It should come as no surprise that October is my favorite month of the year. Although the season of fall starts in late September, it never really goes into full speed until October. Since fall is my favorite season, it only makes sense that October and fall go hand in hand. As this month comes to an end, allow me to reflect on what I love most about fall.
Pumpkin–This love affair of mine comes in many shapes and sizes. I love pumpkins to carve..
I love pumpkins to hunt for/decoration..
Annnd I love pumpkins to eat..
Along with pumpkins come any kind of squash or gourd too.
Brussels Sprouts–Although these round miniature balls are available all year round, the peak growing season is September-February.

That Brussels stalk/sword allowed me to fight off the raccoon’s that tried to steal my ice cream.
Honeycrisp Apples–These gargantuan apples come around this time of year, and boy am I glad they do. I tried my first apple on steroids the other day. I baked them with brown sugar and cinnamon, paired with none other than pumpkin ice cream.
Soup–When the weather gets cold, soup is my go to. I wish I could swim in a giant vat of soup and use broccoli as a flotation device.
Weather–The cool air, with the sunny skies, along with scattered, multicolored leaves are my ALL TIME favorite days of the year. HANDS down. Plus bundling up with jackets, boots, and scarves is amazing. Boots allow you to sneak candy into any building.
Halloween– I am slightly upset that I was unable to go trick or treating this year due to my best friends work schedule, but I was able to stay home and hand out candy.
Trust me guys, my house is THE house to come to. I HOOKED these kids up…at least three pieces EACH child. You can thank me for your saddlebags and sugar induced comas later.
After October comes November, and who doesn’t like November. Thanksgiving is the one day of the year where you are EXPECTED to stuff your face until you are forced to breathe out of any orifice other than your mouth. Goodbye October..you were good to me. Thank you for starting the best fall trends.
