Black Hole

My blogging has been terrible lately. I feel like I have been sucked into a black hole of busyness. I am nearing the tail end of a week long housesitting adventure at this house, and I am ready to be done taking care of someone else’s dog. The chickens are cool though, they require minimal attention, and I probably give them too much. I have officially trained them to run with me, or after me..all I have to do is carry some food and they run like savage cheetahs.

In exciting news, I have harvested every last carrot from my wine box garden.

The biggest one was about the size of my hand!

Simply gawwwjus! I have incorporated them into a few meals, my favorite being a good ol BBQ style meal. I smothered the carrots in maple syrup and cinnamon before sticking them in the oven for about 20 minutes.

With a cut up potato (french fry style), baked beans, and a vegan vegetable burger!

The temperatures have been in the upper 80′s, low 90′s lately and that makes for some VERY hot runs. I tried to portray how sweaty I was after a 5miler the other day, but instead I just look like a deer in headlights. “A” for effort.

Bottom line is, running in the middle of the day when it’s 80 plus degrees makes me hate waking up to work at 4A.M. even more than I already do. I want to run mid morning like all the cool kids! That yellow VHS on the door was one of my all time favorite movies when I was younger. Rugrats christmas movie. I finally stopped watching it last year.

It’s finally my weekend, and I plan to sleep, eat..sleep some more..eat a lot more..and then run my first 9miler. Woof.

Q: What were some of your favorite movies growing up?? Anything Disney, Rugrats, and The Berenstein Bears V-Day movie was my jammm!

Let’s see….some of my favorite childhood movies? Oh CLASH OF THE TITANS!

  2. Wait! I always become confused with mirror photographs, so I shall assume that your RING is positioned onto the right hand; but if my assumption is wrong, I need a link to your gift registry right this very moment!!!!!!!!! :D

You look so thin and fabulous! I love that you are a dedicated runner!!! (who is pretty!).

Dog sitting is NOT a freaking piece of cake, is it? ;) Well, perhaps that’s a bad analogy. Let’s say it’s not a freaking tub of hummus (haha!)… looks like you officially have experience to apply to my future NW division of Canine Sophisticate. I shall not forget it!!! :D

    Favourite childhood film…
    1. Sleeping Beauty
    2. Dirty Dancing (yes, in like 1987! I was a naught five-year old – were you even born yet?!).
    3. And Very Brady Christmas, LOL!

    xoxoxoxo
    Welcome back, biach! :)

  3. I like the sound of your weekend, except that whole 9-miler bit… ;) Good luck with it though, I know you will rock it lady. Your carrots are cute! Is that weird to say about a vegetable? Ahh well, they are indeed!
Favorite movies…. all disney ones and in particular LION KING (I honestly watched this every.single.day for about 8 months of my life), Milo and Otis, Homeward Bound… I know I am missing far too many right now!

  4. Those carrots are so cute! Good luck on your long run, you will do awesome I just know it ;) It feels so good once you finish a new PDR. I was OBSESSED with rugrats when I was younger. Best show, ever. And the lion king.

  8. I can def understand about a black hole of busyness. I’m so busy with packing that blogging has certainly taken a back seat. I think in a couple weeks I’ll be back at it though!

  9. LOVE those carrots!! My home grown basil has been in my food daily, and Im loving every bit of it :)
And that run? Girl your amazing. I workout around 130 when I get off work, and its so hot in my house. But I never head outside to run!! I blast 2 fans on me and do my weights or cardio circuits in the cool fan air lol

  10. Twins again! I absolutely LOVED Disney! (Still do haha) and Rugrats were my childhood :) Carrots look awesome! I’ve never tried them with maple syrup, sounds interesting :)

  11. Brittany, I just adore you! Wish you lived down the block.

  12. Blackhole Britt, boooooooo! Send me some of those fresh carrots!! Jealous.

  13. Man those carrots are making me drool…haha seriously who says that about veggies! Good luck on the 9 miler…once it’s over, you can have an old school movie fest- guilt free laziness :) ! I was OBSESSED with Home Alone 1 & 2 as a kid…I think I watched either of them every day after school for a very long time!

  14. My favourite time to run is mid morning, but I can only do that on Saturdays, the rest of the time its the early one for me. Your carrots are adorable, for some reason they remind me of something out of a cartoon or something :) (I mean this in an entirely positive way, not just anyone can manage to grow cartoon looking carrots)

  15. Man do I give you credit for running outside in upper 80/lower 90 degree weather!!!!! I would have no motivation AT ALL to do any such CRAZY THING! Tis why I love my indoor gym! LOL – I bring my fan and everything cause I sweat enough to fill a reservoir!! My favorite movies growing up… man, I don’t even remember but I loved the DISNEY CHANNEL!!! OBSESSION! :P And right now, I love SHREK!

VHS – love it! My mom used to let me rent one movie every Friday. Every Friday it was Dirty Dancing … that explains so much … and why did my mom let me watch that? :)

  17. “like savage cheetahs…” hahahaha! You crack me up! Glad you are having fun with the chickens. Also glad that you will be back to normal life soon. Your carrots are so cute!

  18. I was all about Mary Kate and Ashley movies! They were my favorite. When I came home to my parent’s house the other day, Free Willy 2 was sitting on the living room table. Apparently the neighbor kids were here watching it, on VHS no less!

  19. Britta says:

Love the carrots, bet the taste amazing too!! My pictures never turn out the way I want them to after my run, my “attempting to look alright/sweaty after a run” pictures typically turn into me looking like a complete sweaty zombie :D So you’re deer in headlights is looking pretty good to me! Cant wait to hear how the 9miler turned out, I am sure you rocked it!!

  20. Oh I LOVE those carrots!! Want!! Keep cool, girl!

  21. I loved Labyrinth! I just got rid of all of my VHS tapes. I should have sent them to you.
