…when you shop where you work? When you work at TJ’s it is!! Yesterday was the first time I shopped at the TJ’s I work at. We’ve been open for over a week, and I still hadn’t shopped. I had a day off, so I leisurely ran errands and then got some food.
There were definitely more items purchased, but these were the few things that were calling my name for a month straight. I finally got around to buying them. I do in fact have a fridge full of fruit and veggies despite what these pictures might portray. Those wasabi almonds and Joe-Joe’s are already my new obsessions.
As I was heading out the door to start my errands I saw this.
My cat has a man made..or in this case cat made cubby hole in the bushes. I almost didn’t see him, but I am so glad I did. When I kneeled to take a picture he ran to me. I gave him a pat on the head and got into my car. I turned to look back and he had changed locations to leaning against the tree stump in front of the cubby hole.
I have a terrible obsession with gum. Not just any gum, but the gum that is sweetened with artificial additives like sucralose or aspartame. I have tried giving them up and going for all natural gums, but I haven’t found any that I like. Yesterday I went for some gum, and I was OUT!
All three were empty..even the natural Breath-Rx in the middle. On my Walmart run I made sure to grab another Mento’s pack of gum. The stars have been realigned. As I left the parking lot I noticed a lady holding a homeless sign. She had the sweetest looking dog with her and it broke my heart. I only had $1 on me, but she was still so thankful for anything I had to offer. I felt warm inside for a good 15min after I spoke with her.
I had one of the laziest days I have experienced in weeks yesterday, and I am so OK with that. I hung out with this guy pretty much all night.
I try to tell myself my small stache beats his masculine beard..but in reality his beard really is quite nice. Yes..my cat’s name is Little..I can confidently say it is probably a one of a kind pet name. No “Jakes”, “Max’s”, or “Mitten’s” in my house.
Alright, I’m back to my 5am weekday shifts today. Then it’s home to clean the chocolate I just discovered stuck to my camera. Ohh the life of a food blogger. Have a tantalizing Tuesday.

Bahaha bush kitty cave. That made me LOL. Apples are something I musttt have in my house too! Although, I don’t eat 2 a day..and don’t turn into a troll. If I don’t have broccoli I turn into a raptor though..does that count? We could be creatures together on the island of misfit toys.

Looks like you bought some awesome stuff! I wish we had a TJs around us. I love your cat’s hiding cove and how cubby he is. It’s probably the cutest/most badass thing I’ve seen all morning. I can’t say day because it’s literally only 8:30 here.
I can never leave the grocery store without cereal. I always walk down the cereal isle to make sure I’m not missing any killer deals

Oh girl…I am with you on the gum obsession. Now that I work at a food store though, I can’t chew it during the day, so I’m naturally weaning myself off of it. [For now.]
And I have yet to make any radical purchases at my new job, but let me tell you…working in the foodie wonderland that is my store makes me feel the same way most girls would feel working in a clothing store…I’m terrified that every penny I make will just end up back in the cash register as I tote home entirely unnecessary purchases, like truffle oil or umami paste.
What can I say? Some girls buy shoes. I buy condiments.

Ohh I would die if I couldn’t chew gum at work. I am pretty good at stashing it in my cheek when I have to talk to people. I am the EXACT.same.way. about the food/clothes thing. I was just talking about this today with a customer, I hardly buy clothes anymore..because a. I am lazy and b. I’d rather buy broccoli and chocolate.

I have a lot of staples that I buy every week – apples, lettuce, baby carrots, oranges, avocados and hummus. If I don’t have those in the house I tend to freak out and hate everything I’m eating. Haha.

I am so very grateful for the treats they open at work and set in the back for us to eat/sample. Makes my day that much better. I am the creep in the corner enjoying the peanut filled pretzels wayyy too much.
I am with you on the hating everything you eat..if I don’t have my veggies to go with my pasta..it’s all down hill from there!

Ha, I don’t like gum, but I still eat sugar free stuff, like fake maple syrup and the syrups for my lattes. A little won’t hurt, and life is too short to worry about stuff like that!

You picked up some good food! The Joe-Joe’s sound so good right now. I used to be addicted to gum too, but only when I was running. It started to make my stomach feel weird though, so I stopped.
