When I was in elementary school, birthday celebrations were almost more exciting than meeting Santa. Kids would bring treats to class, and the last 15minutes were reserved for an in class party. These days birthdays seem to come and go without the blink of an eye. I usually like to keep my birthday on the low down, unless I get free stuff..then it’s time to party.
I think I may have talked about The Veggie Grill once or twice before..it’s safe to say I am obsessed. It just so happened that I received a, “welcome to grill club” and a, “happy birthday” coupon all in the same week! This meant a free meal (for birthday) AND a free dessert (for joining grill club.) All I had to do was give my e-mail address..SOLD! My date and I made a special trip to Seattle, just for this meal.
One of those plates was free, along with the carrot cake. Vegan comfort food never tasted SO good. Happy Birthday to me. Along with eating my weight in food, I bought myself some birthday party pants earlier that day.
My life is so black and white..time to add a little color. Just as I was dancing on the fence about the pants, I received my confirmation for the purchase.
Ohh I loveee him.
$10 dollar pants on sale at H&M, dance party indeed.
Q: Do you have a big celebration for your birthday? Mine is on Friday, but I have a half marathon on Sunday and want to take it easy the few days before! AKA I am a grandma and will probably bake some cupcakes and fall asleep by 10pm.

Happy early birthday!! I normally keep my birthdays pretty low key too. Last year, my boyfriend took me to Chevy’s so I could get a sombrero because I had wanted one since I was, oh, three years old! (It’s still on display in my bedroom.) But I always make my own birthday cake (or cupcakes)!
Looks like AMAZING food! You can never go wrong with mac ‘n cheese, sweet potato fries, and carrot cake. Especially if all eaten in the same sitting! :]

Those pants are cray-cray, which is why you should wear them for your run on Sunday. Nobody will miss you. In fact, they’ll be talking all enviously about the girl in the “pants.”
Every single one of those meals looks ridiculously good and since half the meal was comped (or at least the dessert), it was well worth the trip to Seattle.

I miss elementary school birthday celebrations too. I love that you brought this up. It makes me want to celebrate birthdays in a different way. It’s weird because I remember elementary school SO WELL. I still have dreams about the school I went to but rarely have dreams about my high school.
