hot dogs…are they like the real thing? If I have a hotdog craving, will they satisfy it?

So here is the deal with these hotdogs. They are great, the only problem is that I CANNOT FIND THEM ANYWHERE! I buy their specialty “sausage” like products..but NEVER see the hotdog kind. I do prefer the Apple Sage “sausage” more, but STILL!!! SO with that said, if you want to try this YES they are worth it, but I hope you can find it!!

        Here’s what they are.. http://www.fieldroast.com/products/retail/frankfurter/

Like you I MUCH prefer to GO to games. TV doesn’t do it for me…unless it is the Olympics or if any of my beloved Boston teams are in the championship game!

I’m with ya–TV sports don’t hold my interest for even five minutes, but live is just plain fun! And oh my gosh, I love your mustard-to-hot dog ratio. THAT is how hot dogs are meant to be enjoyed ;D

Vegan hot dogs served at a baseball stadium?! Lucky you ;)! I would watch a baseball game if I could buy a vegan hot dog in the stands!

And those trees are seriously awesome! Are you sure you didn’t use any Photoshop skills ;)?

I love watching sports, but only in person. That whole tv thing makes it lose its appeal 🙂
