Posted at 12:31 PM by Brittany, on August 29, 2012

I never blogged about my last three long runs on my half marathon training schedule. I blogged about my 7miler, which still holds the title of best run I’ve ever had. The 8miler I had scheduled for the next week was tough. Mentally I was out of it, and the run was painful. I won’t elaborate much more than that, but I can assure you I looked something like this.

The 9 miler was better. I stopped worrying about my pace, and just let myself run. My time was a lot slower than my 7miler, but I finished without a struggle. The only complain I had was during the last mile. My knees started to bother me, but I can thank my 9hr work day for that. I looked more like this.

    Slow and steady.

This what I would look like as an animation, with a cauliflower arm.

The 10miler I ran this past Sunday was the final long run before the half. I was worried. I have never hit the double digits and although it was only one mile further than the week before, I was nervous. Mentally I was psyching myself out. Finally I just went for it, and I felt great the entire run. EVEN with the ridiculous hills. Almost an entire 5miles of the run were uphill..ugh. It was a slower pace still, but I felt like THIS..

Yea I was pretty much flying. I did it, I ran 10miles without stopping.

This Sunday is the big day, I am running my first half marathon and I couldn’t be more excited. Be ready for some California based posts for the next few days! California here I come!

Q: Tell me something exciting you have recently accomplished!! It doesn’t have to be fitness related, tell me anything!

When I was training for my half, my knees/legs started to kill me around mile 8. Every. Single. Time. Mile 8-10 was always killer, but the last few miles somehow were awesome because I knew I was almost done. You are going to rock this. I’m so excited for you!

wow that was quick.  Be careful with the knee britt.  If it starts to hurt, rest it.  they believe anymore to push thru the pain.  You don’t want to have a total knee in your 30s.  When you run like that you are chipping your bone little by little.  I want to tell you about this place in Seattle where they watch you run and then suggest the best shoe for you when you get back.  I want to go get a pair too.

      have fun.  Love you.

Glad all your long runs are done and feeling good is always the best. I love the photos though, they just bring warmth to my heart.

I actually just accomplished running some sub 7 minute miles on the hills near my new life. It was certainly rewarding!

I’m guessing the phrase “Break a Leg” isn’t the most appropriate right now haha! Between all your hard work, training & adrenalin on the day, you are going to crush the half marathon! Can’t wait to read about it…and your Cali recaps :)!!

I am happy to hear about your progress. My most recent achievement is shaving 1 minute off of my 1-mile run from 10:17 to 9:07 in just 4 weeks of boot camp!

Or did you look something like my monkey? Perhaps you’ll need to wait until the leaves begin to fall for that complete effect. 😉 What did I recently accomplish? Negotiating my 100th contract for my new business! Yay!

YOU TWO ARE SO DANG CUTE!!! Omgee, I am so very excited for you! You will kick buttocks. Question- why is there a purple animal humping manfriend’s arm? This creature does not seem to be bothering either of you…. so maybe it is your adopted pet. IS it going to CA with you? I’m actually leaving next week to go to CALIFORNIA too!!! With Mr. Speedy to visit his best friend, best friend’s wife, and their tiny little chubby cute baby. I hope it spits up all over me while we are at the beach. Kidding.

IM SO EXCITED THAT YOU HAVE BEEN RUNNING SO WELL!!! You look darn sexy and healthy and that equals happy happy smiley Lily.
