  • Carrots & Goats

Posted at 12:28 PM by Brittany, on July 5, 2012

It’s time for another garden update. I have posted about my onions, my swiss chard, and now it’s time to show you my carrots.

The beets and carrots both needed to be thinned out again. The carrots that were thinned are shown above. I salvaged the bigger ones, and gave the runt carrots to the neighbors goats.

Who needs a compost bin when you can have goats!? New life goal: not only do I want a flock of chickens, (is this what they’re called? a flock..a herd..a bundle?) but I must own two goats. Not one, not three..but two. I can feed them my leftover food, and train my cats to ride them like horses. The carrots were stored in a mason jar for a day, and then they were turned into a delicious meal.

    My most favoritest bowl

There on the left..are my precious baby carrots from my garden! Along with an onion from my garden, fried purple potatoes, butternut squash, roma tomatoes, all surrounding tricolor quinoa. This meal was perfect.

I’ll take that back in three minutes, but right now, you are totally living an adorable vegan fairytale; and I love reading about it! And the carrots are prettier than little miss muffet. This entire post just made me so happy. Mwah! 😀 xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

I hate strained muscles! I tend to just lay off the ones that are pull[ed]. Once, I pulled my hamstring muscle which hurt so I did a lot of just back and arm type workouts for a while until it got better. 🙂
      Hope you back heals up!!

I am jealous you live so close to people that have goats! According to Cold Mountain (both book and movie) you only need a goat to live! They provide companionship, milk, and meat if needed… love that book 🙂
Great job on the garden too!

Those vegetables look absolutely delicious! I seem to strain my muscles a lot, which I think is because I’m not strong enough. I’m constantly straining my hip muscles it seems like. I hope your back gets better!!

You and your Manfriend are SO cute together- he definitely sounds like a keeper! Hope your back is completely back to normal…nothing like an injury to set you back from meeting your goals! I pulled a shin muscle in December and it took a little over a month to recover which meant no running (much to my dismay)! My only advice: listen to your body….a few days off won’t make a difference to your fitness levels/training at all! Have a great weekend, Britt!

Okay, first I thought the pic of the baby tiny goat like creatures was super cute…. but then I saw the pic of you and your man and was like OMGEEE CUTE NESS OVERLOAD. I love it. Please let that back heal…. and be careful at work. No more straining lumbar spiney things. You need to run disneyland like a champ and then tell me all about it.

After his marathon, Mr. Speedy didn’t strain anything but had a MASSIVE BLISTER that took up the majority of the bottom of his foot and he had to peel all the skin off like an onion. It was mega gross. He is okay now. His foot is only slightly funky looking and troll like.

I want some carrots now rawrrrrrr. And I appove your 2 goat dream. If the cats ride them like horses I just might pet them (the cats, not the goats)
