    Iphone 584

I have finally earned my big girl pants and went wine tasting.

    Iphone 570

I then took the big girl pants off because I made a stink face after every sip. I do not like wine. Between my dad, my step-mom and I we made enough wine waste to fill an entire glass. Finally when I thought it was too late for any hope, I found one that I liked.

    Iphone 571

This Moscato tasted like juice. It was no surprise I liked the dessert wine, I am 12 years old at heart. Drink enough wine and the windows in the bathroom start to glow.

    Iphone 566

After the tasting it was time to tour the land. No grapes on the vines because it’s winter. That just means I need to go back when it’s harvest time.

    Iphone 575

This vineyard was beautiful, and the mountains on the horizon made this a place I would love to wake up and drink my morning coffee, or a bottle of wine (Moscato please.)

    Iphone 583

Better yet, just put me in the production room and I’ll stick my head under the nozzles used to fill the bottles.

    Iphone 582

In all seriousness this place was not only gorgeous, but it was very tranquil. Tucked into the hillsides of Sedona without knowing it was there, you would never find it. I think I could pretend to be a wino if it meant spending my afternoons here.

    Iphone 585

Q: Have you ever gone wine tasting, or toured a vineyard?

I don’t think you could sip the wine if you stuck your head under the nozzle like that…may need a better way to pace yourself 😉 Just saying is all….

You are too funny! I love doing wine tours, the only problem doing them here is having a driver! I can handle maybe 2 wineries before I start to get a little funny and want to opt out of driving. I am abstaining from booze this month and am actually shocked how much I don’t miss it! Normally I drink wine a few times a week!

I am THRILLED you earned your big girl pants!!! I will NEVER earn mine, I will always wear training pants… Because I cannot taste the difference between wine and I actually HATE WINE!!! My whole family = OBSESSED with wine and then there is me… Miss I cannot taste it so don’t even bother asking me if I want it! AHH HA HA HA! My father always does forget this though and tries to offer it up to me. Don’t waste $$ on my palette, it’s a POS!!!!

PS: I like to eat my calories, not drink them! LOL!!!! But if you asked me to go wine tasting, I would go with you, watch you get sloshed and then be your DD!!!!

No no no I am 100% with you, ESPECIALLY on the part where you said you like to eat your calories, not drink them!! I actually get worked up at the thought. I only partook in this tasting because the amount they poured would have been safe for even a baby!! It was barely anything HA! I didn’t taste a difference other than one tasting more like dog poo than the others. Not for me, BUT it was fun and now I can say I did it. HA!

I do think that going and having you as my DD would be a blast. BAHA, I will hold you to that!

The only time I visited a winery, it was for a “grown-up” birthday party when I was 8. I ate lots of cheese and crackers, and I ran around on the front lawn in my best shimmery pink dress. (But I wanted to run up and down the rows of trellises instead.) At least I could appreciate the grapes!

Moscato FTW, every time! I love wine tasting, this looks like a fun place. I have been to Napa Valley twice, the Leelanau Peninsula in Michigan, and we lived in Oregon’s Willamette Valley over the summer and went a couple of times. You are having such a great time right now, can I come too?? 🙂

I’m a huge wine lover but it was definitely an acquired taste. Now i can’t seem to get enough (and oddly enough, I started with white and switched to red. I no longer can drink white -too sweet! Weird how your taste buds change over time.) Looks like you had a wonderful time! And it looks SO beautiful there!

Wine tasting is one of my favourite things to do. I believe that the first time I went to the vineyard I was two because my family has one in Hungary. I love Reisling as Meghan said — and any white. I’m not a red wine drinker. My parents love wine so I think I grew up loving it.

I don’t actually mind the taste of wine, but I’ll probably never, ever earn my big girl pants… I’ll probably be wearing yoga pants for my whole life 😛 I’ve never been wine tasting before, nor can I tell the difference between a good wine and a bad wine, aside from whether I like it or not. Age, aroma, depth… none of that means much of anything to me. It would be awesome to learn about that kind of stuff, but I don’t even think we have any vineyards in our area…

I have been to a wine tasting before and like you, didn’t like a lot of them. As I was reading your post I was thinking, “Oh no! She needs to try a Moscato before she says she doesn’t like wine!” And sure enough, you like it 🙂 Also, something I have found as I have tried more and more wine is that you should try different brands of the same type of wine before saying you don’t like it. There are some Moscatos that I make faces at and don’t enjoy. My favorite one is Seven Daughters right now.
